Kimberly, on this challenge, weight loss is from the previous weeks weight, not the start weight, right? (I gained last week, but lost this week. Do I count all I lost this week (deduct from last week) or just how far down I am from the start?)

Because your gain was subtracted from your team's total weight lost last week, your loss this week is subtracted from last week's weight--so you'll get more pts this week. :)

LOL! Yes, now that is a bonus right up Margaret's alley. Perhaps Jennababe and Margaret are one and the same. ;)

AmbaLove: No, I did not think you created the challenge to cater to your team. I just think Margaret finally found the challenge she can really enjoy!

Will you still say that when I make next week's detours to either eat 4 pieces of fruit everyday or weigh in daily? :p

Sorry you're too late for this one, but there will be more challenges after this one--never fear. I'm thinking maybe a Survivor themed one next, since I seem to be running the reality show gamut..lmao. Oh, I know--it'll be like the bachelorette, and that'll be me, and the 7 men on WLF can fight for me. :rofl:

I'm sorry to say that this is an elimination week. :( Now, here's my dillemma: the Red Ladies have the least amount of pts, but Tarrish from Determined Divas did not check in. I have not counted her exercise minutes, but even without it, they are tied for 3rd place. However, if Tarrish gained, her teams pts would be lower, possibly putting them in last place. I don't want to set a precedent to make people not log their weight gain so as not to drag their team down. So I'm not sure if I should make the rule that if all of a team's members don't update before midnight, that team will be automatically eliminated if it's an elim week, and if more than one team is missing someone, the team with the fewest pts the week before gets eliminated. I didn't think this problem would occur b/c I figured if all of a team's people didn't update, that they'd never have more pts than one that did. :rolleyes: However, it isn't really fair to the other 2 people on the team that did update on time to get eliminated b/c one person on the team didn't. *sigh* What's a girl to do?? :confused:

I am going to do a second chance competition based on accumulated pts for those who get eliminated, if it makes you all feel better about it.

I would like to hear from people not on either of the two teams as to what your opinion is regarding who should get eliminated. So things don't get ugly or feelings hurt, please PM me any comments.

I know this sounds like a horrible excuse, but I didn't realize it had to be posted before EST midnight. I just thought we had to update before mid-night on Friday. I'm on the West Coast so my mid-night hasn't even happened yet. I lost a pound, but I understand what you are saying. If I had gained, our team could have been in last place.
 
Ok, everyone--I've got it all figured out..lol

A big thanks to AmyRB and Omega for pointing out my own rules that I overlooked last night when I was re-reading them. :rolleyes:

6. Each week will start on Friday and end on Thursday. All teams must update their weekly progress and weigh in by midnight EST (GMT -5hrs) each Friday. (like the BLS Challenge) If a team fails to do so, they will not receive any pts for that week.

Tarrish's excuse of timezone is her own fault for not reading the rules. Also, there is this rule that totally changes the points and puts the Red Ladies out of danger regardless:

1. Each week we’ll “travel” to a new destination. The travel time will be the amount of exercise each team must complete in order to get maximum pts. If a team “reaches” their destination, they’ll get 10pts. If they reach 80% of their destination they’ll get 8pts. So if the travel time is 15hrs and the team exercises 15hrs, they’ll get 10pts plus an additional 5pts bonus. If they only exercise 12hrs they’ll get 8pts. Percentages will be rounded down to the nearest tenth.

Margaret also pointed out that I forgot about the 5pt bonus for getting in all your exercise for the week--which the Red Ladies did. Therefore, giving the teams who got in all their exercise their 5pt bonuses makes the new totals look like this:

1. Blue Crew--33pts, 6.1lbs lost
2. Omega-3--29pts, 3.4lbs lost
3. Weight Loss Warriors--28pts, 2.4lbs lost
4. ABS of Steel--27pts, 2.1lbs lost
5. MILF/Aussie Battlers--26.2pts, 4.6lbs lost
6. Legacy Red Ladies--26pts, .4lbs gained
7. Exercise Bunnies--24.3pts, 4.2lbs lost
8. Determined Divas--23.9pts, 4.5lbs lost


Because the Exercise Bunnies all checked in on time, they are safe, and I'm sorry to say that the Determined Divas have been eliminated. :( If an eliminated team wants to stay in consideration for the second chance winner, just keep following the race and updating. Like I said earlier, that winner will be determined by accumulated points. I will not start up a separate thread for the second chance, just continue to do what you've been doing thus far--keeping track of exercise and roadblocks/detours as a team, encouraging each other, etc in your current team thread. :)

I'm putting Omega in charge of the next challenge, as she can remember the rules better than I do. :D

I just wanted to point out that if you don't normally work out as much as you have been for this challenge, you should probably increase your calories a bit to reflect that. I'd say an extra 100-200 per day should do the trick. Think of it as giving your body some extra fuel. It won't slow down your weight loss--if anything, it'll help it by keeping your metabolism fired up.
 
Week 4 Destination

Week 4—Vancouver to Auckland 18hrs 5min. 6hr2min if divided 3 ways.

What is New Zealand famous for? Why kiwi fruit, Lord of the Rings and sheep of course. :D There are 4.2million humans in NZ, and 43.1million sheep. This is actually down from a high of 70.3million in 1982. I will refrain from any sheep shagging jokes no matter how tempting. :biggrinjester:

Therefore, as cliché as it is, this week’s Detour is to either 1. Eat a kiwi fruit everyday or 2. Eat 8oz of lamb over the course of the week. Maybe if we eat enough of them, the New Zealanders will finally outnumber the sheep. :D You must also dress up as Gollum while eating your kiwi or lamb. Ok, that part is optional. :D See how nice I am??


Each team member must complete one of the detours. :)
 
Awesome detours! I eat kiwi every day as it is and I LOVE lamb. I can't decide which I wanna do. Do we get extra points if we do both?
 
Nope, no extra pts for doing both..lol

I don't like lamb, but my H loves it. He can have it!! :biggrinjester:

My H hates it, but now I have a hankering for it so it will be on the menu this weekend! We always have kiwi on hand, my daughter and I love to have one for a snack when we get home from work/daycare. She bites right through the skin. LoL!!

I am happy to say that this is a non-elimination week. :hurray:

So far we've lost a total of 98.3lbs in 3 weeks. That's an average of 4.1lbs per person. Nice job everyone! :party:
