Hi Ladies, hope you all had a great NEW YEARS DAY.
Here is an interesting website I found, take a look at it.

BARBARA: Wow, you are doing fantastic, I know you will definitely stick to it this time, we are all here to support you every step of the way. Don’t even think of the 60kgs you have to loose just take it 10ks at a time and you have already nearly lost the first 10 so you are 1/6 of the way already in just 21 days, give yourself a big pat on the back. How are you finding the plan, you are probably noticing now that the meals hardly take any thought at all. I actually weight all my meats and pop all the ones with the same weight in 1 bag in the freezer. So for example I am allowed to have either 120g meat or chicken on Meal 2, so I weigh up (raw weight) 120g of Beef, Veal or Chicken, pop them in separate bags and then into one freezer bag. Then I just have a luck dip for that meal 2 and it will be one of the 3 that I pull out. Keeps it a bit interesting. If you ever need any suggestions on meals just email me so I can help you make them a little more interesting and tasty so it doesn’t become the same old boring meal every time, it starts getting hard then. joy@finer.com.au

KASEYSMUM: You have definitely answered your own questions, your old plan works, so it is obvious that it is just a money making thing about getting a new program. WOW and only 18.7 kgs to go, FANTASTIC.

CASEY: You’ll be fine today getting straight back on it. Don’t worry if you weight doesn’t go down a little by tomorrow because by the 4th of Jan it will start to drop off again, it usually takes the body 1 or 2 days to settle back down and realise what you are doing to it again. You’ll be fine, promise.

MONI: You are doing great and there is no doubt that you are going to meet you mini goal by the 1st of Feb. Good on you, keep up the excellent work.

MYSHY: Hope you little one is better today and the rain we had yesterday cleared the air a bit. How are you feeling today?

MEL: Yes, it has been stifling here in Melbourne too, yesterday we had the cool change, wow what a shock to they system, I had to go and put a jumper on. Our pour bodies adjusting to these weather changes. Did you get a cool change in Sydney as well? MEL, congratulations on your engagement, you have to email me your address so I can at least send you a card. So when is the big day? Oh, just read, end of the year, you are going to be looking absolutely beautiful on your special day so now matter what I just know you will be sticking to it 110% now. You will be well into the 2 figures by the end of the month, congratulations. I totally agree with MEL, if you haven’t got back on it yet, please start now, the party is over.
Good thought about ordering the re-feed now so I can ponder over it and know exactly what to do when it is time. The clinic opens tomorrow so I shall give them a call and see what they have to say, bet they won’t let me have it though. I’ll let you all know. Don’t worry about going to Alice, it is so dam hot there you’ll probably just sweat ever thing out, it is just such an amazing place to visit, is it your first time there? If so you are going to be just amazed on how our wonderful country changes from having the most beautiful beaches and tropical rain forests to desert. An absolute eye opener. Wow, that picture is absolutely great, you look so different, make sure you keep us posted. I’ll have to ask Cryss, the computer gooroo, how to do it because I have no idea, god, you are just a wiz at all of this. Thanks for all your help Cryss or else I would never have even got the TICKER working….

PDF: Your weight is going to come off quickly, putting on that excess pregnancy fat won’t stay there for long and at least you are doing it now instead of 10 years down the track like most people. My cousin has 2 children 6 & 4 and she is still blaming the children for her weight, I guess I don’t have the heart to tell her to pull her finger out and do something, but I am getting so sick of listening to her ridiculous complaints that my suggestions won’t be far away, that’s for sure. Also you need commending for doing something like this your first child, you’re a star, good on you…..Yes, you will be tired but before long you will be so please you are on the plan because it will just become second nature and all you will have to concentrate about is your beautiful baby and just normal life. Also if you are breast feeding that could be draining you as well, maybe you need to take to vitamins instead of one. I would ask you doc if there is something else you can take to give you a little bit of a boost, just for the moment. It is early days yet though and your body will settle down in the next few weeks, guaranteed. I guarantee you are meant to measure yourself as they only like to do the easy weight-ins. I think once you get those scales and if your like me , jump on them every morning and see you are loosing that that will keep you inspired as well. I never measured because I can never seam to get the same spot twice so I only go by my scales and cloths.

