Weight-Loss 4 Week Get-Ready-for-Summer Challenge Chat Thread

Weight-Loss
Stacy - you have to know that everyone here really wants you to overcome your demons. We all have them - just they take on a slightly different character for each of us.

It is brilliant that you are getting into a great routine with the walking. Your friend Debbie is being a great support to you. Remember - if she cannot get out walking any day - just imagine that I am there with you. Every day I will be doing my walk.... Remember the old "pedometer buddies" days a year and a half ago.... We clocked up some great distances.

I love you dear friend!!! :hug2:

Hey, I need to start a new one!

Gonna do that right now! ;)

I promise I will...If she can't make it, I'll just talk to you during the route.
Hahahaha! :smilielol5:

:hug2: I am always there walking.

It is great that you have set up that thread. I have added some recent distances in to follow your lead. I wonder whether anyone else will decide to join us.

Ok peeps! I need to get my rear in gear. It's hard when there is a holiday weekend it seems - I still feel like it's Monday, but it's already Tues. That means all my exercise needs to get done soon, or I will not make the 4 hour goal! Yikes!

I admit I was being a bit lazy and decided to do school work rather than go workout. :ack2: I used the rain and thunderstorm as an excuse...:smash:

Today was good, 2662 calories, well under for my exercise level. The rest is in my journal.

I'm going to check out the walking thread. Not because of walking (sorry Margaret and Stacy, I do it out of necessity, not because I enjoy it :D), but to use it as a possible format for cycling mileage instead.

Stacy--I agree with everything Margaret said. Also, next time when your parents start misbehaving, why stick around for the drama? Get the hell out of there before it escalates and spare yourself the stress. I think it was terrible of them to ruin your birthday celebration like that! :cuss: Happy Birthday, btw.

Margaret--Congrats on the new low! :hurray: You are simply amazing, that's all I have to say.

Just got a little baby off to sleep! Finally. Took me over 3hrs!! She just wanted to eat and eat and eat and eat..lol.

:smilielol5: Kimberly, you truly cracked me and Dave up!!

with the..... :cuss: "Happy Birthday"

So TRUE! Hahahahahaha!

I tell ya, it's a miracle I'm sane at all.
It's also a miracle nicotine is my 'only' addiction...... :p

Thank you my sweet friend! :hug2:

*******
LOL about lil May.. She was hungry Mama, she's a growing girl! ;)

Too sweet. :Angel_anim:

Just get a movin'!

*cracks the whip*

You will get your steam back and make up the time! ;)

Wow Margaret, can't believe you got to 125! Totally awesome is all I can say!

Its so nice of May to allow Kimberley a few seconds to get on the computer lol.

Like Sweatpea, I screwed up a bit from the holiday weekend. Seems like I gained about 4 lbs from one day at the barbeque. I had just had a few drinks, a soda, some chips, candy, a hot dog, piece of chicken. Also had McD's this weekend, and even added the applie pies to my usual plain hamburger and small fries. That is enough to set me back I guess cuz I am back to square one from just two not even so horrible days. Of course I had no time to exercise with all the running around I was doing. Had fun but I felt like crap by Tuesday morning. Got back on track yesterday but felt too out of it to do any exercise. :(

Raining today. Don't care what anyone says about "fair weather" cyclists etc. Bicycling in the rain pretty much sucks.

Stayed indoors at the gym and did alternate cardio today. Walked for 22 minutes around the track - 1.4 miles ~ 3.8 mph pace.

Used the Upper body Erg (stationary hand cycle) for 20 minutes.

Did squats, DB step ups and some core for 20 minutes.

All in all not a bad work out for something different.

I'll have to double check, but I'm pretty sure I'm at exactly 4:00 for exercise on the week now.

:hurray: Awesome Karl! ;)

:seeya:

<3 Stacy

My work out will have ta wait until after 8:30 PM tonight, or whenever I arrive home from church.

Just as I thought, they arrived to fix our drizzling faucet right when I needed to exercise... :cuss:

No-one could call me a cyclist - but I can identify you about a hatred of the rain. Before I got my treadmill in July 2008 I had to do all my walking outdoors - and I was doing more walking back then. The amount of times that I did an impression of a drowned rat is no-one's business. I havent had a gym membership throughout this project - but if I had I would have been on one of their treadmills every time.

You are doing great as ever Karl.

Thank you Margaret and Stacy! I'm trying to keep my house of cards from falling and it seems that perhaps its working this time... Maybe?

The fun part about cycling in the rain is the skinny little tires with no fenders that throw the nasty muddy water off the road and right up your back, not to mention constantly having to wipe the water out of your eyes/glasses.

Well, today's eating was on the far side of good. My self imposed 3200 calorie cap on an exercise day is very near... 3167 calories, 147g fat :ack2: 326g carbs, 150g protein.

I got mugged by a donut... (actually they ganged up and attacked as a pair - I couldn't fend them off), however I did manage to at least pay for them with exercise so no biggie.

I am amazed that I got on the scale this morning and was actually a pound down. Of course, that will probably be gone in the morning, but I will do the dance for now.

I won't dance for you (I'm at work, they've seen me do stranger things but... they might ask questions), but I will say congrats!!!
