Club 200 Plus

late night

Aussie - you could watch the surgery channel on TV and hope it turns your stomach! :p

No, really, I like to eat air popped popcorn in the late evening. Very few calories, lots of bulk, and keeps the digestive system working and burning a few calories while I sleep.

M2M - a monthly weight loss tally would be kind of cool! I'll report mine at the end of the month. My June start weight was 235.

aussiechick - welcome! :) Hmm. Tips... well, none for me except fill your tummy with water and keep your mind busy... like posting online. ;)

M2M - Well, my summer routine is basically getting back to the basics. And every week I'll add something new/twist to the routine. :D

As for me... subtract another 2 km... so that's
177.37 km left!

Woot! Guys, we're almost there!
Since our challenge is coming to a close... Do you guys wanna start a new walking goal after this... Say... We walk to Florida to visit Disney World or something?

Or do you want a new challenge? Like a club water drinking challenge? Or something like that?

water

I like that idea, C. I could use the extra motivation to drink my water a lot of days. Maybe we could try to drink enough to fill a small pool! LOL

Weigh In

My weigh in went well, wanted more. Don't we always. The main thing I'm back on track and feel good about it. Did my running today, very surprising how I get so obsessed looking at my stop watch. I forgot to turn it on & it was so strange not having it. Actually problem a good thing.

Last Mondays weight 237.75
todays weight 230.25
weeks lost 7.50

Kms for the day 8

Troutman - great result! Congratulations:)

Kms for the day 12.44kms plus troutmans 8kms brings the total to
156.93kms .
I can feel the brisk breeze of the Rockies blowing on my face as I type;)

A July challenge sounds interesting, how would the water challenge work? I wouldn't mind going on another walk.

Hello everyone. Am new to this and I want to achieve my goal like most of you guys do.

I started out at 245 and now at 227 I want to get to 145 I know I have a huge amount of weight to lose but I know I can do it with support. This is the first time I go to a forum like this and I hope it works.

Everyone keep up the good job on losing weight you are all an inpiration on your weight loss.:D

Hi Cov

Hi, Cov! I started at 245, too. And my goal is 145, too! Well, you can see all that in my ticker, but I thought it was a neat coincidence. Glad to meet you! Welcome to the group. :D

Hi Cov :)
Welcome to the forum!

Joining this forum has given me the motivation that I really needed too. I feel held accountable (and I know twinmom would kick my butt if I slacked off!)

What are you doing differently now that you're losing weight?

As for a club challenge - I'm in for whatever you guys are up to. If it's water, I drink 72oz a day, no less, sometimes more if I finish my 3rd 24oz sports bottle early in the evening (but that's rare).

I'm also up for a distance challenge too :)

I'll also post my monthly loss on 01 July so that we can add up how much we've all lost combined this month :D

Hey!

Hey guys! Sorry it's been so long since my last post! Things have been crazy here. I think I've hit my first plateau...I haven't dropped anything in 5 days (it's usually every 2 days). Any suggestions to get jump-started again? I've increased the workout...20 minutes on elliptical and 10 on stationary bike for a cool down. Let me know what you think! Thank you so much!

Hello everyone, I was browsing over your thread, and read all the pages of it. I would really like to join! ^-^ Everyone here seems really nice, and supportive of eachother.

My name is Brittany. I'm 17, and I guess I weigh around 240. I'm sort of a yo-yo dieter. I start out pretty good for two weeks or maybe even a month, then I go straight back to my old ways. About a month ago, I was trying to exercise everyday for about 30 minutes on my treadmill. I figured it was better if I ate less everyday. Basically, I wouldn't ever eat breakfast, unless it was a bagel from Panera's. (During school, my friend and I go like everyday.) Then I didn't eat anything for lunch, and sometimes I either ate a big dinner, or nothing at all if I came home from work late. I know this is really bad for my metabolism and such. I've been reading up a lot more on nutrition.

I basically would really like to join for support, since I seem to always get depressed and stop my goals thinking, "This is hopeless, I'm always going to be fat and ugly." I want to be around 140 I suppose. I'm 5'7. I'd really like to join in on the walking to Banff Goal! Anyways, I can't wait to get started.

Blah, blah... Thanks for reading all this.

Hi lines, It's good to see you posting! As for plateaus, (not sure if you're male or female) but could it be hormonal? There are times when I know I will stay the same based on my cycle. How many calories are you eating? Are you counting?

I hope this plateau passes quickly for you!