RJM: Do you also think I should order my reefed now. I am 63.9 this morning and they say I should order within 2 kgs of my goal which is 59-62. I am so scared, I know I’ll be fine but I am just so use to this after 91 days and don’t want to change.…..

CRYSS, PHILIPPA & MYSHY: How are you all going my Melbourne Buddies.

I just love this forum and speaking to you all, I just want you to know I think you are all great and class each and every one of you as very special friends. We are all in the same boat together.
Speak to you soon, JOY ;)

Good Morning Everyone,
Just a quick post for me. I am into my 6th day of a migraine and need to be sent to Cohens jail with Nat.

I am trying to stick to my diet, but with my food and people scales being broken I am guessing my food weights and not game to jump om my new scales. I feel as though I have put on weight though.

My little boy is much better, so hopefully this a turning point. I should be able to get out today and get some new scales.

As always, it is inspiring to read your posts.

MEL - You will look stunning on your wedding day. Picking a wedding dress is going to be a really great experience for you.

JOYSEY - I took a peek at the website you posted. Very interesting. I like to have as much reassurance as possible. Regarding your trip to the U.S - with the way you have approached this diet so far, I can just see you sailing through the refeed regardless of your location. You are truely amazing and will make the best of it wherever you are!

MONI - I didn't get my christmas goal achieved. I did however buy some bathers and will get in the pool once my son is over his croup. Your weight loss is tremendous. I am predicting you will be under the 100kgs by February!

CRYSS - How has the situation at your clinic gone? I am sure we would all like you to post an update.

I am due for a weigh in on Thursday. Going to ask for my refeed to be ordered.

Take care everyone, keep up the great work!

Myshy

Hi everyone,
Joysey, if I were you, I would probably order my re-feed now. It can take a couple of weeks to arrive, and you will have a chance to look over it and decide when you want to start it. The clinic should give it to you without any problems as you are within 2kg of your goal weight. It sounds like some of you have very finicky clinics.
It is a bit scary starting the re-feed, and it only gets scarier as the quantities increase, but I lost more weight on the re-feed towards the end of it ( when the food quantities were the biggest) than I did at the beginning ( when the increases were only small), which shows that it does work, and your body does adjust and cope with processing larger quantities of food.
I was 15kg from my goal weight when I ordered my re-feed and had no problems at all ordering it. My clinic have also said that even though I have deleted my contract by ordering the re-feed early, I am to feel free to phone or email them with any questions I have, and they have been emailing me to ask how I am going. I did think at the beginning that my clinic was a bit slack, but have now found that they are most supportive and helpful. The slackness was only because they were still getting the clinic up and running and organising staff etc. How are you finding them now Missys Mum?
Anyway everyone, have a great day. Talk to you all soon.
Beck

Hi everyone,

Good to read everyone's posts. You have all inspired me and TODAY IS THE FIRST DAY OF MY COMMITMENT TO SUCCESS WITH COHEN'S PROGRAM. I AM GOING TO DO THIS FOR ME NOW.

I have put this in print and I am going to stick with this. You are all doing tremendously well and I want to be in the same category of success. I have 60 to 70 kgs to lose. This is a major step for me to put this in writing as I don't usually tell anyone as I am too embarrassed. I feel the support on here is better than I can get anywhere else and I am going to succeed. I started Cohens 12 months ago and lost 15 kgs quite quickly. I could have lost all my weight by now except I keep going off track. I have no willpower. Your successes are now going to help me achieve this. Congratulations to everyone on your progress. Sorry for rambling on but I had to write this.

