Club 200 Plus

I think my scale is going crazy! I weight in at 205.4 this morning but I'm not changing the tracker thing because I also weighed like 5 other different weights as well. It wouldn't balance out but toward the end it landing on 206.2 twice and then changed again. We'll see tomorrow I guess.... how annoying!

Congrats dude! That's pretty awesome! That's close to 5 lbs a week! Sheesh!

Nah dude, not sad at all. I hate bmi anyway. And I think my goal puts me at overweight as well.

The wonderful part about weight loss is always the time when you have recently started, because the weight seems to absolutely fly off and I am still in that phase. Though this time is completely different, it is flying off because of a combination of a radical dietary change and constant and rigorous exercise where every time prior to now it has pretty much been because it was waaaaay too much weight in the first place.

BMI is a deceptive thing, and I will make my final decision when I reach my goal weight as to whether I will keep attempting at a loss or be satisfied, my health is the real determining factor for the be all to end all goal. If I feel healthy at the supposed "overweight" BMI, to hell with what that formula says. :p

@cameraobscura - I have been on scales that do the exact same thing, one minute you are one weight, step off, step on, you weigh more/less. Kind of nutty. As long as you are confident with your weight, screw what the numbers say. :)

------------------------------------

On the note of numbers though, today I am down to 204. My only real goal for the month of August I had set was to at least be under 200, and I now have 31 days to do that, a rediculous amount of time to lose 5 pounds. I think that I may be able to be at my next intermediate goal by the time August is said and done, and that is to be down to 190. No doubt, that will be a lot of weight lost, an unhealthy amount, but I am doing so in a healthy way, so *shrug*. We will see when the end of August gets here.

Hope everyone has some great plans for the weekend coming up and the first weekend of August no less. Try and make it count but not in a way that you will regret, hehe.

Cheers everyone!

Hey guys i'm new to the 200s club. Weighed in at 298.8 pounds this morning. Good to be out of the 300s club, great people just don't like the requirements:p. I'm 96.2 pounds down from my highest weight of 395 pounds. With any luck this will be my permanent club since I'm 6'4 230-240lbs I believe should be a pretty good end goal.

Good to meet you guys :)

Welcome

@Dave - Welcome to the club, nice to have you, second to join in a week moving over from the 300+ club. Congratulations on your progress so far and good luck on the rest of your journey. :)

@cameraobscura - Congrats on the loss, keep up the good work!

Congrats on the losses everyone! I ended up 0.2 lbs, but I think that had a lot to do with my mate's birthday (lots of alcohol :D).

@Dave, WELCOME! I just saw your post in the 300 club. Nice job, man. Awesome stuff!

To party or not to party? There is no question.

Congrats on the losses everyone! I ended up 0.2 lbs, but I think that had a lot to do with my mate's birthday (lots of alcohol :D).

If we can't celebrate our lives is it really a life? The gain will be made up for exponentially in losses. Hooray for letting loose on occasion. :D

-------------------------------------

I had a bit of success yesterday, dropping again this time to 203. Since my goal for August is to be under 200, I have 27 days to lose 4 lbs. I would be shocked if I couldn't accomplish that, or it meant I descended back to all of my old bad habits and lifestyle. It simply won't happen, and I will accomplish my goal for August early on in the month.

That leaves me to say that in a matter of days I will be unfortunately moving on to a new club, but I will stay in touch here because that is important to me. The journeys which are taking place here help to motivate me on my own and I want to stay involved in everyone's success story. :)

On that note, I'm not gone yet, so I hopped on to encourage everyone to have a wonderful week and best of luck on the goals you have set this week.

Bah, I'm still here. I should've been out long ago but I don't know, everything has been going wrong. I guess at minimum I'll be here another 2 weeks. Trying to get active again, on the boards.

Well, I messed up my left hand/wrist this past week. And I was just barely finishing my first 30 days of P90X. I'm kind of bummed... my P90X workouts are going to have to come to a stop until my wrist gets better. No pushing thru the pain for this one... might end up hurting something worse... especially since there are tons of pushups and moves involving me putting weight on my wrist/hand

Workout safe everyone!

Ouch, that sucks. I did something to my shoulder a couple weeks ago. Had to rest it. This week is the first that I've been able to lift. Hope you're able to to get back to your P90X soon.

I'm curious but what would you guys say is the MINIMUM caloric intake some one who is 6'4 296 pounds should consume? I'm looking to limit my caloric intake a bit more since results have been slowing a lot. Only thing I miss about weighing more is how fast the weight would come off.

Honestly mate, no idea on the absolute minimum. I believe I've read elsewhere that you shouldn't eat less than your BMR, so it might be worth finding that out. (Just google search BMR calculator).
_______________________

1.9 kg (4.2 lbs) loss for me this week. Woop!

You have a BMR of 2738.71. wow I remember when my BMR was about 3,500 its gone down a lot no wonder I'm losing weight so much slower:(. Seems every time I lose 10 pounds I get stuck for a couple weeks as well. I understand plateaus are part of healthy weight loss but at 296ish pounds I wouldn't think I'd have too much of an issue with plateaus quite yet with all the remaining fat. To be honest my caloric intake varies a lot. I usually stick to 1,500-2,500 calories a day just depending on how much Will power I have that day.

I hate to say it but maybe I just need to start exercising more.... exercise is the bane of my existence! Honestly its hard to find any energy to work out, I was working out for a month but then kinda backed off the exercise routine. By the time I get off work I'm ready to pass out and sleep. I'm on my feet all day at work stacking 10-50pound boxes and pulling pallets with a pallet jack. When I first started working there I lost weight fast but the exercise I get at work no longer seems to help me lose weight.

Its amazing how much your progress slows down when you're not consistently working out. I'm trying to go as much as possible these next couple of weeks and I hope to god I'm under 200 by this next weekend. Cross your fingers everyone! haha

Its funny you guys were talking about how aggrivating it is that you're not losing as quickly as when you weighed more, I was thinking that same thing this morning. Blah and its just going to get harder the less we all weigh. Its so worth it though. :)

Keep it up everyone!

Hey!

Welcome to the club! You will find plenty of motivation here from peers with a similar goal. Nice to have you!

-------------------------------------------------------

How's everyone been doing recently? I have managed to get down to 200, and I got there yesterday, so this week will be the week I will be on my way to a different club. I went to the store yesterday and geared up for a week-long effort to lose nothing less than the 1 lb I need to be under 200. Today is the first day of 7 I have to accomplish it.

Anyone else have goals for the week? I'd like to hear about them! :)

Congrats dude! Good luck with your goal!

Me, no real goals this week. Just to get through another week of C25K and hopefully end up with another loss :)

Follow up.

Well getting through another week can be a goal, hehe. Thanks for the good luck. I hope you progress as you like with C25K and see some losses this week.

I'm going to start up p90x at the beginning of September so I'm trying to make as much progress as I can before then. I should be that much better off to start it by then. We will see if I am up to the challenge though!

My goal is to also get under 200 by the end of this week. I need to lose 3 lbs though instead of just your 1. So I'll have to be kicking by butt the whole time and making sure I keep working out. Awesome job, Timmy!

To shared success.

We can both accomplish what we want to this week, just keep at it. I am doubling up on my exercise for this week to kind of drive the point home, 40 miles on the stationary a day, standard Bowflex M/W/F routine. The calorie burn this week is going to be rediculous, as I have already burned 1,500 today.

I will earn a weekend of relaxation by first sweating for 5 straight days of blissful torture. Sometimes I feel like my exercise habits make me a massochist, like I want the exhaustion, it seems to drive me harder. It is a sickness I am ok with, because it produces results. :)
