Club 200 Plus

Hey Guys! and welcome to Bambi!

I thought I'd come and check in...get some inspiration whilst i am eating my 136 calorie soup for lunch having said no to going out with all my friends to the gourmet burgar bar for their thursday 2 for 1 offer!! So I'm sitting here trying to convince myself that "mmmm this tastes far better"! LOL

:rotflmao: I would say my size but I always manage to pick up stalkers :p

This did actually make me laugh out loud!! And a whole office of tax consultants turned round to stare at me!! Actually though, if (or should that be WHEN) I manage to lose weight, it does worry me what's going to happen in the upstairs department. Not that a reduction wouldn't be welcomed, just the "shape of things to come"...

Hotness is definitely the motivator that stops me reaching for the bad things most of the time and at the gym if I picture someone I like looking at me and the difference on their face between thinking "ooooh she looks HOT" and "hmm, she's overweight" (not that they might say either) but imagining it spurs me on to run for that extra minute or two..

HOLY CRAP! I absolutely LOOOOVe that song! I usually listen to trance music whenever I am working out, if you're not familiar with it, it's like the house music of the 80's just more melodic and sometimes a bit more electronic and longer.
It is the best song ever! I also like oldies like Pump Up the Jam. This club floor fillers CD is the best work out mix. I do like trance/house but find that when I'm running, something with words and vague verses/choruses helps me as I mentally sing along and push myself to run until the next key change or next chorus...and then to the next one...etc...

Being a Brit, I have no idea what Lane Bryant is! But we have a store aimed at larger ladies - Evans and I find it useless - they translate larger size as t-shirts like tents and the cut of the clothes just doesn't work for me. Luckily though, as I'm a UK18 I can fit into clothes from stores like Next so that tends to be most of my wardrobe! I can't wait to get to a smaller size but I'm seriously worried about how much money I'll spend on clothes. If I could walk into stores like Coast, Jigsaw, DKNY, Kookai etc... and fit into all of the PRECIOUS THINGS *starts drooling and looking a bit like Gollum out of Lord of the Rings* I wouldn't be able to stop buying them!

Good news on the gym DerbyDoll - it seems really intimidating to get started but do a little bit at a time and you'll soon get into a rhythm of going and the difference is really noticeable after a week or two.

I've skipped the gym today as the lacrosse season has finished here and I'm going back to playing tennis on Thursday evenings for the summer. Last time I lost all the weight, I was playing tennis three times a week for 2 hours a time, so hopefully it will kick start the lbs coming off. I'm feeling fitter and healtier and more toned from the gym but not much less weight.

Lane Bryant actually isn't too bad. The clothes are cute and stylish, just bigger sizes. The also do a really good job at making them shapely and understanding that when you increase the size, you probably need to increase the chest and the sleeves also. It's a good store for larger girls. But yeah, I'm looking forward to the day when I can buy clothes in the regular stores.

I love Lane Bryant. I haven't had the money to shop there in ages, though. It's the only place, that I can find, that has bras in my size. I'm hoping that once I lose weight, my girls will shrink too. I would love to be able to buy a less expensive, pretty bra.

Pump up the jam rox :D The type of trance I workout to has verses/choruses/etc :D I like trance with really powerful singers...like how Martha Wash was with black box...or sometimes even etheric, but beautiful nonetheless.

When Lane Bryant started they were so lame and there was an even lamer store called Avenue lol well now they have both improved their fashion so I am happy for that, but it used to be the same tent things that they have in the UK at the store you mentioned lololol Well I guess they are good if you want to go camping or something :p cheap tents! :smilielol5:

My only problem with lane bryant is the cut of the clothes...I always have to end up buying something stretchy because I wear a 14/16 top and a 18 bottom but my chest is huge so some of the cotton styles have like an umpire waist that actually strangles my boobs or they have this slanted cut at the top that leaves everything to fall out :D and the 18/20 tops are a bit tentish on me. Also with the jeans they tend to make them for bigger bellies so sometimes I have these puffs at the top of my leg and the rest of the jean fits perfect lolol But they have provided me with a fashion outlet in the midst of fashion crisis:svengo: SO I am thankful they exist! I have gotten some really nice clothes there...esp jean skirts!

