Club 200 Plus

Add me in

Hi guys. Thought this club would be good for me since I'm in the high 200's. Back in the beginning of the summer I weighed 304, over the summer without really dieting I got down to 286. (I maybe actually dieting only 2 weeks from June to beginning of October and not consecutive time either...lol)

On Oct 12 2009 I officially started a healthy diet. I begin at 286, and I now weight 277 (this is the weight at the end of my second week, my third week isn't over yet so it may be more by then).

My goal for now is about 180 and then I will go down more if I feel the need to. I think this thread would be good for me since there are others in my same predicament.

Hello to all you other newbies!! Now let's get outta here!:hurray:

Hello! :waving:

I'm joining your club, since I've finally gotten under 300 after a few years being over. Down to 289 now (from 329), and hope to eventually bust out of this club too.

Exercise does do wonders for you're mood, WilTX. Get excited!

well im back after a rough year where everything was going great,i was down to about 205 a while back, now started again 3 weeks ago at 256,latest is im down to 242:)
been walking for 45 mins every 2 days, slashing intake of junk,my only craving are soft drinks,i know there loaded with sugar thats where im struggling, bread intake about 3 slices per day, hardly any milk,i know it looks miles off but i want to get to near 200 for january, and get to my goal weight of about 125 or less,i hate looking at my face and knowing when im thin i look good but not like this,i wanted to buy this leather jacket i saw,it was worn leather, but it was about a medium size,so i gotta get moving, this is my last go at this i gotta succeed, lets go everyone!

I actually went down to the local school's track today to try out the beginning of the couch to 5k program. I was pretty pleased with myself.

:cheers2:

Omigosh, I did that a couple of years ago and was amazed with how far I could go by the end. It's a lovely program. I'm glad you're trying it. :jump:

I started doing that program a little while ago, and now I finally can run 3 miles at slow jog 12:00 min/mile clip. So I know it works.

So I'm very proud of myself today. I had grits (of the instant butter variety) for breakfast- Can you believe they're only like 100 calories?! And then I had some chicken I cooked last night for lunch, (it was goooooooood!! :hurray:)

This is what I'm proud of: I actually got my butt off the couch and went to my room and CLEANED OFF THE TREADMILL... Then actually USED it! For an hour! :D

And I'm having dinner out, either at subway or arby's. :) Yay!!

<3

WOOHOO, I lost 11 pounds in the past two weeks! That means I've lost 41 pounds altogether in just under two months - I am super proud of myself! :D

Being down to 268 is awesome to me, especially considering I was 309 in September.

Now if only I can at least get down to my high school weight of 190-200...

The Long Journey, or not so long journey

A year and a half ago I weighed 384 pounds and was living a slow death. I was depressed and unhappy... of course no one really knew that because I was always joking around and making things seem better than they really were. I am now 230 pounds and around 35 pounds from my goal... I exceeded my 1.5 year goal by 4 pounds... So I am very happy. I have lost 154 pounds to date.

So to get back to the real reason I wanted to write to this thread. I decided to lose weight and really stick to it... I went the hypnosis route and had 3 visite... I am not here to talk about that but to tell you about the journey. The thread started with how long the journey would be.
I can honestly say it went by pretty fast. I think the reason was because as I was seeing the results I was so happy that the results itself made me high, if you know what I mean. So don't think of the long journey but think if the results short term. Do this weekly, daily... what ever... but do it... give it your best effort for 3 weeks and all of a sudden your routine will be a way of life.
I wish you all the best of luck
Steve

over 150 lbs is incredible! Way to turn your life around.

I'm back at 200 even thanks to guests/vacation for 10 days. Not too bad considering all the food we ate. I've been getting to the gym more frequently so it'll be off in no time. AND MY BOYFRIEND IS NOW TRYING TO LOSE WEIGHT! :hurray: He's not big, just put on some weight from an office job and I'm excited that we'll be eating healthy together now.

I agree. The bigger the goal the more issues become involved. If it's not a matter of 10 or 20 pounds but 50 or 60 the whole game changes. It's no longer just physical fitness and diet. Your mind needs changing too. I have lost 130 pounds and kept it off longer than about 80% of the population, so I have done enough research for a PhD in non-hunger eating and latent exercise avoidance. BTW I've just started a blog about what I've learned - it's at

According to my scale, I haven't lost any weight these past 2 weeks, but I won't know for certain until I get officially weighed in at the diet clinic I go to.

It is my, ahem, time of the month though, so that may be affecting things with all the water retention. :banghead:

Thought I'd throw my story in here:

21 years old
6 feet tall
109.4kg (~240 pounds)
Aiming for 90kg by Christmas! (~198 pounds)

So far, I'm sitting on 103 kilos after 3 weeks, losing about 2 kilos (4.4 pounds) every week. If I can keep this up, I'll hit my goal weight, amaze myself and my family, and hopefully give myself a new lease on life!
