Cate's Diary

Nice to hear you had such a great weekend Cate--sounds so lovely with all the nature about. I need to make more effort to spend more time in nature. Such a healing effect!
Good luck with the calorie counting!

I feel like that every day Cate. Hope the day goes well.
My day went ok, Em xo
Hi Cate, did it go well for R with the house buyer? Hope so! I know what you mean about a wake up call. I am really sad about gaining all this weight back and am determined to work my way back slowly but surely. :grouphug: So glad you enjoyed your trip so much!!
R’s buyer has an extra week to get his finances together which will stress him out. He failed his licence test for the 3rd time too. Hopefully he’ll pass today. Our trip was so good!

Nature is wonderfully healing. I must take Arch into the bush today- watching out for snakes!
Calorie counting went ok-1500.
I’m feeling a little flat this morning & out of sorts.

Sorry to hear that Cate - maybe I passed my black mood onto you. The good thing is that the cloud lifted today a bit for me - I'm sure you'll feel better as the day goes on. Make the most of it. :)

Thanks, Em. Moods go up & down & I try not to dwell on them. It’s a gloomy, overcast day today & that has maybe affected my mood.

At least you're in the bright time of year right now. Here the fog didn't lift all day and temps were close to freezing. Enjoy the Archiewalks!

Ouch! I will, LaMa. I wasn’t feeling sorry for myself, just mentioned my mood as a passing comment really xo

yes all the things that play into our moods--tough to pin down sometimes...
Hope you got out a bit into nature and didn't run into any snakes...
I thought of going into my woods here but the way the wind was blowing i thought it better not to...

I think it's worthwhile bringing my moods out into the open where I can look at them & try to work them out. My day panned out well. I went for 2 walks, that were thankfully snakeless. It was also really still. I hate it when it's really windy.
I'm glad to hear it :grouphug:

The day improved as it went along. I got a long-overdue chore done that I detest (going to the tip). ✔️

I am doing a lot of ticking boxes at the moment Cate . It feels good . Hope R gets his test today . And the financed work out for the buyer

Thanks, Petal. Ticking those boxes, even the seemingly insignificant ones makes me feel better. R failed his test again today. I think the questions seem to get harder each time. He'll get there. I'm a bit scared of how he'll be if the finances fall through. He's a bit down today.

I failed my driving test twice, just blacked out completely with no idea where we´d been or what we´d done afterwards. So my mom decided to take me with her to yoga for a couple of weeks and surprisingly just doing the relaxation exercises helped so much. Passed without a problem the next time I tried. Is it possible R gets too stressed about the tests?

my youngest son took a number of tries before he passed his practical test due to the way he stresses out when under pressure due to his ASD, my middle son gave up after 1 lesson also due to his ASD (he has mastered the bus system in Canberra) my eldest had ultra focus so passed 1st try. I cannot compare my test as I am old enough that testing was not as stressful as it is now.

My youngest still has one more written test to go from red Ps to green Ps

R has had 4 goes now for his written test. I did some practice tests online & failed well & truly. Hopefully 5 times lucky. He just needs some good news.

I would definitely suggest he takes a break from doing it until next week if he’s struggling. Trying to do something like that when you’re worried is generally not going to give you the result you need. Maybe try to get him to focus on the cabins for now. Just a thought.

Cate my daughter refuses to sit the written test until she had done and passed 4 Practice tests in a row as she stresses . It is a hard test . It’s important he sees every question at least once .
He will get there . Persistence pays off

Petal- I might suggest that. The written test is hard. There are so many questions. I made the mistake of changing my mind about a few of the practise ones & they were the ones I got wrong. He will get there- hopefully very soon. I feel he is down at the moment.
I woke up feeling good this morning. G is playing golf today at my local course & I am going to drive him in & pick him up so he can have a few drinks with his buddies. I'll take Arch this morning & take him for his favourite walk around the river.
I have kept within my calorie range the last 2 days & done 5000 + steps each day. My knee is slowly getting better.

A good day for lots of reasons, but some are-
R passed his test
I think the finances went through on his house.
I went for the full walk around the river, without any pain.
I caught up with a couple of old friends.
I kept within my calories, did over 6000 steps.
Felt good all day :)
