Cate's Diary

Sorry to hear that you have been so anxious Cate. You're absolutely right that you need to be kind to yourself. I hope circumstances will improve so that it makes doing so easier.

Very glad he had a chill day and is seeing K. That´s a great sign.
It is, LaMa. She thought so too. It’s a bad sign when he keeps those who love him at arm’s length.
Thanks,101. I’m really hoping our son goes back on his meds. We had thought he was becoming more manic for a couple of months & now know why.
I feel better this morning knowing that he is with K at her place. I slept really well.

Thanks, Rob. I still haven't spoken to him. He needs some time to get over a lot of stress, so I haven't pressured him to ring me and haven't rung him. He won't be going back to that workplace again thank goodness.

Glad your son is with K and that your mind can rest more easy knowing he's with her.
Thanks, Liza. I am glad he rang her Sunday. She is very special & deserves attention & is very good for him.
Ah good to hear an improved update. He is lucky he has a very caring girlfriend and mum
Thank you, Petal. He is a very caring & loving person.
I have had a nice day.

I did too much today on top of going to the dentist yesterday & am suffering now. I am absolutely knackered & not from healthy exercise. I left Archie home & completed a long list. I am so itchy! All these antiseptic hand washes are playing havoc with me.

Poor Cate. I hope a rest will be enough. For me a long bath often helps to right the wrongs of allergy but your asthma might disagree.

Thanks, LaMa & Rob :grouphug:
I made a pot of tea & settled in my chair in the afternoon & tried to have a nap. Next thing it sounded like a giant mosquito was just outside our house. Bloody trail bike! Our new neighbours have trail bikes but up until now they haven’t been riding between our house & theirs. This time a young child was riding along next to our fence line & going around & around.
I gave up attempting to rest after about 30 minutes & decided to take Archie for a walk down the road away from the noise. G arrived before I got far & he couldn’t believe the noise. I’ll have to ring our new neighbour today. I wanted to wait until I was calm. It’s illegal to ride a trail bike within 500 metres of someone else’s residence. The noise level was awful inside the house with the door shut.
We have friends coming for lunch today. We met them through R & they haven’t been here before. I had better get moving & do some housework. That’s after getting showered & dressed :blush5:

In my world trail bikes don´t have motors but I know what you mean. I hope this doesn´t end up being a wedge issue between you and your neighbors.

Are they called dirt bikes, LaMa? Anyhow- these bikes make a horrendous noise & have very loud motors. I haven't done anything yet about it. I'll be very careful. I think the father may have been at work & maybe doesn't even know. If it happens again I'll contact him & ask him to come over for a chat. I think I feel safe enough to tell him when we will be away & when it doesn't matter where they ride. He is our only close neighbour & we need to get along. He seems like a considerate person.
We had our friends here for lunch & it was lovely. They come from California but spend half their time between here & there. When I showed her around & we went into our bedroom she took a step back when she saw a dreamcatcher over the window near my side of the room. She asked where I bought it & said she made it. She knew for sure that she made it. I thought I had bought it at a craft fair & she attended only one back in 1992 & I think that's about when I got it. How amazing is that? I'll take a photo of it some time & put it in here. I have always loved it. It was really nice to have them here & they'll be back. They live south of Hobart, right near the beach. We have lots in common, but mostly it's a love of live music & our son.
I am feeling much more settled today & less anxious.

Wow that is amazing about the dream catcher . How lovely . We get bikers around here sometimes . Very noisy . Hope you get that sorted with the neighbours

It is amazing about the dream catcher. I love connections like that. She's such a lovely person & I love her being a part of our lives.
The bikes are small and noisy. This shows you what they are like- https://www.motosport.com/blog/the-difference-between-a-motocross-bike-trail-bike I wouldn't classify them as bikers or bikies. We have known many of each sort in our time, especially as publicans. We live in such a peaceful place that noise like that is even more shattering than somewhere where there is constant background traffic. I'll sort it carefully, but am glad I didn't contact him yesterday when I was really stressed out & upset.
