bluehats diary

i went to my normal store i get ground beef at
it was 2.79 one day
and the next week 4.79
that pushed it out of my buying range
im hoping it goes down
because it was the last affordable
meat i could get
we dont need meat anyway
so if i have to stop eating it i'll live
but thats a big price jump
and my soymilk went up 50 cents
in 1 jump
i wont be able to get it anymore
so with no meat or soymilk i will
be getting a b12 vitamin pill i guess?
i have an issue with low b12 in my
body(i test out too low in bloodwork)
even eating animal products
but with the soymilk (b12 added) and meat gone i wont have a source
anymore
its not a big deal but its better to have
vitamins from food not pills
o well maybe the price will come down
im not hopeful tho

todays food-
ground beef with a dry soup mix fried in it for flavor
2 cups veggie soup

Price gouging is a terrible thing & there are rules against it. Have a read of this- How to Identify and Report Price Gouging | U.S. PIRG I think I would ask to see the manager & explain that you cannot afford the increased prices & if you get a negative or unsympathetic response you could mention the relevant laws. It's a disgrace that stores do this.

Is there a local consumer group you could raise this with, so that it's not just you alone against the price-gouger? I'm really sorry you're having to deal with this.

well i guess the price gouging wasnt enough gone wrong
today finds me an absolutely hungry bear
my pharmacy forgot to put my insulin in the delivery order
so they said they would get the guy to come back and
send it out to me
that was last night
still nothing
i will live until tomorrow with no food
but im going to see them tomorrow to
find out what happened
i pity the person i talk to
when im so dam hungry lol
and still have all day and all night
until tomorrow afternoon
im not sure there really was any excuse for that
and its not that i left it to the last minute
i tried to get it a few days ago when i was there in person
i did not understand why they wouldnt give me any
my drs prescription is still good
they gave me the other insulin
but not the one needed for food
anyway i better go find things to do
so i dont feel so hungry
:frown:

on the positive side now
for 2 days ive been doing the 30 minute walk
with my nice person
today was day 2
wearing my new big shoes to
accomodate the swelling (feet and legs)
feet arent too bad right now
because it got cooler out again
and
earlier in my diary i mentioned that there werent
bigger sizes to be boughton at the stores
but i found someone online who had some
very nice larger pants
so now i have some to wear
and people wont think i just own 1 pair
actually had 2 but the same ones lol
now i have 2 new used different ones
so i guess its not all bad
:)

went for that walk again
feeling very good with some exercise

i couldnt bear to wait in a long lineup to talk
to them about the insulin
so i called
they claim there was no one home
when they did get it sent out
i had it sent to my families because i have
no door entry ringer so maybe the confusion lies there somehow
so anyway it is supposed to be sent out today
and my nice person explained to them how the door
ringers work here
so that hopefully is worked out ( and for food i had a cucumber with some dressing)
but
and there is always a darn but
they will only send 1 box out
and i cant get another for 20 days
each box lasts me 10 days
i get 3 boxes a month
i asked her why and said a box wont last me 20 days only 10
she said the government is making them do it this way to
avoid shortages
but to call when im low to see what they can do
i get it tho too because there will be ppl needing it worse
than i do
so hopefully in 8 or 9 days i will call and they can give me some
so im not sure if i can conclude that this all worked out good or not?

Is there a local consumer group you could raise this with, so that it's not just you alone against the price-gouger? I'm really sorry you're having to deal with this.

im not sure what i will do yet
theres supposed to be a phone number
so maybe that route

the insulin came
so now its a matter of if they really
will make me wait 20 days
when it only lasts me 10

todays food--
1 pk of dry soup(3 cups)
todays exercise--
the 30 minute walk

really really hoping the swelling stays down
so i can keep with the walks

Glad you got at least some insulin, but I agree with Cate not to call last-minute. You deserve to eat, so you need your meds. Just as much as other people. Fingers crossed the swelling will stay down.

still doing a walk every day
but
one of my legs has doubled in size again(swelling)
but since so far it doesnt hurt
i will keep going every day
my body just fights when i exercise lol

food today--
2 cans ravioli (gross)
exercise today--
nothing(the other person wouldnt go a big pile of snow dumped on us overnight
and its never safe to walk alone in most places
