Club 200 Plus

I am 6 pounds awayyyy, i'm on a plateau. Plateaus are ftl.

Wow. Good job man, maybe I need to start running myself annd by the way are you on a diet?

Hey Kevi12,

It is never a bad idea to start running, especially if you are playing sports like basketball. I'm not that great of a runner by any means, about as good as I am at basketball but my Nephew plays Basketball too. He is two years younger than you but he runs a lot so that he can stay in good shape and have lots of endurance etc and runs for an hour sometimes more.

Cardio will do your heart good, and since you do play basketball try jogging a little slower while dribbling, assuming that you go outside to do some of the running. That way you will still get the same amount of cardio in but you'll also find you'll improve on your game...

well thats my 2 cents anyway. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice :) I will try my best to do that while it's not cold yet. Maybe when it gets cold, im gonna start going to my nearest YMCA and run on the threadmill and lift weights all together. One more thing, is sauna good too?

I prefer sweatin the old fashioned way through hard work:coolgleamA:

But... On rest days I take full advantage of the extra benefits...

Okay I got a little update and I think i messed up my weight lol.
When i introduced i said i was 215 and when i looked at my physical paper from my school i was actually 228.7 lbs and then i weighed myself last night and i was 214 lbs :))

I didn't see this thread earlier and was thinking of starting one like this lol. Glad I found this one!!;) I started off at 289, I currently weigh 274 lbs (I lost 5 pounds this week woooooohoooooo:party:) and I have set my goal weight at 135. My physician recommended target weight is 115....but I'll see what 135 feels like when I get there! I am hoping to reach Onederland by the end of this year. I know I can do it, and I know that you guys can reach your goals as well. Looking forward to chatting with you all :)

Hi pink clouds,
Well done on the weight loss. It has been a while since your post. How are you going now?

OMG ITS ALIVE!!! The thread is aliiiiiiive!! :D (j/k)

Thanks for asking Elizabeth Rose. I am still the same weight as I was when I posted this some weeks ago sad to say. But I am looking forward to losing some weight this week. Glad to see your response!! I grew impatient and started a new thread for people who weigh 200lbs or more :) Not meaning to step on any toes. Really good people on that thread too! Quite a bunch of hotties actually :D

How are your weight loss goals coming along? Hope to see you around :)

Meh, pink clouds, don't believe on that BMI stuff, for me it's not accurate cause i lift weighhts and my legs, you can clearly see it that it's 90% muscles that's why i'm heavy. I would say, hit around 145 or under and that's good. :)

LOL pink clouds!!!
Hotties??? Out of my way!!! LOL...j/k...(or am I???)
Funny how some threads will cruise along for yonks, then seem to die off.
I will have to come by your thread, and have a look.
Don't get discouraged by any little hickups along the way. My highest weight was 286lbs and I'm now 228.8lbs. (At 5'2, I am quite a little pudding) I have been sick for the past 3 years, and the associated pain has rendered me very inactive. The past 6 months have been a nightmare, and I am not quite 8 weeks post op, and staring down the barrel of two more operations!
Having said that, I did start walking a couple of months before my operation, and that helped me lose quite a bit of weight, and tone up, prior to the operation.
I am hoping that in the next few months I will be able to get back into the exercise, but until then, I am just going to continue eating moderately; trying to keep my body as alkaline as possible, without going quite as far as some people I have read about; and taking my goji juice...mmmm.
I have lost 6.6lbs in the past week, because my appetite has gone AWOL.

Oops, sorry, did not mean to write my memoirs....

Best wishes for your weightloss goals this week...and every week.

Newbie here! I've had to convert my weight from Kilos or Stone, as i've noticed everyone is using lbs. Is that an American thing, because i'm from the UK. Anyway, i'm just under 250lbs and just over 6ft, looking and feeling like ****, with some nasty stretch marks on me that look like i've been pregnant! Since i left College (June 06), i've put on about 40lbs. This due to the obvious things, no exercise what so ever, drinking heavily and eating too much (ie when i'm bored). Started to cut down on my portions recently and started going to the gym on Monday. I think my aim is to lose the 40 lbs i put on, and maybe a bit more on top of that, even though i know it's going to be very difficult. Any advice or tips would be much appreciated.

Chris

Newbie

Newbie here too.

Decided it's about time I did something about my weight. I'm 6ft 8in and 344lbs (Just over 25stone when I started).

It's not so much my figure as my height cancels most of it, it'd just be nice to be a healthy weight, and not worry about always looking for large clothes etc.

My target: lose just over 10 stone and get down to 15 stone which is considered healthy for me.