Moni, you are the most inspiring and motivating. 30kgs in such a short time is fantastic. You are well on your way to beating this. CONGRATULATIONS. :D

Mel: Congratulations on your engagement and on your weightloss. Your photo already shows a great difference and it will only get better. You will make a beautiful bride and it will be exciting for you to choose a dress that you will feel and look stunning. :D

I have made it so far to 1.00pm and have not gone off track. :)

Hope you all have a good week.

Regards,
Cathy

Just a quick update on photos.

Hello everyone,

I'm just waiting on my diet to arrive so I can get started. I found this site and was wondering if anyone here is from the states. It appears everyone is from all over. I don't have a clinic in my area, but had an appt. with a professional that has been doing this and I'm so impressed with how great she looks. She hasn't told me much about the diet, except that it is strict and based on porportions. She did mention that another person was on it that she knew and they compared notes and the foods were the same, but different portions. I was just wondering what I could do to prepare myself for the moment I get my diet. Are there particular food scales to use and specific fruits and vegetables. I'd like to get some of these things in and be prepared . . .guess I'm just anxious. It's been interesting reading all your comments. Great support. I really don't want to talk to anyone here about it. Just want to do it and get the results. Thanks, hope to hear from someone. I noticed the pricing on the threads of the diet. In the states it was $179. up to Dec. 23rd, then raising to $229 as of January 2. Just curious how this compares.

Hi Everyone,
Well, I finally have both sets of people scales working. Old scales I am 61.5, new scales 64.7.
Will keep weighing myself with both sets until I am at my goal weight I think. One thing this does show me is that the 57 Cohens have set for me is too low. I am now a size 10 and reluctant to go to an 8. I'll play it by ear for now, but know from experience that a 6-8 is not a good look for me.

RAJAH - I think it's very sweet that you are sharing your weight loss goal with us. I know myself what a big thing it is to share your weight with anyone. I havent told anyone my weight(apart from on this forum) for over 10 years. The difference here is that we are all in the same boat, and can help encourage and support you on your journey. I think the other ladies are right in saying to break the weight loss down into 10kg lots. Celebrate each milestone and you will be on your refeed in no time.

LINDA717 - I think we are all from Australia so far,but there are a few ladies from the U.S who go into the chat room. I wish our program was only $200.00. Mine was $680.00, which I think is the standard price here. Does your price include the refeed?

MONI - Congratulations on your great weight loss and thanks for sharing your photos. You look sensational.

I had the mango chicken for dinner last night. It's a really nice change and worth the effort if you are getting a little bored with your meals.

Apart from the support we receive on this forum, I was wondering who are your biggest supporters for this diet? Mine have been my daughter (14) who loves the fact we can wear some of the same clothes and surprisingly, my ex-husband who whistles and picks me up every time he sees me to see how light (!) I am now. My mum has also been good, but is now wanting me to stop losing weight.

Hope you all have a great day.Take Care,

Myshy

New Year, New Attitude,New Me!

Ladies, I’m a little battle weary from dealing with our Cohen franchise owner from Melbourne, and a long list of other troubles that I won’t bore you all with, given that we all have em right? anyway I made it through, and I’m back!

Special hello to the Melbourne Crew, Pippa where are you girl?

Welcome to the new girls on line PDF, Barbara (you are not alone in having to lose a large amount of weight, officially I had to lose near 80kg), Linda 17 (Cohen’s is way cheaper in the states with the current exchange rate girls, Linda pays $311AU), it is fantastic to see so many taking the first step to an amazing life change, honestly girls, once you see the weight literally falling off, you will never turn back. It’s not easy, god knows it tests you, but all the support you need is right here on this forum, and all your questions can be answered by the girls that have successfully completed the program. Make good use of their experiences, it will save you a lot of heartache and confusion.

Next round of love is to my amazing support network, you haven’t forgotten about me, you have kept pushing, which I am eternally grateful for, because it appears that I might as well be invisible to my family and some of my closest friends who have attempted sabotage over the last 10 days! Mel, Joy and Chez, you all rock my world! :D

MONI – you legend you! Keep losing it, cos there are skinny girls out there finding it!

