bluehats diary

I´m glad you´re getting some food from your family and I hope they´re not being nasty about it.

not too bad so far

an unbelievable fact?
1 of the 2 teeth i just had extracted
has been reinfecting for 15 years Every year
yep you read that right
they kept wanting to save it
the various dentists in the various cities
i lived in
and a few times i let them put the fillings in
but they kept falling out then a new infection
finally i said f it
and now its out
whew
still very sore but my bottom
lip isnt purple now

yesterdays food-
family made meatloaf (half of it)
todays food-
1 pork chop i fried
1 beef patty i fried

not doing well with the veggies tho
i just cant seem to make them taste good
i will keep trying
and going to get some frozen ones next shopping trip

Sounds like you're better off without that tooth for sure! Veggies tend to taste best combined with other things: maybe at first just add a couple of spoonfuls to something like that beef patty.

I put Tabasco on most of my vegetables to make them taste better. Works for me, but being originally from Louisiana I grew up on hot sauce. You might give some hot sauce a try. I also use some Nutritional Yeast as a topping sometimes, it helps too. Most hot sauces have no calories, and the yeast has very few.

getting very desparate
still gaining weight
despite significant calorie and carb reductions

that thing where if u dont eat enough your body stores it all
so eating more helps it-- doesnt work
i just gain more
stopping the binging didnt work either
i feel like im doing everything the dr says
its not working
and now i dont want to go back
they dont believe us if we did try

do i have to starve? do i have to resort to that again?

i dont want to go back to the drs and np's
if the weight issues going to come up again

and the incessant hunger is beginning to be distressing
but i know eating more wont help
do i stop the insulin and risk complications? (just a desparate question)
it makes ppl hungry too

i really feel in a box
and i want out

Hey Blue, sorry to hear that you are in distress. Your body cannot store all you eat, you have a base metabolism that will burn calories. If you eat less that may go down, but not away. Keep your calories down and eventually you have to lose weight.

Don't know about your insulin, but I would not stop it without a doctor's ok.

Hang in there, you can make this work!

Hi, Blue. I’m sorry you are feeling this way. Please don’t stop taking your insulin & do your best to eat as healthily as you can. I know it’s very hard for you to eat well, but it’s important that you get the nutrition your body needs. When you go to a doctor do you go in alone? Are you able to convey how hard it is for you? Sending you a hug :grouphug: as I can’t do much else.

i thot the weight gaining meds stopped causing weight gain
after a time but it doesnt seem so
i thot that 1 reason people could be hungry is because their body
isnt getting nutrients
but it doesnt seem so ( i eat way better now then i did)
i thot that exercise gave you more energy
but it doesnt seem so (i waited and waited and tried)
i thot(was told that) stopping binging would help weight loss
but it doesnt seem so
it appears that there are many myths out there

an example of the still being hungry from today
to illustrate what i mean

i took a 400 gram amount of regular ground beef
and divided it in 3
and mixed in
2 eggs calorie free spices a dash of parmesan cheese
half cup pasta sauce 1 onion
and made 3 meatballs
and baked 2 of them and sprinkled more
parmesan on top when done
and ate them at 230
i was still hungry but didnt eat more
2 hours later still hungry but becoming ravenous
and now really hungry getting sore hunger stomach

what i dont understand is that
those meatballs were alot of calories
i never should have been hungry when i was done them
im hoping i dont give in and binge from
the frustration of always being hungry for no reason

am i missing something is there something i cant see in this situation?

another example from yesterday
i had at least 5 cups of family made soup
with pepperoni and sausages and veggies in it
thats alot of food
in 2 hours my stomach was so hungry i could scream
it was growling

i really dont understand

I understand the hunger after eating at least. Those meatballs were less than 1400 calories. Definitely a lot for one meal but not a lot for a whole day. And if that soup was something like pepperoni pizza soup it would have maybe 250-300 kcal/cup. 5 cups of it would again be a lot for a meal but not a lot for the day. Definitely weightloss calories and I'd be ravenous.
And it's perfectly normal to find exercise exhausting when you're in a caloric deficit. It has to be just right to give you energy and that's really hard to gauge when you have a lot of medical issues.
The only part I don't understand is that you're still gaining weight when you eat this little every day and don't binge. I'd say weigh yourself (in the morning, after going to the toilet and before eating/drinking), write down exactly what you eat and drink for two weeks (including oil and butter; if it's family made just describe it as best you can and measure the quantity), weigh yourself under the same circumstances after the two weeks are up, and show the doctor both the diary and the scale result next time. Maybe hr can figure something out.

this weeks going to be just yogurt (until sunday)
and cottage cheese
because my mouth still hurts
and i had 1 store choice
best i could do
so 1 yogurt and 1 cottage cheese a day
within the (i still dont have a dr) camera dr suggestion of 8 hours
eating time
it was an unbelivable 40 bucks for that much food (plus it went over the 5 bucks a day food budget
with the cottage cheese being over 4 and the yogurts over 3 each)
twice in 8 hours is all the insulin allows anyway
as its active for 4 hours
if i had chosen different foods maybe not needed the insulin twice
but even the sugar free yogurt was 55 grams of carbs
the 4 percent cottage cheese was 20 grams
idk the calories yet at the time of writing this post
but surely its not too many

new goal--
eat twice a day within the suggested 8 hour time frame
and if certain foods are chosen not needing insulin
spread them out more frequently
to see if it helps stop so much hunger
if this doesnt work i already have the next goal
planned to try

may not work but im still trying lol

been thinking about my exercise limitations
outside of tooth pain
the 2 issues are swelling feet so mostly hard to wear shoes
and leg pain
which has gone down alot with no biking
been thinking maybe finding someone who will join the y with me
for swimming
the biggest barrier tho
is they dont have a true income based subsidy
so if i paid the required amount (plus 5 bucks every ride there)
meals have to be missed
so to solve this i could make sure i didnt swim on
no food days
plus spread out the no food days
to avoid fainting
not with any hopes of losing weight
but just for some exercise
i may have found someone but not sure the pools open yet

todays food-
cottage cheese 520 (500 grams size)
yogurt 557(650 grams size)

not what i want
i need more calories
but even if i bought real cheap processed foods
i cant buy enough calories
unless its real bad food
like a large bag of chips approx, 1200 calories and just 1 buck
or a large bag of cheesies under 4 bucks and 1500 calories

have to start the weight tracking in the morning

so when you see a poor fat person
think of what they might be forced to eat
what they can only buy
(not you guys- the ones who read and/or comment
on my posts- you guys are great)

I hate that is so much more expensive to eat healthily. I think it is much more important that you eat, hon.
