Cate's Diary

Thanks, Em, Liza & Skurgeon. I hope the weight drops soon, but I'm right with being on track regardless. I had a good weekend but it was very tiring & I haven't felt up to much today. I did sleep very well, thanks Skurgeon. Are you a skinny surgeon? :)
R made the final 8 in the pool comp & I'm glad I wasn't there to see him get beaten as he was really disappointed with himself. He has such high expectations of himself & is very hard on himself. I wonder who he gets that off? :blush5:
Both days I ended up leaving G in there to watch to the end as a young friend(M) said he would drive him home & both days G rang to ask me to go into our local town to pick him up to save M further driving. I did lots of driving & LOTS of walking & that's why I am exhausted.
I did take Arch for a 2.5 km walk before lunch, but he'll only be getting a shorter walk at about 4 pm.
I have gone 15 out of the last 16 days without any alcohol. I took a bottle of alcohol-free bubbly to my SIL & BIL's yesterday to have with lunch. I just realised I didn't log that :svengo:
Then I checked out yesterdays food & I added something else in twice. 1627 cals, 631 deficit!

Skurgeon is a combination of scourge and surgeon. Because I’ve in the past had a huge pirate like beard and I’m very surgical at the way I attack all problems. ‍☠️

:D I like your new picture! And I hope you reminded G that in saving M a bit of driving he caused you to do a LOT of extra driving.

Yes great picture :)
I'm glad the weekend went well and hope your day of rest afterward has you feeling refreshed.
I'm impressed that you got out on a couple of good walks despite feeling tired--easy to just stay inside and lounge instead! I guess little Arch is also a good motivator!

Thanks, Liza. Little Arch certainly is a great motivator, but so are you. I included some running in my 2nd "walk" & thought of you. It wasn't a lot of running & it may have also been that it was cold & I wanted to get back inside, but I did run. I alternated running & walking. I won't do that often as Arch is only a little dog & it wouldn't be fair. It felt good though.
I feel really refreshed this morning after a good night's sleep. I woke a few times to go to the loo though as I drank so much herbal tea yesterday. I was well & truly hydrated.
Yesterday 1351 cals, 357 deficit.
BF this morning was some peppered venison on sourdough oat toast plus I had half a small glass of organic pure apple juice that R left us. He now also works for an organic juice press that only uses glass & no plastic. He has 3 part-time jobs. BF 457 cals. I think I'll leave the juice to G to drink. You're better off eating fruit.
After watching pool at the weekend & after being asked by 3 people if he was going to play in a tournament next weekend we are now going away next weekend so that he can participate. He has really missed it I know. I have booked accommodation for 2 nights & Arch will go into the fancy kennels along the way. We will go out for dinner on Friday night to a favourite Thai restaurant.
I am happy to be doing dry July. Not drinking could become my new habit ;)

Nice to hear about the walk-run!
it may have also been that it was cold & I wanted to get back inside,
Yes--gets you home quicker, but also good way to keep warm on a colder day too!
I'm glad your knee didn't hurt during it too.

I woke a few times to go to the loo though as I drank so much herbal tea yesterday.
Ah yes--I'm trying to note on how to time my drinking so it doesn't interfere with my long walks or my nights!

I have booked accommodation for 2 nights
I hope this time the accomodation will be properly scent-free!!

Thanks, Liza. I think I am going to have to cut down my evening hot drinks. Because I take anti-histamines I am always thirsty during the night so when I do wake up I usually have a mouthful of water, which means I then wake up again.....& so on.

I'm not feeling great this morning. G woke up early as Arch had thrown up on our bed. I cleaned it up & remade the bed & got back into it. It was freezing this morning & there was a big frost. He then got up early & had a shower. When he couldn't find his golf shoes he got his knickers in a twist. He always assumes that I have put them somewhere. He kept going on & on about it & looking everywhere he thought they could be. "Are they in the car?" I asked. "No, I wore them home last time," he said. I got out of bed & he was still going on about them. I knew he had an old pair in the garage so I went down there to get them, still half asleep, but also crabby with him for going on & on about his bloody golf shoes. I was walking really fast & tripped over a strip of concrete that is usually not sticking out much on either side of the front of my car. I landed really hard on my side & have hurt my right ankle, hip & knee, both wrists & my right shoulder. Luckily I didn't hit my head on the concrete floor. It took me a while to be able to get up.
I was really angry with him & even more so when he said: "these falls are a worry". It was all I could do not to yell at him. 10 minutes later I went out to his car & opened the bag where his shoes usually are &, of course, there they were.

I had been thinking of going out for a hit today to see if I would be able to play on Sunday week, but I don't think I'll be going anywhere today. I hurt. I'm glad he has gone for the day.
Cals yesterday 1424, deficit 261

Oh no Cate, I'm really sorry to hear you got hurt. Have you been falling a lot lately? I hadn't picked up on that from your diary.

Anyway, take it easy today! Get lots of protein in for quick healing. Sleep is also marvellous. Take care. x

Thanks, Em. No, I haven't been falling. I think G just tried deflecting it. If he hadn't been ranting it wouldn't have happened. I hate it when he does this. I will take it easy today. I think when I get up next I will have trouble moving as it hurts sitting down in my recliner. I have Arch on my lap & I'm in front of the fire. Luckily my book is within reach. I'm reading "The Verge Practice" by Barry Maitland. It's quite a good book.

Oh dear Cate--that's terrible about the fall and hurting yourself like that. Sounds like a very bad start to the day altogether. I hope the day turns better--sounds like a good choice for the book and recliner! Take care and heal fast!

Thanks, Liza.
I’ve calmed down. I was going to go into town today to take Arch for a walk & do some shopping but have given up on the idea & am back in my chair, drinking herbal tea, with Arch who is snoozing. I just finished the book.
I’ll go into town tomorrow.

Thanks, LaMa. I hurt in so many places! Nothing broken though. I took Arch for a very short walk & had to ignore his looks all afternoon. I hope I don’t feel much worse tomorrow.

Thank you, Milana. I hope so too :)
