Cate's Diary

We have those bikes around here too and they drive me nuts. Happily they are mostly out of earshot, but ya that would drive me nuts having them on top of me like that! Good you waited to talk with them when you're feeling calm. And also good that there are some rules regulating where they can be ridden!
Very cool story about the dream catcher!! I love connections like that too! How happy your friend must have been to discover one of hers in your place :)

I haven’t spoken to our new neighbour yet as it hasn’t happened again.
The look on our friend’s face was amazing, Liza. We have only known her for a couple of years.
I’ll be away for a couple of days xo

Dirt bikes are popular around here, and I agree they can be very annoying. Hopefully they won't be an ongoing problem. When I was younger my brother raced motocross and always had dirt bikes, I enjoyed riding a little from time to time so I can understand the attraction. Irritating to everyone except the rider...

Enjoy your time away.

Hi Cate - I googled Hobart and saw that it was the capital of the "Australian Island state of Tasmania". I then googled Tasmania and saw that it lays below the most south-eastern part of Australia, is the 26th largest island in the world, and is 42% protected natural land. No wonder it looks so exotic in your photos.

This time a young child was riding along next to our fence line & going around & around.

Pee Wee bike are a bit loud any tinny with the noise, hope you can come to an arrangement with the neighbour. Everybody on my side of the family rides either dirt bikes or race motorbikes, but have not take the bike in the shed out for a long time, it probably needs a good service lol.

Hey Cate, are you home?

Thought of you the past few days. It is the end of our cherry season so I have been getting what I can from the local fruit stands and freezing them. That is something you suggested last year, I tried it and what a great idea. I think frozen cherries are as good or better than fresh and it gives you a great winter snack. I put them into packages of 20, about 85 calories, very convenient. I think I have now frozen over 100 of them, a good supply.

I am absolutely exhausted from the weekend & needed a day at home on my own to recuperate. I don't really want to go into it all in here. I'm mentally very tired.
I haven't had a word with the neighbour yet as they haven't been riding along the fence line again yet. I think he is a considerate guy & will understand, especially if he comes to our house & hears how noisy it is. I'm sure he wouldn't want to be responsible for us wanting to move. I want to get along with him. Hopefully, it won't happen again. He has 65 acres & a huge clearing well away from our house.
Our son is not taking his meds & hasn't been since Feb. He seems to think he can manage fine without them. None of us can make him take them & we have to try to step right back & just be supportive if & when he crashes, again.
Hey, Rob. I would love 10 cherries right now. I must stock up this cherry season & do the same. I really love cherries. Look at you still losing weight with the extra calories. Your metabolism will be so much better these days & I love that you are so active.
Thanks my friends for all the support. I'm not up to much in return right now, but I will try. Know that I read every post & I care :grouphug:

Thanks, Petal :grouphug: Hugs are always welcome.
So, somehow all the stress has helped me come to a few decisions about looking after my health & wellbeing. It’s even more important now. I’m going low-key for the moment until I’m used to the changes & I’m not weighing myself until next week at the earliest.
I got a really good night’s sleep last night with our household back to normal. G & I just got back from a walk & are about to have home-made chicken & vegetable soup for lunch with some gf croutons, also home-made. BF was eggs & avocado on oat sourdough toast. Dinner will be a venison meatball with lots of veg, followed by yoghurt & fruit.

Thanks, hon. One of my golfing woman friends rang to ask if she could visit & she just left. She was worried about me. That was sweet. We had a good talk. She's the one who says exactly what she thinks, takes no BS & I really like her a lot.
I just took Arch for a second walk. He & I are good for one another.

Thanks, Petal. I was really chuffed xo
