Resting hr

Hi Holly, thanks for your immediate reply, you will need to work out what your resting heart rate is, to do this you need two place 2 fingers on your pulse (usually the first 2) and count how many beats per minute.

I would say your fat burning zone is around the 120bpm mark - if you can give me your resting heart rate i can give you a more accurate reading.

Thanks again

Anthony

Hi Anthony,

My resting HR is 66 BPM. I am going to check it out online as to what my fat burning zone should be, but I am interested to hear what you think also!

That's what I didn't understand. After five months, it's cheaper to just pay the $200.

I dont know how it works out, maybe I was wrong...hmm..
but I know there is a 160 fee every year for planet fitness, at curves its only a one time fee. I think they just about work out together. Thanks for opening my eyes.

thanks :)

I am loosing motivation big time. I haven't been to the gym in a week today... my portion sizes have gone to the wayside. It's been rainning for 4 days, ice everywhere. I have finals coming up.. excuses excuses.
I need some advice on how to get out of this downward spiral before I end up back where I started or worse!

h.

I know what you mean about lack of motivation. I hit the end of my spiral, how convenient that the spring weather is finally hitting. Didnt need to where a jacket and only wore a tank top. But I would just think ahead. I would actually walk in icky weather. May just want to try stuffing yourself into a winter jacket and just walk. Thats what I did. I actually enjoyed the crispy air, however, eventually the weather did get to me.

I hope you dont spiral down too far. Sometimes its a lesson... its like when I reach a plateau. I gained weight back and started putting myself down. Dont do that, just believe its going to pass, keep working at it. If you don't want to go out, get some dvds of aerobics, they can work. I bought Richard Simmons newest dvds. They are fun, but most peeps find my outside.

but keep trecking hun. You will do this. You can do this. You may falter sometimes, we all do. I know I did. I gained thirteen pounds back, only six more to lose and I am back where I was in May.

best wishes hun... :)

keep treacking

So here's a fun turn of events.. my scale has been wrong this WHOLE TIME. It was actually showing me 6 lbs lighter than I actually am.....:puke: So now I'm back up to a weight I thought I'd already passed... what a dissapointment.

Obscura... I know how you feel. I had to buy a brand new digital scale. It was disappoiting. for a long time I was getting down on myself and realized, now I just need to continue, but start over. A sense of now came upon me.

Dont let it get down you too much...

just keep trecking...

Congrats!! Thats amazing!!

I hope you reach your ultimate goal. :)

I just entered the club. I am finding the peeps nice here. I have read back a few pages. And I see some are from the club in which "pink_clouds" started, Like Camera and Kevi...

I am happy to have found a spot... where I can vent, chat, and get to know others in the 200s...

Congrats again!

Hello all,
I am kind of new at the whole club thing again. I was in "pink_clouds" club numerous months ago. It kind of died out and I have been off and on here. I never wrote, because I didnt know which 200 club to be on. But I am curious as to what happened to Pink_clouds. But I am definitely liking this club. You all seem very nice. Cheery and very helpful and in leaving posts here and in my diary, I kind of seem to be motivated once again. How very strange it seems to me. I started back a year ago and lost fifty pounds as of May, but hit a nasty plateau at 270 and havent gone under, but have gained. icks. But I am down to 276.4.. every oz counts I say! Its the only way I get by, because mine is such a slow weight loss. But I am hoping to lose another 100 pounds and get down to 170-175 pounds. And if that is not far enough I may take it down another five or ten, depending on how I feel.

but I hope to get to know you all and wish you all the best ...

I have found I am expanding my gut into an apron on my lower abdomen. Not good! I have bought weights and am using them and doing leg exercises that do involve the lower abdomen and man does it burn. Its burns bad. My past therpist had been shocked I did this one move, because its so hard. But I want to really lose this weight. I have come to realize, maybe it does not take too much of a price tag to lose weight and gain muscle, maybe I just need to be more inventive.

Having an apron is my biggest fear. I know I won't escape this, because I carry most of my weight in my middle area. My fiancee says that since I am loosing this weight slowly, I have a better change of my skin adapting to the weight loss.