Rajah – girl you need a ticker! You need to be proud of your weightloss, because you will NEVER go back, stick with us and we will support you all the way. You and I must be pretty close in size. If you want I can help you with a ticker to advertise your amazing transformation.

Well life is getting better, I’m nearly 17kgs lighter that when I started and even with my little hiccup with you know who, he hasn’t totally crushed me. I mean we all know the program works, and it works well, the only downside is the entire lack of support or reliability from some of the consultants.

Anyhoo, I’m off, promised the other half we would reorganize the office tonight, I have a uni assignment due Friday, and it’s impossible to work in mess that is our office.

I’ll keep an eye out for you girls in the chat room!

Hi girls everyone is doing so well the weightloss is terrific well done.

10 kilos per month I wish, is that possible except for the first month for me no way. But xmas has been such a problem for me this year and the days after and the days till friday this week. Can't ever seeing me gettting back on track but I truelly hope so this friday for sure.

My xmas was the best in 20 years I guess my older kids 30 and 27 had their dad here with us for lunch this year which was great. My son in law came too but didnt eat too much was having chemo on the following couple of days and didnt want to eat too much as what goes down, comes up over and over poor thing.

And New Year I spent with my ex hubby and our grandkids at his house which was special. It was like time had stood still and we had never been apart I had trouble in leaving it was a little teary but have been invited back for Australia Day so it couldn't have been too bad.

My nails which I have always bitten have grown so strong its amazing looked down one day and realised I had stopped biting them must be the vitamin tablets.

Plus my hair even looks shiner has anyone else noticed these things as well.

So how can I get back on track dont go offthis diet its so hard to start again havent really been too bad and havent put on weight but am missing meals and not drinking much water, any tips?

rjm------ yes the clinic rings me so often and are very helpfull what a change its great.

Anyway I wish you all a happy new year and with great weight loss cheers dianne

Hello again to all and thank you for your responses to my e-mail. I'm still waiting on the diet as the office was closed until the 2nd. Looking forward to getting started and feeling better about myself . . .tired of lugging around the extra lbs. I've started ridding the refrigerator and cupboards of junk . . .just getting ready. Bought a digital scale yesterday. Now just waiting to hear what I should be buying. Are you able to prepare meals ahead and freeze them or does the diet change that much day to day? Is there much fruit on this diet?

Wow, that really is a big difference in price. I haven't found any websites within the US for this support. You all sound like old friends when I read your chats. That's great!!

Oh, I forgot to mention, the refeed is included with the initial fee, provided I meet my goal within the 12 weeks. If not, there is another fee charged.

HI EVERYONE,

RAJAH: GO, RAJAH, GO. Just forget about every other type of food and concentrate on living and just eating when you have to. The time goes quick and before you know it you will be saying you are in double figures.....

MONI: OH, MY, GOD, what a difference, you look great, congratulations, you must be feeling so different. 30kgs in just 9 weeks, you are an absolute winner.:D :D :D :D :D

CASEY: Glad to hear the chockies are all out of the house, you'll be fine now, just don't even give those little mouthful’s of fat a chance to even get into your mind let alone your mouth. Good on you for getting rid of them.

MYSHY: You will know when to stop. I went on the biggest looser website and that said I should be 51kgs, like, get real, I'm not 16 any more. I know I am good at 60kgs but thought I might aim for 59 and then hover between 59 & 60. At the moment (this morning) I am 63.75 and I guess I look o.k. even at that. I think I'll take RJM's advise and ring the clinic today to get them to prepare my re-feed. I am sure at 61.5kgs you must be looking fabulous, yes, if I was you, I'd get the re-feed because by then they say you drop another couple of KGS so you should be down to 59.5. Myshy, my biggest supporters are all of you. I don't have many friend as I am always working and just don't have time to socialise very much unfortunately, so it was just so wonderful to catch up with Pippa & Cryss the other day. Definitely popping down to see that the lovely supermodel up at Lara soon. Also I have one client that is also a work associate and I have inspired her so much that she has now lost 32 kgs but on some other type of diet that she keeps breaking otherwise she would be a much lower weight. Hubby never says much but he did bring the washing up the other day and left mine in the basket instead of putting it away and said "thought you may like to go through these first so you can take out what doesn't fit anymore" YEAH, he has noticed. Believe it or not, that is the very first comment in 94 B!@@DY days. Have to have a giggle about it.

