Club 200 Plus

60lbs is like...a whole skinny supermodel.

LMFAO LOLOLOL I did not even finish reading the entire post yet LOL! I had to force myself to LOL in a whisper to not wake the baby lololllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

I'm still laughing lolol

I started a diary, it's helping. If you want to read, please do: http://weight-loss.fitness.com/weig...ransformer-thin-girl-disguise.html#post697359

There are cookies in my house. COOKIES! I've eaten 1 in total, and you know what, I'm really fricken proud! I would have eaten at least 4 or 5 (and on a bad day 6 or 7) cookies before! Compared to that, one cookie is not bad at all.

I really need to get some gym clothes. I mean, I have gym clothes, but it's all loose t-shirts and tight-ish pants, which make me feel really self-conscious (as I wrote in my diary). Does anyone know where I can get myself some nice, loose cotton pants to workout in large sizes? Everywhere I look, I see spandex!

Hope everyone else is doing well! Good luck losing that little shrunken woman, jjjay!

fatgirl slim, I don't know what country you are in but "yoga" pants tend to be cotton and looser than typical athletic/gym bottoms- so maybe try to find some of them. Again, not sure what size you are up to but for example, in the UK, Next catalogue do some up to large sizes.

I have some workout pants that I found in the men's section. They don't look too manly...but boy are they comfy. I went to ALOT of school, and I have tons of college workout pants that are nice too.

Yeah, jjjay, I've actually been doing some yoga in the mornings, but until today I haven't found any wide-leg yoga pants to conceal my thighs. I looked on oldnavy.com and found some nice wide-leg pants in my size (XXL)! Seriously, anywhere I looked before there were only these tights, ugly things. I hate to shop, due to my size, so I'm not 100% on top of where I can find certain items of clothing like that. I got 'em, though, so I'm good, thanks.

Trying Zumba at the gym tomorrow. Let's see!

You know, when I first started, I bought wide leg baggy things but now I'm seriously into the adidas tight shiny things. I mean...ok, so I'm still a heffalumper but it makes me feel thinner....I'm slowly coming around to the show whatcha got rather than the hide watcha got way of thinking...and in all honesty, there are so many thin girls at my gym that the guys have got to be spending their time watching them rather than me wobbling.

and what on earth IS zumba?

However I have exciting things to report!! I'm working at home today so went to our local small town gym on a pay-as-you-go visit and ran...for.....
25 MINUTES!! :hurray:
I would have carried on as well but someone else was waiting to use the treadmill and the sign says max 20 mins when busy (I spent the additional 5 mins on the machine debating the ethics and what "busy" meant and as he wasn't waiting for the first 20 mins of my run did that mean I could stay on and be a bit cheeky). I would write more about how great I feel but I'm going to save that for my weight loss diary!

Holy crap! Where the hell was I when you wrote this? jjjay that is incredible! You are picking up endurance so quickly! My goal for this month is to get to 5 mins nonstop. Really I am amazed! You are really doing fantastic and even that is an understatement! :hurray:

Zumba is aerobics with Latin dance. Here is a clip: I think there is some Brazilian dance as well.

Welcome Amanda :):) I'm happy that you decided to join us and I look forward to chatting with you as well!

Well everyone news from me...I wrote it in my diary but neglected to put it here. I was totally doing awful this month and last week I got back on track, although I had severe lack of sleep, and worked out everyday and I lost *cues dramatic music* 5.6 lbs. That brings my weight to 253.6 and closer to getting out of the 250's :D yayyyy! It's so surreal! I'm happy about it because maybe I still can lose 55.6 lbs by 10/10/10 :D We'll see!

down to 231 lbs. goal for this month is to get under 100kg/220 lbs + to run 15km/9.3miles.
i workout 6 days a week right now + and step it up a little bit at the end o the month.

w00t! 5.6lbs is great! I wish I could drop that many - that's like more than I managed in the whole of April! Keep it up!

Excited!

I can't wait to get out of this club! :) I feel like I've finally hit my stride with my weight loss, and I've figured out what works for me and what doesn't. I still have a long way to go before I'm under 200, but I've noticed I tend to lose weight quite quickly and I'm hoping I can be at my goal weight by early fall. I got my metabolism tested once and apparently mine is much, much higher than most women (The doctor said I must've been eating the worst foods ever to be gaining weight at all...*cough*McDonald's).

I've always been big, with emotional and binge eating being a problem for me from a young age. Now, I feel I am finally ready to shed this weight that I have been hiding behind - I know I have learned enough about diet, exercise, and myself to accomplish this.

I'm pumped to complete my journey! :hurray:

You've said you have hit a good stride, wiresandwood. May I ask what your eating/exercise regimine is? We're the same weight, and I would love to get some tips from you!

Sigh. I think I have the metabolism of a slug.
hehe

How's things going Imaninjadangit? Easing up at all?

ok so Ive been lurking a lot but decided to post. I weighed myself last night. Im 240 even. 5'-9" 29 year old male from New York. Office job and I play ice hockey twice a week. Signed up for the gym in my office but would really love to get into MMA training. Not to fight but bc i loathe an elliptical machine. Goal weight is 190-200. Most of my weight is in my torso. Skinny arms and muscular legs, Ive got a chubby face too. Any ideas on how to cut out some of the small things in my diet? Thanx of the help and hope to be near my goal in the next few months.

Welcome carbons2k! We'll try not to be too girly for you!! I used to do a lot of judo and found that the training was excellent for all round fitness and weight loss - the whole way of it worked really well for me - my sensai was tough - you just did what he told you to even if you were far too tired! I'd love to get back to proper judo training or in fact any martial art but I don't live near enough to a decent dojo and playing for a lacrosse team takes up too much of my time as it is!

Re small things - I'm assuming you mean snacks and stuff? I just went cold turkey and drank lots of water whenever I felt the urge to snack. Once I got to a point (within a week or two) where I didn't care or feel the urge, i reintroduced healthy snack in the morning and afternoon just to fight off real hunger. Might not work for everyone but I've found this worked well for me. It kind of adjusted my relationship with food - i..e eating something is a "choice" rather than an overwealming urge of "must eat something now...chocolate will do".

Like you I have a desk job (15 hour day yesterday!) and the killer is going to the vending machine whenever I have a big project on or have to work overtime but recently I have been really pleased - just not felt the temptation.

Anyhow good luck with your weight loss and do come back and post to let us know how you are getting on.

I'm most likely a life-long member of the '200+ club', as I am a 6'6 male with very broad shoulders.

In early February of 2005 I weighed in at 330lbs, and dropped down to about 270 by the end of August 2005. Throughout the next three years of college I worked myself back up to about 300lbs, but dropped down to about 270 between March and May of 2008.

Since I started working my office job in June of 2008, I worked my way back up to a peak of 286 on 01/05/10. That day I decided to make a change, and am currently at 236lbs. My original goal was 250, then it was 236, and now I'm thinking somewhere in the vicinity of 222-225 would be a good spot for me, and would give me a BMI of about 25. I've been training for a half marathon for the past three months, which I will run on Sunday.

I feel great, and am currently at a weight that I don't believe I have been at since I was in the 7th grade (11+ years ago). It's nice that I can finally see my muscle definition from years of weight lifting, as it is no longer buried under layers of fat. My favorite aspect of this weight loss may be being able to buy 'Large' size shirts, instead of Extra large.
