Yay to having the kid home for a week & a week off work!!! & I missed this-
In 12.5 weeks of being focused, I’ve lost 26.2 pounds and a total of 9 inches!
I’m glad I took the measurements when I started!

Happy catching up with your daughter - sounds wonderful!

I am so looking forward to having her home! I haven't seen her since the first week in January and she won't have another break until the third week in September so we're hoping to enjoy EVERY minute!!

I've been coming to this forum for about three weeks - I read, and sometimes post to journals, but I never know what I would actually put into one of my own.

I turned 40 this past January and realised I was almost 260 pounds - I knew that had to change.

I was about 30lbs over weight (185lbs) in 1990 when I met my husband, by December of 1990, I weighed 205lbs. In 1992 when I got married, I was 218 and in 1996 after I had my daughter, I weighed 216. So the last 40 pounds of my weight gain has been over the last 10 years. Four pounds a year doesn't seem like much - but it adds up!

Yeesh!

It's really time to make a change in my life for GOOD!

I don't count calories, so I really have no idea how much total I eat in a day. I know I slowly just started cutting back, and that gave me a pound a week weightloss. Since joining this forum, I've been much more conscience of what I eat and my activity level (not to mention how much WATER I'm drinking) ;)

No one in my family has even noticed the weight I've lost to date (24lbs), nor have they noticed anything different about my eating habits. My husband has noticed that I haven't been drinking coffee - that's the extent of his awareness

Anyway, this forum is truly IT when it comes to my entire support system, and I'm so glad I've found you guys!

:) I fly home every four months or so and I´m super-excited every time.

I love the dancing, M2M. What a great way to get exercise!

I love it
I've been coming home from work and putting one record on and dance like crazy for one or both sides. lol

How far are you from home? Is it home to your parents every four months or so?
I was going up to see the kid every month for awhile so we can hang out between home trips. Her depression & anxiety were pretty bad at the time and it helped hit the 're-set' button and I got to see her - win-win!
:)

Happy dancing and hope you have a fantastic visit with your daughter. I can't imagine when mine will leave for college. We both nearly cry if we think about it!

The kid called - one of her (4) pet rats, Estrella just died.
We'll have the funeral in the back yard on Sunday
:(

I so wish they were home when it happened.
More tomorrow,

Thank you LaMa & Marsia,
It's never easy saying good bye to a pet, they become family members.

I'm making the drive after work tonight, I'll probably get off work by 6pm and I'll leave around 8pm- getting there around 3am, will get some sleep and then be back on the road by 7am.

I need to figure out what food to take with me. Normally, I just drive through a fast food restaurant and I don't want to do that.

Bananas are a good travel food. I think I'll get back into the habit of taking a thermos & a decent travel cup, with me wherever I go anywhere. Drive carefully xoxo

whenever i travel anywhere now (drive), i pack along a six-pack size cooler. throw in a freezer bag full of ice and i'm set. easy to refill the ice when staying with a friend or at a hotel. some cut up vegetables or cold chicken are a few of my travel staples with a stop at the FF restaurant for a senior priced black coffee.