MISSYS-MUM: Hi you wonderful lady, it is just so great to see you on the threads. Started mum on the diet New Years Day, and adjusted it accordingly after having a 3 hour session with the diabetic educator. Day 1 she lost 800g, day 2 only 100g, couldn't believe it or understand why, but guess whatttttt, "oh, she said my blood sugar went down last night and I had a bit of CHEESE". CHEESE, I ABSOLUTELY SCREAMED AT HER AND SHE STARTED CRYING, it was those kraft slice things, grabbed them, un did them and chucked every single one out to the dogs. I told her to have fruit or yoghurt. Anyway, she isn't up yet so I will be weighing her very soon, I know she didn't break yesterday because I think she is too scared to. I am tipping 1kg. I'll let you all know. Her starting weight on 1/1/06 was 147KGS. Oh, just weighed mum, down to 144.1 this morning, she lost 2kgs yesterday….YEAH……
MISSYS-MUM, you just have to forget the past food and start fresh today, just think there isn't anything else in the world you can have except what you are allowed, don't even think of anything else, you can and will do it, WILLPOWER, WILLPOWER, WILLPOWER. After a few days it will be simple again.

LINDA717: WELCOME:) , and congratulations on taking the very first step to the NEW YOU. You will need digital scales to weight yourself and also a good set of digital scales for your food. With the food scales I would suggest that you get power operated ones instead of battery, because sometimes when you are measuring your food and if the phone rings or something, the battery ones automatically switch off to save the life of the batteries, I just found it annoying turning them back on all the time, but I’m pathetic at any way, hate being inconvenienced, so if I was you, spend a little more and get power point ones.
I now you said in your first thread, “I really don't want to talk to anyone here about it”, but we hope you can become a part of us, your right, we are just like old friends, but most of us have never met and probably never will, but it is just so good to be able to talk to someone, even if you don’t know them personally. You can’t get this type of dedicated support from any one, family or friends, if they are not going through it. We all totally understand each other and are here to back each other up if something should go wrong, if someone else tried to do this it just wouldn’t be the same. From this forum, it all comes from the heart not just from the mind and that is why we all sound so close. We do hope you can join us as our buddy and we all look forward to supporting you now and in the future.
With the plan, I would wait until you get it. Everyone has the same foods, meat, chicken, fish, vegies, fruit & cheese but, yes, all are slightly different portions. They say they work it out for each individual but really I can’t see how 5g of vegies for example would make any difference at all. Anyway we have all paid our price and our Australian price is ridiculous, compared to your’s which is less than ½ of what we pay, AUD$680.00 which is approximately US$503.00. Hey, ladies, if you know anyone else that wants to start the program maybe Linda can tell us where she got it from and they can just join through them. Would you mind telling us Linda? After you receive your plan I would then go shopping for what you need. So for example on you plan you may have 100g (3.52oz) of chicken in meal 2 & 120gms (4.23oz) of chicken in meal 3. So buy a 4lbs of chicken breasts and cut them up into the sizes, so you may have 10 freezer bags of 3.52 oz and another 10 bags of 4.23oz, and then just label them with the weight and what is in them and all you have to do is pull one out of the freezer. Just do the same with the meat and fish. The vegie part is easy, I just have a container with a little of everything in it and either have a hot vegie stir fry, no oil of course or a salad. We are in our summer here so salads are easy for use. Also you can make delicious soups etc. Linda, how much do you have to loose. I started 93 days ago at 90.3 KGS and today I am 63.75kgs, hum, lets see that’s, 199 lbs down to 140.5 – That’s 58.5lbs in just 94 days or in our Aussie weight language 26.55kgs.
Oh, Nearly forgot, don't forget to get some of the green slimmers tea, it is just excellent for detoxing and keeping your system cleaned out whilse you are on the diet. If you want to email me I can send you a photo of the pack so you know what to get. joy@finer.com.au

