20lbs or less club

Catching up on here...

Alright you guys, get back in here!:p We started this thread and now we are going to finish it! Now, :) I want to know how you're all doing, how you're all feeling and if you've made any progress with your weight loss. I have been doing good, I have stuck to around 1600 calories all week and have lost 1.5 lbs! I'm not going to put it on my ticker though until it has been gone for another week or so though. I haven't been exercising but I have bought an exercise video. Cindy Crawford's postnatal workout video. Hopefully I'll get it in the mail next week. Anyway, how are you guys doing?

I thought if I join in, I better read through all of the posts and get to know you guys. I'm home from work today with a sick kiddo, so I'm guess there will be a ton of posts from me today. Hope that's ok!

Anyway, I have the Cindy Crawford postpartum tape and love it. I used it heavily after my 2nd daughter and still love the workouts to this day. I hope you got it and are enjoying it. I like the music and I like her other workouts as well.

speaking of work out tapes.... any good ones for toning that tummy? I was looking into the belly dancing ones, any input?? :)

heidilw-tummy

My stomach isn't my trouble spot... I have the lovely booty and thighs going on. But, a lot of my tapes give a great ab workout.

The cindy crawford tapes come to mind... and they're older, so you could order them off the net for pretty cheap, I bet. Also, I tend to focus on keeping good posture and sucking in thoughout the day... not overly so, but just keeping that tummy in a bit and I think that might be why that's one of my better spots.

A gut buster... from Cindy New Dimension...

lay on back, bring legs up in resting position (like you're stretching-let feet rest on or just above your butt), crunch up, then up a bit more and twist to left, crunch up for that last bit of squeeze, come down... repeat 10 each side focusing on one side at a time. Does that make sense? It's called the 4 count crunch and it's killer.. especially after doing some other abs before it.

Kathy Ireland has a good ab tape, one workout for each day, but not everyone can stand her. I do like some of her tapes, but she's very chatty. Other than that, tae bo with Billy Blanks is hard to beat.

I haven't done any of the belly dancing.. or yoga boot ballet or things like that, but they do look fun. I did the Jazzercise classes with a friend in Oct and that felt "dancy" enough for me, but it was a great workout.

ticker

Ok, looking at my ticker and the lovely .5 gain... is not fun! Talk about motivation to get that thing moving down.

Hi everyone :) Well, I 'm doing pretty good. I'm on those last 10 lbs now so I know it's a rough road ahead of me. I'm not too worried about getting it off extremely fast, just hopefully by swimsuit season, lol. I have stopped counting calories. I have to learn how to eat sensibly without counting calories so I'm just just changiny my lifestyle. Actually the last couple of days I've just eaten what I thought felt right and then added them up at the end of the day to see if I'm doing alright with estimating. suprisingly enough I was right on the money yesterday but the day before I was quite a bit under. I've been fighting a cold and just want to rest and get better so I took the week off of exercising but I plan on starting again on Monday. Anyway, so that's what I've been up to. Oh, Kat blue, I did like the Cindy Crawford workout video except that it didn't seem to target my abs at all which is one of my biggest trouble areas. I now use denise Austin's core complete exercise video. It's really great. Well, I should get going. :)

Hey newmommy1

You've done very well. I like your calmness. :) I think as much as I'm dying to get going.. I need to just chill a bit.. this is going to take time.

I'm sure once classes get going I'll be distracted in a good way. I did get in some exercise today, so I got a total of 4 days in for this week. I'd like to bump it up to 5. Eating hasn't been great.. I've had a wicked sweet tooth and need to quit that daily stuff.. or have one portion of something.

