Oh, wow, sounds like a massive carb and sugar party! Glad you did resist the deep fried French toast though - I bet they are a day worth of calories a piece!

I don't feel so great avoiding one and then eating the rest lol
Tonight is out with my girlfriends, and 900 calories remaining, soooo...we'll see how it goes lol

Have fun :)

Hi M2M,

Good on you for starting your journey.

I’ll keep my comment short. Chances are you’re family and friends HAVE noticed you’ve lost weight but are too conscious of offending to mention it.

Thanks Truffle Monster - I think the journey I started was from 2008, I'm back for round 2 now!

So I'm leaving tomorrow morning for Vegas - we go every year to see the Rugby Seven's Championship games, 3 days/45 Rugby games later and we have an amazing time!

However, it's Vegas, it's a three day sporting event, it's stadium food and beer...
I think I'm just going to skip my Monday weigh in and plan on working next week to get off all I gain...

I'll try to track calories in MFP as best I can, but I'm sure the options aren't going to be great.
We normally bring 10 pounds of clementines, so I can snack on citrus, but then there's peanuts and sunflower seeds...salted

I doubt I'll be able to check diaries too much between now and next Wednesday, but I'll try and pop in.
:)

Trader Joe's has a lot of healthy snacks that aren't salted and are good for traveling. I usually measure out my portions ahead of time so I can keep track of calories better. Then I smuggle my little sandwich bags of goodies in my purse into events and snack on them. I am also a cheepskate and I usually make my breakfast in the microwave at the hotel and that way I am sure to eat at least a healthy breakfast.

Good luck food-wise and I'm sure you'll have a blast!

The Rugby 7's Tournament was fantastic, ate too many Steak & Cheddar pies and drank too much beer & tequila!
I'm up 3 pounds but started fresh this morning :)

It's good to be back!

Hey M2M how have you been tracking since Thursday? Still in Vegas?

Hi!
I'm doing better - this week has been crazy hectic!
Friday night, my girlfriends came over, and I don't know what happened but I drank *way* too much! Then Saturday and Sunday I was back and forth taking my dad to the hospital to visit his twin brother who was admitted last week and is probably not going to be coming home :\

I'm down the 3 pounds I gained while in Vegas and have been eating clean 5-6 days a week. Keeping calories between 1400-1500.
:)

I think I must have been retaining a lot of water - I woke up 2.5 pounds down since Tuesday
I weigh every day but only write it down once a week. We'll see how this week ends!

I've been pre-logging my food, bringing my meals to work and not deviating from the plan for the day (except for the 1/4 of an avocado someone just brought me because it was an AMAZING avocado lol

The pre-logging is really helping me stay on track. Making a plan and eating the plan seems to be working for now. I can do this 5-6 days out of the week but when my partner has the day off, we always eat out, so I'm thinking 5-6 days a week of clean eating should make up for the one or two days of not...we'll see how that goes.

:)

That's so great you are doing so great with the calorie counting and the pre-logging! I hope you find good restaurants where the food is also pretty good for you! I hate when we can't plan the restaurant and there aren't good choices once we get there, and it undoes a bunch of my hard work. Anyways, wonderful you are doing so well!!

Nooooo....and I'm pretty terrible when it comes to looking for healthier options on a menu!
lol!

Thanks Cate - I am determined!
It boggles my mind that I went through all this work years ago, only to let it happen again!

We´re all in it for life - which is exactly why any successful strategy must be pleasant enough to keep up through maintenance.
