Weight-Loss 6 Week Continuation Support Thread!!!

Weight-Loss
HI, just checking in. I been doing great all week, exercised every day except thursday, ate within my calories every day as well.
Hoping to show at least 1 lb loss by Monday (secretely hoping for more though. :) )
Now that we are almost half-way through, I have the routine down.
We had a party for my in-laws' anniversary yesterday and brought my food and my own dessert. didn't touch anything else!!
Let's all have a great weigh-in on Monday!!!

PS: I am sorry about you guys who are sick. I know it is awful. No way I could concentrate on weight-loss while sick. Hoping you all feel better very soon!!!

Hey all, things are still going well here, not expecting huge weight loss this week, but I am fitting into my old clothes, and that is an absolute bonus. 25min left of exercise to do to finish my 4 hours for the week, so will get that in today.:waving:

I really do think clothes are the greatest indicator of how well things are working out. Sometimes I just want to yell "SCREW YOU SCALE!" but when I put on my jeans and they feel looser than usual, I feel much better.

It sounds like everyone is going to be having a good week........:hurray:

I just want to say thank you to everyone who is working so hard to get results, you all are great motivators. I feel a bit like a bum this week, I have only exercised once, and didn't feel that great all week, I only got in my water on one day I think, but really watched what I ate and still lost 2 lbs. I had an appointment with a dietician on the 11th, it was great, I learned a lot, one serving of chicken and the muffin she had were very small! It is Ok to have more than one serving, but you have to plan your day to include it. I hope I'm not kicked off the Excel sheet for not doing my part this week. I didn't even realize that this weeks challenge was fiber. I will do better next week. I was thinking that I've been working too hard too quickly and I will have a day of rest in between day of exercising. I think that will help lots with how I feel and hopefully I won't be so tired.

So good to hear that you have kept on your eating plan even during a family celebration, those times are tough to keep on your eating plan. You have strong willpower not to touch anything else. I'm sure you will have lost more than 1 lb by Monday.

I feel bad for all those who are sick as well, my DH was sick the first week in March and I've been fighting something, I've been more tired than usual, so I certainly hope I can keep it at bay. For those of you who are sick, I hope you get better soon.

Loose Clothing/lovelylily

You are doing great lovelylily! I can also fit into my old jeans, but they are kind of tight, but at least I can do them up now without laying on the bed, so that's a plus. Your hard work is paying off. Keep up the good work.
Hugs, Kerry

Ya alot of us are sick or have sick family it sucks.Ive been sick for two weeks and am still sick my little one going onto a month on an off and she has a gastro intestine virus but seems to slowly be on the mend.A lot of ppl have dropped out as well due to being sick...

Update on me...Ive been dealing with alot emotionally, (Ive been vey hurt, by someone who was close to me) so that has brought me down a few notches...On top of being sick agian/still and having a very sick little one...on top of nights, i have been feeling a little defeated lately.

I havent exercised at all this week, i just felt I needed the break...I might exercise today but honestly I think I wont...Im still in recovery mode.

Tomorrow I have the sun run clinic so I will go to that and get in a walk and then from there I will get in my exercise for the following week.I cant beilieve we are in a challenge and I sacraficed my exercise but sometimes ya gotta do what ya need to do for you.

Yay!! I love that feeling.

I just bought some new work pants. :D I'm officialy down a size!! It was so great to put on some new smaller pants. The best part? I got them at a thrift shop for $8!!! (Can't spend too much on clothes I don't plan on wearing too long. ;))

After Tuesday (my personal weight-in is always Tuesday/Wednesday) I didn't stick on my diet... Now.. Saturday and I am still eating like a dog.... =.=
I keep saying... today is the day is to keep on diet..... But it's hard to keep it.
I don't know why... at the night.. I regret from eating so much.
Hope I will do better next week... actually.... starting Sunday..... starting now... >.>

don't worry about a bad week, I've had a pretty blah week. Don't think of yourself as on a diet.. because that means there is an end in mind. You should never stop treating your body healthily, it should be about a lifestyle. And everyone makes mistakes, we all just gotta start forming some good habits.

WEEK FOUR CHALLENGE

PROTEIN

To calculate your daily protein need (the easy way):

Desired body weight _______, in kilos times 0.8-1.2 grams; in pounds times 0.36-0.6 grams; equals _______ grams per day.
Use the lower figure if you are in perfect health and physically fit. Use a higher number if you are under stress, emotional or physical.
The highest number, 1.2 grams per kilo or 0.6 grams per pound, is used pre- and post-surgery, during pregnancy, after illness and for weight training.

Example: A healthy man, 175 lbs./79.54 kilos, exercising regularly with no health problems would need 72 (71.59) grams of protein per day. That works out to about 24 grams per meal. If stressed or ill the calculation might go as high as 95 grams per day.

This is the closest thing I can find to use as a way to calculate your protein intake daily...I remeber what my protein intake was supposta be from the last challenge and this is pretty dead on

To calculate your daily protein requirement the hard way:

Your Desired body weight ________times 14-28 [calories per pound per day (CPPPD)]
times 0.15-0.3 (15%-30% of calories)_________
divided by 4.5 (number of grams per calorie). ________

Example: A woman, 45 years of age, healthy body weight 130 -- 130 X 15 X 0.2 divided by 4.5=86 grams per day. This 'way' to calculate usually gives higher numbers. Still, the benefit of protein seems to be within this range. The best test is how you feel.

CPPPD- Choose 14 if you are sedentary -- spend most of your time sitting down. Increase the number as activity increases. A professional athlete could need more than 28 CPPPD. The average for an active male or female- exercising 4+hours per week and spending most of your time on your feet-is 20 CPPPD. Do not use less than 14 CPPPD. You can not reduce body fat by reducing protein calories. You will end up loosing muscle and further reduce your body's ability to burn fat.

Percent- If you are in good health, not under undo stress, not pregnant, not preparing for surgery or recovering from injury use 0.15 (15%). If you have some stress, frequent infections, fatigue, moodiness or impaired digestion multiply by 0.2 (20%). If you are a competitive athlete, under great emotional or physical stress including chronic illness, injury, pre or post surgery or are pregnant or nursing multiply by 0.25-0.3 (25%-30%). Athletes who have increased the protein and fat in their diets have dramatically improved endurance performance.

Everyone is ready for week 4 ??? I AM!!

Stick to your plan, exercise, keep on track with food and it will be so worth it at the end. Believe me, been there, done that!!

I will have a great weigh-in number tomorrow but most importantly my clothes fit me a lot nicer than before and I feel very good in my skin. I look at things more positively and a more calm way!!

Half-way there in this challenge, 3 weeks into a healthy life-style.

Hajni

I'm excited for week 4. It is my spring vacation week from college, so I have plenty of time to exercise and plan meals. Plus, I bribed my boyfriend into being hard on me to exercise and eat right. I exchanged cleaning for a year. lol. Sounds like a lot, but I do the cleaning anyways.. now I just wont be able to nag him about it. lol.
