Cate's Diary

It is nice, Em. He & G are currently clearing some branches & a track for the truck to get through with his cabins. They’ll come one at a time & are 6 x 3 metres each. They’ll go across from our house & look towards the mountains. They need to come up before the end of the month.
I feel much better about his health now & so does he, which is more important.

I'm sure it's a load off your chest. Had to look up Currawong: looks a bit like a magpie and they can be vicious!

Currawongs are very curious birds, but not vicious. Magpies in Tassie don’t swoop you for some reason, like they do on mainland Australia.
That’s great Cate. What does he use the cabins for?
The plan is to set them up as a little house & maybe have one on a trailer that can become a portable tiny home.
That sounds so lovely!
It is a lovely spot.

We had a lovely night last night. A called up to see his uncle in his way to a dinner date, D & the 2 GK’s were here & got to meet K9 for the 1st time & G, D & R played snooker. It was really nice.
Currently G & I are in our dressing gowns with 2 dogs, D has gone to work & the others are still in bed.
All is quiet. It’s a beautiful day- sunny but a bit chilly so far.

It's really starting to sound like you've found the garden of Eden.
Friday night sounds lovely (never thought I'd say it but I'm jealous of the socializing you get to do!) and a quiet Saturday morning would be the best aftermath!

So Cate are you going to have people staying in the cabins then ? How many will there be . Sounds interesting anyway.
Your Friday night sounded good and I hope you had a lovely Saturday

It is a lovely place, LaMa & it’s only when I go into worry/logical mode that I ever think of moving. It’s a haven.

They will be R’s cabins, Petal & he can stay in them once they’re set up.
Our Saturday has been just lovely. It is wonderful seeing R happy again. His meds have reached a good level again, it was great having K9 here, we enjoyed the interaction between R, K9 & the kids & our 2 sons. Some healing needed to happen.
G, Arch & I are on our own again tonight & it’s very peaceful. 5 adults, 3 dogs & 2 GK’s is pretty full on!

Wonderful to hear Cate. i'm so glad that R is back on track and things are looking very positive indeed! Must be a great relief for everyone.
Glad you had some really good quality time with the whole family :)

Definitely sounds like it. And makes me miss irl family time.
Family time is just so important to the two of us & it has been lovely. One very sad thing that we realised is that R hadn't seen his young nephew & niece for a whole year. I don't think he'll let that occur again.

Thanks, Liza. It is a huge relief that he is much better. I am very tired tonight. With all the disruption Arch just wouldn't settle last night & I ended up bringing his bed into our room as it was late & we had to get up at 6 am. Instantly he went to sleep. 5.5 hours of sleep max :(
G played golf today & Arch & I walked around the town it was in for hours & then I drove home. It was 160 km. I am fairly exhausted. I hope I haven't overdone it with my knee. Even Arch is knackered. He's out like a light (at 6 pm our time). I did 9,000 steps.
I'm staying home tomorrow & resting.

Cate that sounds like a really busy day. Archie may want to be sleeping in your room all the time now guess you'll find out, bless him. At the moment Cate I have not seen my niece and inephew in the uk for two years if not more. Even the Irish ones is very limited now. It is a shame. Glad R is getting time with you now and it sounds like he will be alright with all the support . Hope you got a good rest today

Your knee wil probably be stiff when you wake up but other than that if it wasn´t painful or swollen by the end of the day you´ll be fine. Enjoy that peaceful Monday.

Hey Cate, I am just catching up with folks and it sounds like you are doing reasonably well. The cabins sound like a really good idea, kind of a guest house. Will they be wired and plumbed?

Your walk sounds good, tiring a dog out must mean it was fairly energetic. Hope the knee doesn't keep you from doing it again soon.

Ah, yes. We did find out. He slept in our room, but on his bed *sigh* He is one very strong-willed dog. He won.
It is not quite 10 am & I will be having a slightly lazy day I think.

It was aching a bit last night, LaMa, but is fine this morning. I'm glad I don't have anything I need to do today. Yawn zzz

The cabins will be connected to our electricity for now, but he'll get a composting toilet. Tiring the dog out also tired me out, but I am so glad to be walking without pain now. My tiredness this morning is just general tiredness & I should be right to take him walking again, but "not yet, Archie. Don't look at me with those big brown eyes!"

I'm glad your knee is feeling better Cate. I love your relationship with Archie--he sure has added so much joy to your life!

Thanks, Liza. I’m so tired today though & haven’t moved much.
He is a joy, but I think he owns me now. He’s being left at the groomers for 3 hours tomorrow. That will be interesting.

He'll be such pretty boy again afterwards! I hope my haircut won't take 3 hours though
