Weight-Loss ACCOUNTABILITY THREAD - The Purple Team Thread

Weight-Loss
Margaret- thank you very much for your kind words. We had an ultrasound yesterday and all seemed well. the HR was good, size was good and we watch 'him' move around a little. so all should be good.
:hurray: I am so pleased to hear that you are getting lots of positive news there. It must be such a relief for you both.

Thanks Margaret. It is a relief. I think things will and are fine now. :)

ok.
I will weigh myself tomorrow morning and post here.
Ate well. I am hitting a 3 challenge this week easy. :D But then again this was an easy week challenge wise for me.

Worked out for 72 minutes today- 30 WT 42 cardio. This brings my total workout time to 7 hours 15 minutes. :D

we will see what the scale says in the am.
Good luck purple!

Hi Team! Sorry I haven't been around the last couple of days - just too much going on I guess.

Well, I don't have an exact count of everything I ate for the past two days, but I do know that I still accomplished breakfast every day and no fast food.

Exercise - total of 285 min. I increased my exercise this week, but didn't hit the bonus.

I'm posting my stats now in case anything prevents me from logging on later.

Brian - so glad to hear that things turned around in a positive way!

Can't wait to see the results tomorrow morning - I'm hoping we keep our lead!

Friday 20th:

At least 3 hours exercise out walking.
Pedometer readings at end of day:
---Steps = 33,182
---Distance = 12.83 miles

My Food / Drink:
2.5 litres of cold water
some diet cola
3 weetabix, sweetener, 350 ml skimmed milk
clusters
Shape no fat yoghurt
chicken, 3 tomatoes, cucumber, celery, spring onion
chicken, gravy, carrot, celery, cauliflower, peas
1 banana
2 pears
1 apple
grapes
1 plum
sugar free jelly
sugar free gum
4 WW sweets

Therefore I had breakfast every day, no junk food and I did at least 3 hours of walking every day (my minimum daily distance was over 11 miles).

BONUS CHALLENGE FOR WEEK BEGINNING 6/21

"Cutting soda out of your diet completely can save the average person 360 calories or more each day. Even diet soda, fruit juices, and whole milk can add unnecessary calories to your daily intake. Instead, drink lots of water and switch from whole to skim or even soy milk; the little things can make a big difference."

Soooooooo...

The bonus challenge this week is NO SODA - not even diet! If its carbonated - YOU CAN'T DRINK IT!

For some, this may be easy - for others, time to find an alternative for the week!

:biggrinjester: Good Luck! :biggrinjester:

I am just going to apologise in advance as I think that I am not likely to get many (if any) bonus challenge points this week. I love my diet cola. I have cut down my consumption a lot over the past 16 months - but I still have some pretty much every day. I have so little sinful food that I really am unlikely to go without the little bit that I have been allowing myself. I really do not believe that going without my diet cola would improve my weightloss - it would simply make me feel more deprived. I always drink plenty of water - more than calculations dictate for my weight - and my liquid refreshment calories are minimal.

Great job this week guys! We all checked in and we're all KICKING ASS!! We still hold FIRST PLACE! :hurray:

I kinda feel bad for the other teams - if the two people that didn't check in on the Green Team don't check in next week, they will be down to three people. :(

I hope that this whole averaging thing doesn't screw us in the end.

Hope you guys are having a great weekend! :cheers2:

Yaaayy! So happy I made the exercise bonus!!!

So, no diet cola... got an open half-bottle to finish right now... hmmm, will probably have some more, give the rest to my family. I can do that for the rest of the week though!

So, I can't wait til my Tuesday night weigh in... I've been so good this week! Hope you all had a good weekend!

Well - I had a great day out with Kimberly (BikiniBound) on Sunday - and after spending 4 hours of the evening in a pub was really delighted to only have drank diet soda and not a myriad of other things that would have totally wrecked my calorie intake for the day. My weightloss always comes as my highest priority and for me it was great that my project stayed on track. The fact that I did not earn bonus points was of little consequence to me.

I'm sorry if other team members feel that I have let them down - but am sure that if I had consumed anything else - it would have been at the expense of my calorie level. I really do not envisage me ever spending 4 hours in a pub with friends and drinking pure still water (anything carbonated would lose bonus points).