As for the team challenge, I put in 2 miles (3.2kms) tonight which brings us to...

153.73

(and Jenn, where are we now?)

Hi VonAriste!

Welcome to the forum :)

I'm glad to read that you're reading up on nutrition...really, breakfast is fundamental in my opinion. You need that fuel to get through the day!

The great thing about this forum is that I feel "held accountable" I know that I'm going to have to come here and be honest with myself. Coming here also keeps me focused, I really didn't want to be obsessed with food or "The Diet" but I am much more conscience of my food choices now.

Just know that you are IN control of any weight changes in your life. You CAN do this!!

Hi, von

Hi, Von! It's great that you are ready to lose the weight and that you are seeking support. I think support is a big key to success. A lot of us on this thread are pretty new ourselves, but one thing we have in common is that we have looked for support to get us through those tough first weeks!

I have personally found that keeping a food journal helps me to stay on track calorie-wise, and that is something you might consider doing. Most importantly, you just have to get to know what you are putting in your mouth. It is surprising when you start adding up the calories just how much you are eating - or at least it was to me!

It is NOT hopeless, and you do have the power to change your body for the better. You can get fit and healthy, you just have to learn and train yourself. We all do! But we can do it together. :) I'm glad you want to join the trek. Walking is about the easiest and best kind of exercise you can do to start. Hang with us for 30 days. You'll learn, you'll feel better, and you'll be on your way!

Kms for the day 8 (5 miles) - new record for me by a lot:cool: 54:48. :) This is something I have wanted for a long time. This time also puts my 4 miles by a lot, I just don't know what the time at 4 miles was.

Cov7980 & VonArtiste - Welcome glad to have you. It will help you a lot if you keep posting.

Kms for the day 8

welcome to the club Cov7980 and VonArtiste! :)

well, the water challenge... I'm not sure. We can try to fill an Olympic pool but that seems like ALOT of water. So maybe just a regular pool? We can all just try to subtract it like we do walking. Or we just keep the walking challenge. It's all up to you guys. I'm just throwing out ideas. :)

And I walked about 1 km today. So we're now down to...
144.73 km!!

That means we've walked 434.27 km all together!!!
This means we're in Mount Revelstroke National Park guys!! :D

Ain't it pretty? Take in the folks guys!

We'll camp here for the night before moving on. ;)
here. Someone hold the map...

;)

There's no towns or cities from now til Banff. There is another park on our way soon though. So our next big stop before FINALLY hitting Banff will be going through Glacier National Park. :D

Cov7980 and VonArtiste - Welcome to the Club.

I've only recently joined as well. I find the support and knowledge that I'm not the only one going through this quite motivational.

Von, I can't stress enough the importance of breakfast! Though I'm sure you're more aware if it since reading up on nutrition:) I think we all at some point or another feel like giving up when that goal weight seems so far away, especially when we've had a bad day, or we've plateaued, or we feel tired and that 2 km walk just doesn't seem worth it. Just take it one day at a time(corny but true:) )or even 1lb/kg at a time and remember you're not alone! Knowing you're in control of food and not vice a versa is very empowering, if only I had recognised that at 17 and not 44!

BTW my first mini goal is to lose 5 kgs for July.

If we do a walking challenge in July how about I take you on a scenic tour of Australia. Maybe a nice coastal trek would be nice:)

Breakfast

Thanks for welcoming me everyone!

I was wondering though, what do you guys like to eat for breakfast? I noticed that M2M likes to eat yogurt. (I was browsing her journal a bit.)

Howdy aussiechick and vonartiste----- aussie yall go ahead and walk around Im going bush. can always use the extra challenge. Ill even try to bring yall a croc if it dont get me first lol.......

Vonartiste....honestly I never was much for breakfast. I would eat whenever normally about 3-4 in the afternoon untill I got this

You have to start eating breakfast or im gonna have to come kick your butt.
and well it helped. I feel loads better now that i eat breakfast even if it is just a piece of wheat bread running out the door. I think my favorite breakfast is a breakfast sandwich. I get two slices of wheat bread, a couple slices of turkey bacon, two eggs, and I normally fry the eggs in the microwave I just spray a plate with some of that no calorie cooking spray put the eggs on a plate and cook it for a min or so. It normally comes to 300-350 calories depending on the bread and which brand of turkey bacon im using. Its heavy enough to keep me satisfied till lunch. Now the guiltless fried eggs in the mikey arent the way mamma fixed um but on a sandwich they are fine.

I only walked 1.6 km last night- so we're at

143.13
