Weight-Loss ACCOUNTABILITY THREAD - The Purple Team Thread

Weight-Loss
Hey guys.
Well, this week has gone into the tank so to speak. I am sitting in Midway airport right now in Chicago waiting to get on a plane to San Antonio Texas to help put out someone else's mess. I do not know what facilities i will have to exercise at the hotel and the work is at night so I know I will eat like crap or not at all- either or is not good.
I found this out yesterday at 12 noon that I needed to go. I will be back sometime Thursday afternoon- 7/3- but this is going to put a serious kink in my plans for this week.
I will post i am sure but I can never be sure how much.

Positive affirmation- I am a damn good employee for my company and am willing to sacrifice personal comfort for the company.

all in all though eating well the last few days- albeit too much- and my exercise for Sunday and Monday was a good number.
hopefully there is a way for me to workout this week.

Go to a store and go get youself some healthier convenience foods... energy bars and stuff... to make sure you get enough in, and also that it's not toooo unhealthy.

And go for a run or walk if you can't workout.... it's all up to you!!!

Hope you manage juggling work and all, good luck!

Aw, Brian - gotta love those last minute plans with work! I agree with Anke - try stopping at a grocery store in the area - get some healthy snacks - and the walking part is good - you don't need any type of exercise machines for that. Walk around the hotel! :)

I got my 65 min in or Cardio/weights this morning - off to get a shower and pack my lunch and snacks for the day!

Brian - Walking is an excellent form of exercise. I credit it as the single most crucial factor in my weightloss project. Not only does it burn lots of calories it is really good for things like blood pressure and cholesterol.

Buy lots of fruit to snack on. It doesnt need to be cooked and it is great to nibble on when you get the munchies. Healthy too - and the fibre keeps you "regular". It is quite easy to keep drinking your water while you are away - it is good for you and you wont mistake feelings of thirst for hunger.

Affirmation.
Tuesday 01/07/2008 I am good at thinking and acting strategically.

I encourage the people around me to be the best they can be.... by being the best I CAN BE! - 2 July

Wooooooooooooooooooow...am I sore!! I haven't done my Firm tapes since March and my muscles are MAD AT ME! I woke up this morning and almost fell out of bed! :rotflmao:

It's a good sore though - means I worked something!

Food yesterday was good too - not enough, but not bad either.

I had:
1 small apple
1 slice whole wheat toast w/natural peanut butter
1 serv. cottage cheese
2 open face sandwiches (1 sandwich = 1 slice whole wheat bread topped with mixture of ground beef mixed w/chili sauce (about 1/2 cup of meat) broiled.
3 tablespoons of spaghetti made w/whole wheat rotini

On Sunday, I got on the scale and it was up to 207!! :ack2: I don't know if it was water retention or what -- but I got on this morning and its down to 202.5! WOOHOO!

Positive affirmation for 7/2 - I am a responsible pet owner. :)

So I had some more "fitting in the exercise" woes today. I wanted to get my second run for the week in today, so I planned to go to gym in my lunch hour... forgot to bring clean socks for after, so had to go past home.

Then I figured I would be late if I try do a full 20 minute session, so I figured I would run for as much of 10 minutes as I can....

I ran for 5:20, then walked til 6:30, then ran til 9:00 and walked til 10:00... So I ran for 7:50, or almost 8 minutes... usually I run about 6-7 minutes in my 20 minute sessions, as I do 90 seconds running, 90 seconds walking all the way.

So I figure, for a 10 minute workout I got in a fairly equivalent amount of running compared to my usual sessions.

Basically, I'm trying to rationalise that I HAVE done run number two this week, so I only have to do one more... anyone have an opinion :)

Anyway, great news, at my weight loss club's weigh in last night, I lost 3.5 pounds for the last week! I am sooooooo happy!!! And I really think it's the exercise boosting it too. Yay, yay, yay! into the 180s!

Congratulations Chickie!!!! Isn't it a great feeling when you KNOW it's working? Great job!

Thanks Lori! I also just realised...

20 pounds lost altogether, yeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaa!

but next week I'll reach the 10kg mark... I'm on 9.6 (kilograms that is), and we work in kg's so for some reason it's more real to me :p

Ciao for now!

Thursday 03/07/2008 I form my own opinions - not necessarily following the herd.

Morning/Afternoon!

I just got in a 65 minute workout this morning. Yesterday, did ok eating - didn't get the exercise in though..I ended up working late, and I was still real sore. Don't want to overdo it and cause an injury. The Firm is pretty hard core. :)

Eating wise -

Skinny Venti Caramel Latte from Starbucks - I'm addicted to these things - and I found out that they're 110 calories. (that's why I count it in my food list)
Cut strawberries and banana
2 or 3 bites of a salad I didn't like so much
1 string cheese
2 open face sandwiches

No fried foods!

7/3 - I have pretty eyes (at least I've been told)

Hope you guys have a great day! This is the last working day for me - so I'm looking forward to a 3 day weekend! WOOHOO!

Oh, and on a side note..got on the scale again today - down to 201! woooooohooooo!!!

Lori - congratulations on the weightloss. You are so close to getting back under 200. Just stay focused for a few more days and we can have another forum party.