Hehe, Margaret relax... am I mistaken or did you make every single bonus last week??? Thanks for being such a prime example for us lil ones :)

My weekend

...went really well! I ate right, but for some candy (fat free but sugar loaded!)

Did dancing, running and weight training on Saturday, that's a first! Went to yoga this morning before work... amazing! My bike (moped) is broken, so it's in for repairs, complicating transport a bit, but my folks can help for a few days. I'm seriously considering getting a REAL motorbike... pretty excited...

Anyway, tomorrow night I go for my weekly weigh in (which will determine my weightloss for the week - the number I'll post here this Saturday). I have worked hard this week and would like to see how that has paid off! I want to lose at least 1 pound, then I'll be happy!

CHANGES TO BONUS CHALLENGE

Okay - since we have a few people who aren't too "fond" of the NO SODA Bonus Challenge - I am going to revise the Bonus Challenge for this week.

Since we have already lost a day - this challenge will run Monday 6/23 through Saturday 6/28.

I want everyone to have a fair chance at getting bonus points - and it wasn't my intention to have anyone say "I'm just not doing it". Don't want to cause any type of resentment on the teams.

So, this week's challenge will be to add CALCIUM to your diet.

Everyone will need to add 1000mg each day to achieve the bonus.

You can do this the good ole fashion way by eating or drinking more calcium - or you can take calcium supplements.

If anyone doesn't like this challenge - too bad! I tried! :sifone:

Have a great week!

This is so much better for me. My calcium is up to 759.08mg calcium according to fitday with what I have eaten already. My daily vitamins and supplements include 500mg calcium which I will be having later.

You dont often see it listed - but there is a fair bit of calcium in baked beans. I am not planning on having any baked beans today - but if anyone is doing so it should help out their calcium numbers.

Thanks for the tip Omega! I'm averaginbg about 500mg from food, and my multivit has at least 500mg in it... i'll check when I get home.

Otherwise, things are good. Realised last night that to avoid burnout I'm gonna have to make some quiet time for myself... I just suddenly felt so overwhelmed by everything. Anyway, my head is clear now.

Eating and exercise wise I'm doing well this week... Went to my official weigh in last night and I lost some weight making up for last week's gain, wooohooo!

Hi guys!

Sorry I haven't been around for the past couple of days - I've logged on to check the site, but haven't had time to post - I have just been working my butt off.

I have made sure that I've gotten a 30 min walk in with the dogs each day - and I've been taking my Calcium supplements since Monday - so all good on the bonus.

How are you all doing? We haven't been talking that much this week!

All ok here thanks Lori. I do at least 3 hours exercise walking a day so that is quickly sorted for the week.

My calcium intake is always pretty good. I have at least 759mg calcium in my huge breakfast (cereal etc, yoghurt, banana) that I have each day. My daily multivitamin has another 100mg. If I can ever be bothered to add up the rest I see whether I have covered off the 1000mg in nutrition alone. I have 400mg tablets that I take if I think that I am cutting it close or cannot be bothered to do the sums. This is something that I always do so my calcium points should be pretty much guaranteed.

From a calorie perspective I have been a bit up this week (heaven know how much!!!!!). My husband did the shopping on Saturday and he bought some cereal that I find hard to resist. I have naturally been having all my normal cereal - plus an unweighed quantity of this other naughty stuff. Thankfully it is all gone now! I have told him that if he wants to buy this stuff again he should eat it at work and keep it there. He has said that he will not buy it again. I wouldnt mind but we have already gone around this exact same loop (same cereal, same inability to resist) last year. Cereals really speak to me at times! Naturally all this is not exactly helping my weight loss.

I still have some definite areas of weakness. Bread and cereal are major areas of weakness for me.

So, did really well today... Got ALL my calcium, fibre, fruit and veg in!!! Plus the gym and a run! And belly dancing.... I'm on top of the world!!!!:jump:

sorry I have not been around much to post. I have been out of town for business and have simply not had the time. I cannot say with any certainty if I hit the calcium challange- if for no other reason i did not know until yesterday it was changed from the soda one. I have not been tracking it and therefore I have no idea if I have been good or not.
So, I will be a big, fat zero on that one this week. Sorry but I was not able to even look at this until yesterday.....

All is well overall though- I have been able to workout at least 45 min every day and got home yesterday and got a good hour and a half in. so that is good and my weight is good. I just will not get bonus points.

Sorry team.
