Check out one of the sites like My Fitness Pal or Cronometer & put in your info- height, weight, how weight you want to get to & choose the rate you want to go with, eg a lb a week or 2 lbs a week & they will guide you.
 
I downloaded one and recorded my calories today. For sure it helped me eat control my eating at dinner. My recommended goal was 2094 daily calories. Sound like a good goal for weight loss?
 
Sounds like it should let you lose a pound or so a week at your current weight. Which would be great!

Sure, you probably won't lose weight as fast as you did on your diet a while back, but that may be a good thing. Like LaMa's signature says a decent sustainable diet is best! And a pound a week is not bad.
 
I have been really happy so far with the calorie counting. My weight started dropping more consistantly. I am trying to get cpast the 240 mark. My first goal will be 220 lbs. Then I will go for 200.
 
I am down to 240.8 today. Real progress lately. I feel better already. I expect to be under 240 by tomorrow. Thanks everyone for your support. It has made a big difference for me. I feel like I can get down to 220 within the next few months. It's bringing a lot of happiness for me during this lockdown.
 
I am very proud to say that I have finally gotten out of the 240s. It has been half a year since I got under 250 and I have been bobbing around the 240s range ever since. Right now I am 239 lbs.! I am so so happy. FINALLY.

The calorie counting IS helping in addition to the 18hr intermittant fasting, only drinking water, and limited food options. To be honest, I didn't think I would be able to handle all of this, but I AM able to. It mostly took a leap of faith to try the calorie counting, but since Cate and other people suggested it, and I trust all of you, I decided to open my mind and try it. It is something that is really bringing results for me, and I feel like it is a sustainable weight loss method for me. Thank you, guys.

Next mini-goal 220s! Omg, I can't believe I just said that. It has been years since I wad in the 220s. Can't wait!
 
Last two days I stayed at 239. But since my weight often spikes a few pound after weight loss, I am pretty happy that it has remained under 240 so far. I expect to see 238 tomorrow.
 
My wife made pork rib stew yesterday. I usually eat a large bowl. But I only ate half a bowl because I know it's high calorie. I also felt extra hungry yesterday. So when I weighed myself I was really worried what the resuots would be. But I am down to 235!!! 4 lbs. I am so happy. I will be a little extra cautious what I eat today so it doesn't bounce up again.