HEY MYSHY: Would you mind posting that lovely MANGO, CHICKEN RECIPE you were talking about.

Well had better stop boring everyone so I hope you all have a good successful day.
Speak to you all soon,
Best wishes to all from JOY xxxxxxxxx:eek:

It pays to get the right answers

Hi everyone,

Firstly Happy New Year to everyone and huge congratulations to all of you for being so strong and determined during the tempting Christmas period! Stay strong - finishing is winning!

From reading many posts over the past few weeks, it seems appropriate that I enter the discussion and answer some of the criticisms that have been levelled at the Cohen clinics in Melbourne especially.

Support - At the outset, I want to say how impressed we are at the close-knit support group that exists here. You all deserve a round huge of applause and we encourage you to continue supporting each other as you have been. Contrary to the impression many seem to be painting, Cohen consultants don't sit around twiddling their thumbs idly every day. They have their time well and truly cut out managing hundreds of individuals who are going through a wide range of different circumstances as each of you are too. Don't expect that you will be telephoned every day or even every week. Your clinic has agreed to be in touch at least once every 2-4 weeks. If we don't hear from you, we assume you are managing fine.

Correct Info - If you have any questions, we are only a phone call or email away. Whilst you will no doubt find a lot of help in here, remember only the consultants will be giving you the correct answers as per their training and directives from Dr. Cohen himself. By all means, share that with each other, but relying only on opinions of Cohen clients is risky and we've seen too many clients come unstuck that way.

Opinions - Of course we are all entitled to our opinions of other people, especially those running the clinics, but please think before you post. This is a public forum and can be read by anybody with internet access worldwide. Publishing comments of a derrogatory nature not only breaks your agreement in registering with this site, but can also have legal implications. If you have a legitimate complaint, please make it direct with your clinic so it can be addressed in the right way.

Blood tests - Please ensure they are done on the due dates. Despite what some have suggested, they are crucial to your success on the program as your refeeding cannot be created by Dr Cohen without them. Please do your tests on time and through the pathology firm you have been referred to. Several have rightly pointed out that the pathologists will always have copies of any test results. If you have done a test and we have not received the results, it is not the end of the world - a copy is readily obtainable. In the rare event that test results have been lost, the pathology firm always has your original referral form and a record of your attendance at a collection centre. This means we can verify you did the right thing and where the pathology firm has made a mistake, they will always re-do the test at no charge.

Pricing - Finally, a note about the differences of pricing for Cohen's program in the US compared to here in Australia. In the US, clients are paying for their initial eating plan and 12 weeks of telephone and email support only (no clinic visits or weigh-ins). If they have not reached their goal weight by then, they need to start again at the full price. In Australia, your program fee includes the refeeding , management guidelines, enough support time for you to achieve your goal weight and also includes all clinic visits. It is extremely rare that anybody in Australia needs to re-do the program.

It is not my intention to post regularly on this forum. I think you are all doing a terrific job and commend you all for being so positive and supportive. Dr Cohen's program has changed the lives of thousands of people over the past 20 years and will continue to do so. Make this experience count and you will finally be free of the dieting round-about for good! I will keep one eye on the forum for a while to answer any specific questions/postings if needed. Otherwise - keep going and keep strong! You will succeed!

Remember, we're here to help, anytime, and in any way we possibly can. Make the most of your consultants!

Tim
