Club 200 Plus

Feel free to join in anytime Lady Foodaholic :D *hands you 200 Club V.I.P. pass* If they're talking in the 300+ club, I'm coming :D

-zin- I saw your message yesterday and I was going to say I have 74lbs to go so I'll be here a while too, but I weighed myself and I am now 258.2lbs :D So 58.3 lbs 'til I'm out of here...which is still a long time lolol

BTW I tried some protein nutrition bars, not meal bars, and they are ok, they fill you for like two hours. I think they make a good treat if you ever feel like having a candy bar or something. I'll buy the meal bars next time and tell you how it goes.

Hi guys! I'm new and over 200, so...I thought I'd pop in here! My scale is at my sister's house, so I'm pretty sure I'm still around 270. I was 265 a couple of months ago, but I know I've gained weight. I just can't wait to get to 199. Heck, I'd love to get to 209! :biggrinjester:

Looking forward to long ramblings!!

Xenon, its only ever really been hi and goodbye posts on here from what I've seen. I was also looking for a bit more of a supportive/get to know others kind of thread so would definitely check it more often and post if we get a regular conversation going!

I am not doing too badly at the moment - slowly slowly but I am now in a mode when whenever i fancy a bit of chocolate or snacking, I think to myself is it worth it or do I want to be not fat anymore (a contrast from the times when I think, oh sod it I'll just eat it!). I've also started enjoying the gym which again is like a momentum thing with me - when I get to a point when its not TOO hard to do the minumum and I start building up i.e. I started on the treadmill walking 5 mins, running 3 mins and walking 5 mins...I then tried to keep running for an extra minute and I'm now up to running for 10 mins in the middle - I would no way have been able to run for 10 mins flat a few weeks ago so am feeling like I'm achieving something.

I'm determined to lose at least 10 lbs in April. DETERMINED. HAH! As I'm having a business meeting with a guy that I've been dealing with on the phone and we've become pretty friendly and I haven't seen him in person for half a year so want to make an impact rather than feeling rubbish about myself!!

Wow super on the weight loss jjjay :D:hurray::hurray::hurray:

I'm enjoying working out as well. Yesterday I went for a walk and ran six time for an interval of 20 seconds...overall that is running two minutes, but hey it's a start! I think your run/walk on the treadmill is great.

AYE! I will come back to write more later, the little one is ready to sleep now.

He' sleeping :) so cute!

I also want to lose 10lbs in April. Did you join the April Challenge? Well if you like challenges anyway. For me it is a fun way to get to my goals.

I think you really did achieve something with the running! Running for 10 mins altogether is awesome! I hope to be there someday ;) When did you start with the three minute runs and how long did it take you to get where you are now. I like to push myself, as I see you do also, and I'm interested to know.

I'm sure you'll be too hot for the meeting :D:D:D:D:D You've been working so hard and I'm sure you feel the difference. and.....
You'll be out of here soon too:hurray::willy_nilly::party:

I've come a long way but I still have a looong way to go.

My goal

I want to lose 50lbs(at least) by July 19th. I'm singing with the local Muny Band, and I want to look great! This will be my 10th year singing with them. They have seen me go from 170, to my current 270. I'd love to get down to the 200-220 range by the time I go back and sing. I don't think that's entirely unreasonable....do you? :coolgleamA:

50lbs in four months? I think that is do able :D I lost almost 40lbs in 6 months and 14 of them were in about a month when I really focused. So I totally think you can do it!

im new to the board but i want to just hop on in here im sitting at 230 but it fluctuates to 225, kinda drives me bonkers but 230 is always my peak weight most weight i ever had on me was 240 that was rough. but id love to get to 199 by the middle end of summer. Not sure how im going to achieve it aside from the derby that ill be getting back to, and at home exercises. I really need an eliptical because running outside is just too much shock on my knee and doesnt work out well when you have a big chest. Advice??

Hi DerbyDoll :D Welcome to the 200+ club. I really love to run and I also am not lacking in the chest area. What I find minimises shock is the type of sneaker you wear and also the surface you are running on...the grass as opposed to sand, pavement etc. With sneakers it's important that the bottom of the sneaker not be too hard. When I am really into running again I plan to get a pair of sneakers from Geox...they have really good athletic shoes for women. You can also look into getting a knee brace. But if you have knee problems and absolutely cannot run because of the shock...sorry for writing all of that^^ lol. I also want an elliptical because really I love it and we do not have one at the gym here. I saw a good one at Wal-mart the other day for under $300.00 and there are some at this online store called Cymax for less than $250.00 BUT a lot of people complain about their products being damaged when they arrive from that company and also prolonged shipping times. I ordered my son's crib bedding set from there and had zero problems, but that is not really breakable ...so I have apprehensions about getting my elliptical from there. I think I might get it from Wal-mart instead.

And thanks for reminding me about it...I always think of these things as just too expensive to get, but I think maybe I can get one sooner than later :D

haha exactly and i do have a knee brace my orthopedic doctor gave me i have a recent sprained ligament injury i recieved about a month ago from roller derby practice (did a fall and twisted around while i was on my knee and heard a pop, yeah the rest is history from there) but i do plan to go back soon im walking without any brace now, its been a process from a knee imobilizer to a sport knee sleeve that i will eventually wear at practice under my knee pads. i was thinking about craigslist for the eliptical just finding one thats in good shape and local in my area, idk i may just take advantage of the time i have at my mothers and go for it and buy an eliptical. i think it would make my time here much more enjoyable and give me more motivation till i can get back to derby. these are the type of shoes im working out with now

Yeah I was thinking about Craigslist too but I am not really an expert at gym equipment so I'm afraid I might buy some crap and not really know how to tell if it is  But if I was smarter with gym equipment stuff, that would definitely be the way I'd go!

