Cate's Diary

Party, party indeed! what a wonderful day!

Thanks, LaMa & Liza. It was a very good day :)
We are going to one of G's 1st cousins' house today for lunch. L, one of G's sisters decided earlier this year that it would be good to have a cousins get-together & we all went to lunch at a restaurant. It was quite pleasant. She then proceeded to organise another one & this cousin volunteered her house. I really do not want to go. Our quarterly family get-together is fine, but the cousins one is a step too far for me. L is really into family history & they banged on about it. We had an outlaws end of the table. *sigh*
R should hear from his lawyer today with the official good news *fingers crossed*
I am leaving Arch at home, inside today. I did yesterday for 3 hours when I went back to pick G up. He does need to get used to it as I can't take him everywhere.

Fantastic news about R and the driving exam and the house!

I think sometimes those social occasions can be annoying but still beneficial!

Thanks, Em & LaMa. G & I went in early & did some shopping & managed to get everything on our list, which made the day a success. G's sister L banged on about family history & her & her cousins pored over old photos for most of the time, which was deadly boring. We outlaws sat up the other end. I was glad to get home to Archie.
R sounds really happy. We're having the day at home today & G is playing golf tomorrow & I am staying at home probably. I'll garden I think.

Hi Cate! So happy all is going so well for R!! And glad you got through the cousin thing ok. I am sorting though heaps of old photos and it is weird throwing out all these lovely keepsakes, but I have utterly no clue who anyone in them is, so I completely empathize! Nice you can come home and hug your happy dog!

Have to say I love a good root in photos and I am custodian of the family pics but would never subject other people to them . Congrats to R passing test . Does he need to do a driving test also .

Thanks, Liza, Marsia, LaMa & Petal :grouphug:
I don't think much gardening will get done as it's bucketing down. We need it though.
I'm not into nostalgia much & have heard so much about G's family for decades that I'm afraid it does bore me.
R is only 1 step towards getting his licence I'm afraid. There are 9 months of driving & logging his hours before he can go for his actual driving test :(
I don't think I'll be doing much at all today. The rain sounds very steady & settled in.
"Where the Crawdads Sing" by Delia Owens beckons. I'm halfway through it. That & a pot of herbal tea.....

That's just a matter of putting one foot in front of the other, so to speak, and will get second nature for him soon enough.
Enjoy your book!
I hope it does, LaMa. I did enjoy the book & couldn't put it down, although it did annoy me at the start, switching backwards & forwards. It's one of my pet peeves.
That with the rain pouring down outside sounds so cozy :)
It was cozy, Liza & I also had Archie on my lap :beating: The rain cleared & I did get to take him for 2 good walks & I did some gardening, so a good day :)
Is that book any good Cate? A girl at work recommended not reading it, haha.
It was a really interesting book, Em. I had to push through the switching backwards & forwards in time at the start, but then got really fascinated. I think it's well worth reading. Make sure you get to the end though as there's an interesting twist. It took me by surprise. I read the book in a day with doing lots of other stuff.

Oh, Liza. Can’t you get back into reading?
Petal- reading is so pleasurable as is walking :)