I just gained 7lbs out of the 13lbs I initially lost. So, that makes my overall loss at 6lbs for month 1. I am mad at myself, because I went crazy last week with not sticking to my diet and drinking numerous amounts of soda, instead of water. So this week is back to the "diet" (and when I say diet, I mean my lifestyle change).

Hey everybody just wanted to stop in and say how is everyone doing. Auntie don't let it get you down we all have our times when we just get down and feel like giving up. Just remember that you have friends here to help you get back up when you fall. Congrats to everyone who has lost. I myself have been bouncing between 222-224 the last 2 weeks so maybe I will have a breakthrough soon and get into the 2teens. Everyone have a good day and remember to take it one day at a time.

Thanks to everyone for your kind words.

Tomorrow is a new day and I am going to wake up and regain control! I am finishing off the last of this paper which should leave me feeling both exhausted and accomplished. Through your experience I am learning that this isn’t easy... and that we ALL have set backs at one point or another, which is NORMAL.
Those who succeed are the ones who lost the weight because they stayed focused on the goal even when things seemed to be going "backwards". I am really trying to keep this is mind.

Knowing that a small battle has been one makes the bigger one seem possible.

Thanks Natsky and FamilyWeese the pick me up!

I need help. I've been stuck in a binge cycle and can't seem to break myself out of it. What are ways that you all avoid over eating/eating things that you shouldn't?

I was once told the best thing to do to stop yourself from binge/over eating is eat breakfast like a king, Lunch like a prince and dinner (evening meal) like a poor person. Basically have a huge breakfast, medium size lunch and make your evening meal tiny.

I have a HUGE healthy breakfast every morning and I never feel hungry or the need to snack. Yesterday was the first day in 3 weeks that I didn't have a big breakfast and I spent the whole day snacking and binge eating because I didn't feel full.

Drinking freezing cold water is a good way to stop you from binge eating. The water fills you up and ice cold water speeds up your metabolism. I used to be an emotional eater or just ate when I was bored and I found walking stopped me over eating and made me feel better.

Get your desire back!!!!!

Hi guys, sorry I've been away to see my parents in Italy for a few days.

I've just skimmed over a few posts and read a few people are loosing motivation?

What is causing this loss in motivation? Is it lack of time during the day to stay on top of your weight loss plan?

Are you loosing focus?

I would take some time out and start to focus on why you want to loose weight in the first place, it will never work it your DESIRE isn't there.Get the DESIRE back, you know it is there, pull it out wave it about.

Get some posters in some key areas around the house, like in the kitchen reminding you of your goal!

Remmember how it made you feel when you were on the right track and you were getting results?

If you're watching a lot of TV...turn it off, you're more likely to eat more when you're sat infront of the television.

If you're stuck in all day, go out you'll have less chance of eating if you're outdoors and you'll be active which will help you become motivated again.

Whatever is causing you to change your weight loss plan, identify it and eliminate it, otherwise it will only get worse...TAKE ACTION!

Remmember you've worked hard to get to this point...keep it going, be PERSISTENT, the rewards will be amazing, you'll feel great, trust me.

to your success

Anthony

What I started doing recently was splitting up a snack that I crave into 3 or 4 portions that must last me the entire evening. I'll start off by downing 6-8 oz. of water, eat one portion then down another 6-8oz. of water right after I finish it. Wait one hour and if I still feel like eating that snack I repeat the process. Sometimes I will finish the snack in 3-4 hours, other times I have some left over and save it for the next time. The down side is possibly needing the restroom at night from drinking so much water but I'm dropping weight so I'll take it. I drink the water the same way with my meals, it helps.

i'm getting close to the 250's....I can't wait.
my "halfway to the halfway mark" is getting close too (260)

so i'll be posting soon to celebrate two things at once :cheers2:

awesome. At the rate I'm going (10 pounds a month) I'm probably not going to be out of this club for a LONG time. I think I should start stepping it up. The motivation for dieting is all there but I am a total lazy couch potato when it comes to exercise.
