Club 200-250

My weight has gone up a bit, today and yesterday, but still a downward trend overall.

Hey Kyle, you know that happens with weight, up and down in the short term. Its the trend that matters.

Its Monday of my weigh in process and it looks good for a loss, if this sticks I will officially be below 200! We'll see what Wednesday brings.

Thanks Amy! You welcomed me into the 250 to 300 club, helped push me into this one, and if I am lucky Wednesday you should have the chance to push me into the 190s club!

You are a great cheerleader, thanks!

Weigh in day 2 and I am still down, below 200. A little less down that yesterday but still enough to be out of here, if it holds on Wednesday!

198 this morning, so I am out of here!

Kyle, I'll leave the lights on for you, and check in now and then. Does your goal include getting out of this club?

You bet. My goal weight would be around where you are now. Congratulations on you success.

I am a little baffled that my weight is not going down much. A little annoyed too. But I don't want to tamper with the situation by adding in more rules. I want to give this IF a few more weeks to see what happens. At least I am not really gaining weight at this point, so I think I can deal with a little stagnation.

I've decided that the level of control that IF is giving me is enough reward for me to keep doing it, even if my weight doesn't go down dramatically. And there are definitely health benefits to IF. I will keep this project going and passively monitor my weight.

I think you are wise to give the IF a few more weeks. Its probably too soon to know how well its working. Weight loss is always three steps forward and two back, down over time, but not always in the short run. You know that! But I can certainly understand your impatience, we all feel it.

I have been questioning this current strategy of IF. I have been really enjoying it, but I have not been losing weight. At least it's keeping me from gaining weight.

I keep remembering my promise to myself that I would not give up on my weight loss "no matter what happens". But I realize now that going from 280 to 250 is not the same experience as going from 250 to 220. I simply don't have the same motivation.

So I prayed a little about it and got to the conclusion that I need to brainstorm some additional project to do at the same time. The idea that stood out the most was "Drink only water (no coffee, milk, juice, etc.). It won't make me feel starved. It might help with my frequent head/neck aches. I think they may be related to coffee. The pain usually makes it very hard to focus on eating healthy. And it might help strengthen my fasting period. I have been drinking ice coffee with a splash of soy milk during the fasting period. So switching to water only might intensify the benefits of the fasting. It seems like something I could try for a long time.

So here we go folks. Let's see if this helps tip the scales and get my weight loss rolling.

Best of luck with it Kyle!

Don't let not losing weight for a time bother you. We all have plateaus, even me. If you have recently started or increased exorcise that can actually cause a plateau. LaMa explains it as your muscles taking on more water. That is probably true, but I know from my own experience its real. It also doesn't last a long time, maybe a couple of weeks at most and then weight loss continues, often more rapidly than before.

You can do this!

Drinking more water is generally a good idea though, so definitely try that! Just be careful, if you´re not a big fan of plain water, that cutting out other drinks doesn´t lead to you getting dehydrated because you can´t be bothered to drink enough when the "good" stuff isn´t available.

Thank you, friends. Luckily I am able to keep drinking water throughout the day. Since I don't have to prepare it, I have ended up drinking more than I usually do. I hope this helps.

I noticed that I am endulging too mich on the food that I know is the worst for my weight loss (bread, cookie, panko, chip). My main diet strategy has been to stay away from those foods, but it has been hard to draw the line. So I decided to make it official that I would not eat those. So no more exceptions. I think it is holding me back to allow those foods into my diet. So I have to grit my teeth and hope that this is managable.