I went to Wal-mart again today and I saw another elliptical for $197.00:eek: I was going to buy it, but they were out of stock and they said they will get in another shipment on Wednesday:cuss: So I have to wait but really I'm excited to be getting it this soon lol I just would have been super excited if I got it today :D

Holy *censored* about your knee! Sounds blood curdling painful! Glad to hear that you are recovering from it though and you are able to walk without the brace.

I have some Reeboks i just bought similar to the Nikes you have. They are good running and walking shoes but I think the soles are too hard still. I can feel the shock even when I am walking. I think I will get the Geox Alpha for women when I am really into running. I can't find big pix of it...but here are some:

look at the sole on it

You see what I mean? I think these would be better...but I guess I'll see when I get them lol.

Hey guys, looks like we finally got this thread a-jumping!! So I have lots to comment on!!

Xenon, thanks for the reply! I am really chuffed with not being 230lbs any more but now that I've hovered around the same weight for a year, its time for PHASE 2!! I've proven to myself that I can lose that much once, now I want to drop the next 20-30lbs and really feel great. With the running, I started off on the Couch to 5k program (which is excellent but I got frustrated with it only being every other day and taking more time than I sometimes had at the gym - my schedule is all over the place) so I adapted it to something that suited me more. I started walking 5 mins warm up, then running for 90 seconds, walking for 3 mins, running for 90 seconds etc x 4 then a 5 mins warm down... the next time, I ran for 2 mins and walked for 2 mins, the next time 3 mins and I slowly found that I could drop some of the walking in between so I worked up to walking 5 mins, running 5 mins, walking 5 mins and from there just tried to run an extra minute each time I did it. I find it vital though to trick myself into not clock watching - I'll watch the tv news until the segment has finished or turn the machine to monitor calories and just focus on until 30 more cals have gone, then turn it to distance and focus on the next .3 of a km and THEN go back to time and its like "wow" another 3 mins have gone by. Music also makes a huge difference - I have club floor fillers from the 80s on my ipod shuffle with songs like "Ride on Time by Blackbox" which I haven't heard since I was like...17!!

Running outside is SO much more difficult though but 20 secs intervals is a good start - just build up to 30 sec...40 sec... then merge two intervals together...its all about progression.

As for the meeting...well I've met him aroudn 4 times over the last 2 years and there's been a spark (!) but over the last 3 months we've been talking on the phone 2/3 times a month as we're negotiating a deal and its turned very friendly and chatty and a little bit flirty (but not enough to be considered unprofessional) but this is our final deal meeting so I will probably not get to see him again...so I want it to be "wow, I don;t rememebr her looking THAT good" hehehe worth killing myself at the gym for!

Derbydoll - I have had knee ligament problems too and found the gym treadmill or like a proper running track far easier to run on than normal road/pavement/park. I bought some Asic running shoes that really really helped and didn't run any inclines. As for big chest - 38FF here - I put on a sports bra AND an athletics tank top/sports bra on top just to prevent any self-inflicted black eyes!!

Imaninjadangit - 19th July is...3 1/2 months so 50lbs is around 3.5lbs so ambitious!! but if you put your mind to it! Good luck and we'll be cheering for you! I always find it the best to have an incentive in the future to work towards.

Sorry it took me a bit to reply...I have been super busy and when I log on I usually hit the first posts in my inbox...this one was a little further down

I put on a sports bra AND an athletics tank top/sports bra on top just to prevent any self-inflicted black eyes!!

:rotflmao: I would say my size but I always manage to pick up stalkers :p

"Ride on Time by Blackbox"
HOLY CRAP! I absolutely LOOOOVe that song! I usually listen to trance music whenever I am working out, if you're not familiar with it, it's like the house music of the 80's just more melodic and sometimes a bit more electronic and longer. Thanks for explaining your routine and progression...if the C25K is to slow for me I'll take some tips from you ;)

And yes hotness is always a good reason to bust your butt at the gym;) and hotness to leave an impression on a cutie is an even better reason ;););) lolol I have been thinking about fashion and what I will be wearing when I am a size 13 again. The smallest size I ever remember being was like a size 11/12 and also a 10 but geez I was not even legal then lolol. The thought that 13 could be possible again has me so loopy:willy_nilly: I can shop somewhat in regular stores again but I'll be too small for lane Bryant....UNLESS they lowered their sizes under 14 and I was not aware of it :D So many fashions have passed me by over the years! And slim people are always taking me with them to pick clothes because they like my taste...it will be so cool to do that for myself and walk around with my style instead of having other people do it. Lane Bryant has done well in having a variety of fashion and also Macy's has good things now and then, but when you are slimmer there is more variety, and variety is the spice of life :)

so yay there is a physical therapy office across the street from me and they allow the public to come in and use their gym for 20 bucks a month and its walking distance, so that makes me uber happy to have that option, makes me ;D and yeah i need to dig out my sports bra for sure.

Hello,

Looking forward to chatting to all of you!
