If you want to add me on MFP I'm CateAussie. I currently have my diary private but am trying to stick with 1400 cals a day. Moving is hell! Cado de pollo I had to look up. It sounds delicious.

I added you Cate :)
Yes, moving is hell, being unorganized, living out of boxes, not being able to cook - urgh, and it's been about a month, because I was packing for two weeks before and unpacking for two weeks after!

Cado de pollo is yummy, just your basic chicken soup with no noodles/pasta. It's been cold here at night, so I'm looking forward to a big pot of it.

I'm trying to stick to about 1500 calories per day, sometimes a bit more, sometimes a bit less.
I'm down 21.3 pounds since 12/19/18

Moving is a disaster, good thing you've got the worst parts behind you now.

Three glasses of wine tonight and only 105 calories over my daily goal - I can live with that

Had a girlfriend over tonight and we have recommitted to a jam session at my house every Friday night (we used to have an active band) but work and life got in the way.

Time to bring it back!!
Looking for sound proofing for the garage now!

That's exciting you are doing jam sessions together again with your friend! What instrument do you play? My daughter is lead singer/guitarist in a rock band for kids. I miss doing art with other people. I used to be part of a printmaking studio. I sort of envy musicians and actors because it's easier to do art together if you aren't a visual artist.

What do you sound proof with? We looked into sound proofing and it was so expensive!

Thanks everyone!

Marsia,
It's awesome that your daughter has a band - it's such a great experience! There was a group of us that used to jam together and we had occasional public gigs/but mostly a garage band. Our kids all had bands too. I play guitar. When we first started the band - none of us knew how to play an instrument lol!

I'm not sure how best to deal with the sound. I was thinking of putting up acoustic panels in various places in the garage and then hang moving pads across the garage door to help with the sound. I have about 4 rugs to put under the drum kit so hopefully that will help!

On a different note, I broke past the 230 mark today!
229.3!

Starting Weight 252.5 12/19/18
Current Weight 229.3 02/22/19
Goal Weight 165-175

All of this week, I have been adding what I'm going to eat to MyFitnessPal tracker in the morning for the whole day.
For the most part, it helps keep me on track because I can look at the app and know what I'm supposed to eat when. I modify it as needed but it's definitely helped me stay on track better.

That's fantastic - 23+ pounds down!!! :party::party:

Thanks for the info on the sound proofing. I am occasionally learning drums to accompany my daughter, and never thought to put layers of rugs. That's a great idea. The sound proofing is for between my room and the part of the house that is my mom's. I think your rug idea would work for putting a hanging rug over the door on a removable hanger or something. We put plywood up on the ceiling before drywalling and that seems to help a lot, too, plus having a good seal on the bottom of the door helped a lot more than I would have imagined.

Love your idea of measuring and planning the meals with the food tracker in advance. I may borrow your idea!!!

Well done M2M on the 23 lbs lost. I love hearing about garage bands & people who play music. I'm off to a blues festival today in Hobart & staying the night.

Sundays & Mondays are generally my day off and my partner and I generally always go out to eat - so I spend the rest of the week recovering the damage ;) We went to Pops (an old, greasy spoon for lunch), I decided to go skip the deep fried french toast I normally go for, but I don't think I did a lot better in my choice, so I ended up just eating half (grilled roast beef with ortegas). I've given up most breads/wheat, so this was the first bread I've had in about 2 months. We're going to a party tonight, they'll most likely have traditional Mexican food, so corn tortillas, meat and salsas, I'll just stay away from the chips (or I can drink my calories in tequila...?) ;)

I'll check diaries tomorrow :)

Probably too late to mention this, but I eat the contents in the tortillas and that seems to work well. Happy party!!

Oh, wow, sounds like a massive carb and sugar party! Glad you did resist the deep fried French toast though - I bet they are a day worth of calories a piece!