I posted this in my diary and somewhere else on the board...so sorry for the overkill if you read it before :D But the elliptical I cannot buy because it has a weight max of 250...so I am waiting to go down 20-30lbs. In the interim I have found a really cool magazine called Runner's World that I will be subscribing to ... only $1/issue and they have 12 books that they send for free :D Hubby should be going back to his regular schedule also, so I should be able to go to the gym and use the treadmill since there is no elliptical there:toetap05:

Since we have a few runners on this thread I will share anything I think is of value from the magazine I am reading :biggrinjester:

One of the things I found useful already...or I should say informative because I will not be using it for a while...is regarding running on dirt paths. I know already it is better than running on pavement because of the lack of shock, but it makes you run slower because you have to put in a little more effort. An article in the mag says that it slows you down about 1 second per lap. I understand a lap to be 400 meters...so that put things in perspective for me.

^^ Well for this portion of it I really should say that this is probably not only a lane bryant thing but I will encounter it wherever I shop because of my shape.

imaninjadangit, I just wanted to say that they have some really good online stores for bigger bra sizes. There is one I know of that sells some good bras for like 14-16 bux and they charge $1 for shipping and handling. I need to check my size now tho so I plan on going to one of those bra specialty shops for free measurements. If they have anything less than $50:leaving: I may even buy a bra or two. I was also able to find some bras in my size at.........Wal-mart! I could not freaking believe it! They have an expanded plus section with bras in bigger sizes!

And men of the 200 club lol please do not feel discouraged to join in becoz of the girl talk :D:D

I know what you mean re the sizing - I trade up a size in tops because of my chest size and also the tops of my arms. In trousers, they can fit perfectly on my legs and hips but then I have inches to spare on my waist and have to get trousers taken in. We have a shop in the UK called Bravissimo that specialises in fitting larger busted women properly in nice looking lingerie!! Its a bit expensive for bras (£20-40 a bra) but they have also started doing swimwear/workwear/casual clothing and they do sizes like normal shops 16, 18 etc... BUT also have a curvy, super curvy, super super curvy sizing where the top is a 16 but extra inches for busts depending on your curvy sizing...makes for a really nice fit and stops you having to trade up sizes that are loose elsewhere

:eek::eek::eek:!

jjjay I just noticed that your ticker reads 199.2!!!!!!! Congrats on the weight loss and getting below 200lbs!
:hurray: :willy_nilly:  :jump: :hurray:  :jump:

aww thanks Xenon! I am quite chuffed I must admit - even though the scale showed 200lbs if I stood on two feet and 199.2 if I stood on one foot!!! However, I'll take it anyway it comes hehehe

No-one is posting in the club 190 thread and we've just got things going here so I think I'll hang around a bit if thats ok!

Of course it is! I plan on posting here even after I am lower than 200lbs :D I think you'll have some company in the Club 190's soon enough :D Mizzie is so close!

You're right DerbyDoll...I was feeling like crap about last week and got some support and I feel so much better :D

jjjay I believe you said that running on the treadmill is so much easier than on pavement....you are 100% right lolol Today I ran 3 minutes on the treadmill for the first time....in intervals of 1 min, 45 sec, 45 sec, 30 sec. SO much easier lolol I could not dream of running an entire minute on pavement....or could I :D;);)

aaahhh! I'm so sick of ending up back in here. I was down to around 197 and now I'm back well over 200.

I'm making an appointment with a dr to to get my eating under control so I won't binge like I do now. If that helps, I'll be on my way out of the 200's quickly.

I remember you from 2008 lol...I think you put up some pix of you on New Years or something. I was PinkClouds then but had to change my userID due to login problems. :D

I am sure you'll get out of here and that you'll stay out :) Are you still doing the vegan thing...or was that someone else?

I'm sorry to hear that, but you'll get out again and never come back!

omg, I know what you mean about binge eating. This weekend was bad for me. It's like I just completely ignored the fact that I need to lose weight, and threw my diet out the window. I'm back on track today, though! :Angel_anim:

yay and thats the best you can do, even if you feel bad about what you've eaten in the past, you cant change what you did, but you can change what you're going to do.

Hello,

I am new to the board and new to the 200 Club. I was in the 190s for a long time and just hit the 200s. I was sort of shocked about this, but I am now motivated to do something about it. I hope I can get under 200lbs soon. I told myself I would never let myself get to 200lbs because I am only 5'2....but I am here now.

I agree! Good job putting it behind you and getting back on track imaninjadangit! :hurray::hurray:
God I love that username :D lol

Hi JMS28 :) Welcome to the 200 club! I am sure you will be back to 190 and even lower in no time :)

Do you have a weight loss goal yet?