Hopefully will have some luck now while doing so alongside others on this forum

Steve

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forums... and figure I'd start posting in this thread. I live in Minnesota and have been overweight all my life. (I am 19 now). Last November I decided I wanted to make a serious effort in losing weight. I stepped on the scale for the first time in months and was at 273 pounds. I was in total shock.. and said out loud 'I need to do something about this now before it gets worse'. I did pretty good, and about half way through December I was down to 263 pounds. I stopped trying, and went back up to 266 pounds.

Last week I was reading my journals from about a month back when I was doing so good, and got motivated to do them again. I am already down to 260 pounds only after 7 days. I have been losing a pound a day and am sure that kind of movement will stop soon, but I am up for the big challenge of getting myself down below 200.

I have been doing 30-60 minutes of cardio every night but one so far, drinking TONS of water, and a ton of green tea. I haven't been on a strict diet because those are just set up to fail for me. I just have been trying to eat healthy and watching my portions.. and thats been doing fine. I think the thing that screws me up the most when trying to lose weight is losing focus (one bad day turns into two, turns into 3... etc etc), so I thought posting on these boards as often as I can will keep me motivated. I look foward to losing weight with you guys and hope my huge walls of texts like the one I just wrote don't bore you too much =).

Swampy, great re-start! I've been on and off the weight rollercoaster for a minute, now. I got down to 208 (what a great day that was!) a few years ago, then wandered up to the 230's. I was there until I decided I'd stop dieting AND working out 6 weeks before my wedding. Now I'm stuck at 240!

I'm on a week vacation from school and trying to use this time to refocus and remember how wonderful it feels to be toned and work out.

Oh, and I read somewhere that the people who are most likely to succeed have charts of their progress somewhere prominent to them so they can focus. I have a weight loss chart on the back of my bathroom door, which helps, but I also have an inches lost chart. That one scares me into toning more often. :)

Good luck!

Hi everyone, it's been awhile! I moved over the "hotties" board since I think it gave me the kick I needed. I think I mentioned in a previous post that I joined WW as a result of watching Lynn Bering on TV one night. She inspired me to get back on track.

I've started Pilates (only once a week :( but would love more). My trouble is getting motivated the rest of the week. I'm out driving my kids to swimming, air cadets, karate and soon soccer. So I'm already out of the house 4 nights including Pilates. I hate leaving them for more nights, so what I'd like to get is a piece of equipment for home that I will "actually" use. Any ideas? I like the eliptical a lot but I don't want it to turn into a cloths-dryer.

I started a blog to record the weight loss AND the other stuff that happens in life. I really love the idea of getting my thoughts down on paper, even if when I re-read it, I sound like a dork! :)

Happy "hump" day!

Hello All,

I started my weight loss mid May 2007 after having visited the doctor. I had borderline high cholesterol, and I guess up for consideration for meds. I asked if it would matter if we waited a year to see if I could do something about it during that time. Considering my age of 35, he did not think it would be of much harm and wait a year. I much rather not have to take any meds at all, especially at my age.

My weight at that time was 369.7. At 5' 10", the charts showed my maximum weight should be 174...Wow. I figured for the goal weight, I should have a little play room in there, so I just set it to 170. Not sure how realistic this is.

The way I am, I despise pointless exercise(Gym type stuff, whether in home or not). I figured my best bet would be to attack this from the food/intake perspective. I read up on Weight Watchers to see how the plan works, and started doing things the way outlined in the book. I went the pure points route, so I would not be limited to any foods. After a couple of months of this, I just stopped counting, having gotten used to the system.

Things went really well until about the holiday season, as expected. Slowly I must have started eating more, as my weight loss slowed and stagnated. I just recently cut back again, and seem to be making progress.

The one thing I really noticed was you do not have to starve yourself, but you have to be smart about it. I looked at those lean cuisine meals, and all that...but the thing I noticed was they do not fully take advantage of good food. Example, they do not use the high fiber / whole wheat pastas...Some sauces are fatty where they need not be. I can have what looks to be a generous serving, but be really good for you. I think the market has a lot of room to grow here.

In any case, I am down to 261.3 today, a loss of over 108 pounds. Will be interesting to see what I get to by mid May, and how my results will turn out. The doctor may be a little shocked!

Thanks, and I look forward to reading up on this community :)

My first goal is to get under 250, then to get under 200. After that, I want to get under 180 so I can get a pair of these bad boys:

Holy Crap! What a great idea!

I wanted those the whole time I was growing up, but I was too big for them by the time I was in 4th or 5th grade.

That's such a great goal to reach for!!

Another way I've heard works well (especially when you feel sort of far away from goal) is to concentrate on 9, 5, and 0 rather than everything.
(So I'm 236 and when I hit 235 I say yay yay hooray and then start looking for 230. God only knows why it's so hard to go from 230 to 229, but it is, which is the reason for the other number).

Have fun! Thanks for reminding me of my dream!
