Club 200 Plus

wow our BMI's are practically the same (starting, current and goal).

No way, let's party!

awesome. At the rate I'm going (10 pounds a month) I'm probably not going to be out of this club for a LONG time. I think I should start stepping it up. The motivation for dieting is all there but I am a total lazy couch potato when it comes to exercise.

Do what I do; treadmill in front of the TV. Win/win.

I think when i averaged out my weightloss it came to 2.8 pounds a week so your on track:) 5 or 6 months and you will be welcomed into the 190s club. Would that be sweet:)

What I started doing recently was splitting up a snack that I crave into 3 or 4 portions that must last me the entire evening. I'll start off by downing 6-8 oz. of water, eat one portion then down another 6-8oz. of water right after I finish it. Wait one hour and if I still feel like eating that snack I repeat the process. Sometimes I will finish the snack in 3-4 hours, other times I have some left over and save it for the next time. The down side is possibly needing the restroom at night from drinking so much water but I'm dropping weight so I'll take it. I drink the water the same way with my meals, it helps.

That is a great idea!! I'm stealing it!

Been an absolutly great week for me. Didnt lose anything last week but i kept faith and have just lost the final 4 pounds. Ill post it in here because this is where i feel most at home on this site. Hi There =)
I just need some advice before I totally just.. well I can't afford to give up but I feel myself just losing energy because nothing is happening and I feel I'm trying so hard. Here's my problem. I started in August 2008 at 225. I lost down to 195 by walking 4 miles a day. Then in Jan this year I fell on the ice while walking and went through a spell of back spasms which kept me down. Now after diagnosed with OA degenerative disk desease in my back and previous surgery to cut away AO from my feet. This weight has to come off because I slowly see myself becoming disabled if It doesn't.
So the weight came back on to 217 until last month when I found out about my spine. Weight was coming off until this last week.I do my exercise bike for 25 min and my wii fit for 30 min. Not much walking as I live in the boonies and still the roads are a bit Icy and uneven.
I'm drinking Hydroxycut twice a day for appetite and energy. I'm not starving myself but have limited my fat intake drastically and my calories. My wieght has been bouncing for a week at 211-212. I wonder if the hydroxycut actually is keeping me from losing or what???? I always thought the more you weigh the faster it would come off. Duh! I am really upset this morning after seeing my scale go up again.
Its hard to keep the motivation when you know you are trying, and you give excuses for the weight going up or staying the same every day. Then after seeing it for a week..the excuses just dont count anymore and you start thinking...What the hell??? Its never going to come off!! Can hydroxycut inhibit weightloss?
Well.. thanks for letting me vent. I think my husband would be so disgusted with me if he knew I weighed this much. (haha...like you can hide an elephant!)

Familyweese, Congrats!! Thats amazing!
What are you doing that is working so great? Can you give some tips. I think this is awesome your doing so good. Its really motivating to me. Thank you for sharing =) I am so stuck, lol.. I need all the motivation I can get.

Finally..the weight is starting to come off!! Man..I am not the most patient person. I think this is going to be the end of me! lol

Hello, Redneckwoman and everyone! It's been a few weeks since I was here, and it's all great reading since then!
Congratulations to all of us! those who have reached mini-goals (half-way to half-way!), and those who are just slogging on -- and especially to oisin11178!

UKMiss, I am totally in agreement with your maxim: "breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner (evening meal) like a poor person". Of course different things work for different people, but that's what's working for me, along with not eating late -- I try to have my evening meal ("tea", I call it!) about six p.m.

and the cold water trick as well -- and I'm going to be someone else stealing Aprilfool's manoeuvre to control snacking as well. Thank you, Aprilfool!

And walking! Natsky -- I was sorry to hear that you're losing faith in the flat-streets walking -- though I should be unselfishly glad that you're searching out more challenging hikes! But I'm still foot-slogging it through those streets, and I am sure it's helping get the weight off -- and I'm hoping it will make what's left of me less floppy, as well.

Now, my good news: I lose weight a lot more slowly than the rest of you, but then I'm older :( but ..... I've lost just pretty well exactly 10% of what I weighed when I joined up last October! That is, I'm nearly down to 210 from 234. Step by step! (and who is it says "keep on trekking"?? They're right! Editing to add: it's Natsky!! Great motto, Natsky!)

A question: is there a place around here with calorie advice? -- currently I'm wondering how much a chunk of fresh pineapple is in calorie terms. Yum!

I have my old name i remembered the password! Had trouble with ticker though but its ok lets rock and get this weight off!

Well its slowly coming off. On advice I received I started counting calories. I have never done this before because it seemed like a big pain in the butt! But after just one day of doing it I am hooked! (and I hate numbers!) Now I get a better picture of what I'm putting in my mouth. I used to feel guilty for everything I ate and now I dont feel guilty at all. I dont think it was the hydroxycut that was keeping the weight on anymore but I dont think it helps either, other than just that sweet drink that stops the craving in the afternoon for munching. Afternoon is my hardest time.
Does anyone have any tricks to overcoming that "munchy"time of the day?

My favorite snack at night is either popcorn (not the bag, you want air popped) or special K celeral. I'm doing alot better on the munching part since I have been on my diet for a little while now.

I was taking the hydorxy cut as well when I first started my diet. After a couple weeks I stopped using it and it's funny because I did not notice a difference in my weight loss, so I waisted my money on those pills. So now I'm pill free and working my way to the 199lb goal.

Ah! Special K..that sounds good! My husband eats chips at night. I can smell them in the bag. Special K would help a lot. Thanks for the idea.
I have been off the hydroxycut for a day. I had the drink mix. I am noticing my energy is going down and my commitment waivering. I dont know if its because I ran out or just a slump. I'll grab some again today and see what happens. My workout was even effected yesterday because I lacked the energy to finish it. I think the hydroxycut was maybe helping me because it had a stimulant in it. I tried to get it yesterday with coffee and green tea but it didn't work. But then... It might have just been me.
Good luck all =)

Hi Sjm! I am "littlebitnorth" on sparkpeople too. I will look for you and friend you on there. I am new there too so not that adapted to all the in's and outs, but getting there.
We can do this!! I had a sleepover with my niece and nephew..had a few snacks and today up 1.1 lbs. Ugh! Overall though, changing my history here where I would just use that 1.1lbs to give up. Silly but thats what would happen. This time..no way! Its just a hic-up in the lifestyle. Even skinny people go up a pound or two ..the thing is, they probably have no idea. They just carry on and resume their lifestyle.
I cant wait to see the last of 200!!