Well, hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Hello; I am glad I found something like this : )

Hello,

My name is Marcus and I'm 22 years old. I am 5'6 (shorter dude) and, currently, weigh 166 lbs. I was always "fit" throughout highschool until I started drinking/partying and eating out excessively. Now I am ready to change my life around. I want to stop drinking and have for a month! : ) and I also want to make smarter choices when Eating. I want to trim up and get into shape; I am sick of getting winded going up a few flight of stairs. I am considered by some of my friends as "Chubby" and I consider myself to be so too. I HATE how I look with my shirt off and I want to get toned up for this summer because me and my girlfriend have a been planning a vacation to San Diego and I have a "fantasy" of walking topless at the beach. : ) I want to make a change and I'm glad I found this website and forum, and particularly this thread : )

I am trying to do the 1200 Cal diet (might be harsh for me being a male though) with plenty of exerices
THIS PLAN GOES INTO EFFECT TOMMOROW 01.22.2007

or
String Cheese
or
Slim Fast Shake
*water

Dinner
*Portioned Dinner (Lean Cusine Meal etc..)
* water

-----------------

Okay, I have the idea down I think; Also, I plan on exercising at the gym 3-4 days per week. I would like to squeeze in one day per week (maybe saturday or friday) where I just eat what I want (withen reason; afterall, I don't want to shave Chiopotle or other fast completely away from my diet). I will drink water like it's going out of style. I am/was a regualr pop/energy drink drinker and I want to remove this from my diet completely.

I guess I just really want to lose this 15-20 lbs and I don't care how I do it; I have alot of WILL POWER at the moment and feel being involved in this forum will help me continue to be motivated.

So, I apologize for the lengthy post; I am really excited to jump start my new beginning! : )

Welcome Marcumus!

Don't apologize. I think 1200 is low for calories for anyone exercising, so please see how you feel. I do think you have a very balanced sounding and nutrionally dense meal plan though. My only advice is if you are still hungry snack on a protein bar or something else healthy every several hours.

I think we all know the feeling... swimsuit season is around the bend for us all. You'll do great though, we all will progress this Spring, so good luck and keep us posted!!

Changing my siggy again.. yesterday's weigh in was a fluke I suppose. Dang water weight! I am going to keep my efforts steady day in day out, so I keep the wacky weigh ins few and far between.

Kat blue,

Yeah, I know what it's like to want to lose all of it right now. I just try to remember that the faster it comes off the less likely it is going to stay off, so slow and steady wins the race, right? lol. For that sweet tooth of yours, do you like cake? My brother is doing weight watchers right now and he told me this coole cake recipie. For Chocolate cake all you have to do is get a regular chocolate cake mix, mix it with 12 oz. of diet coke, bake and its' soooo good. The best cake I've ever had. I put mine in muffin tins and made cupcales though. I thought it was good enough about frosting but if you want to make frosting you can use fat free or light cool whip and mix it with dry pudding mix for some yummy chocolate frosting. If you would rather have strawberry cake you do the same thing only you use diet 7-up instead of diet coke.

Hey guys!! Newmommy- you are doing so great!!! I am so happy for you!! Right now, I am just not doing anything besides exercise and eating less then 2000 cals a day. I am not losing or gaining right now. Pathetic. I figure, one of these days I will get motivated!! My self esteem is down really low, wish that was enough motivation.

I'm really confused at this point; I did the whole day doing the plan, but it felt like I ate a ton! All healthy stuff was eaten too!

Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to exercise today (I went to the Denver Nuggets game with my bro and some friends). One thing too, it is EXPENSIVE! I kid you not, I spent about $20 today. Sure, I bought everything on the fly without the "bulk" discount, but the cost is discouraging. Is there a website with some info (probably this one) with an affordable plan? My plan was way too much.

I bough all that organic healthy stuff and spent $20 just for one day in organic food.

Also, I need some advice on a healthy "cooler-based" lunch. I did
the Lean Cuisine lunch/dinenr today, but I won't be able to everyday. I do field work which requires me to sometimes be out and about so I will not have the convenience of always having a microwave. Any "cooler' lunch recommendations?

Thank you to all once again.

p.s. I did so great all day, but I did have a few nacho chips at the game ( Blushing) . I feel like I gave up, but it does seem hard now that I tried it.

Please, advice will be taken seriously ! : o

Mmmmm... on the recipes.

I'd heard of that at some point, but never tried it. Thanks NewMommy!

I'm doing great the last couple days... just nice and normal, so this crazy water weight will shed on off I hope. Then, it'll be slow and steady with the efforts and hopefully nice and steady with the results. :D

bglittert1979- Hang in there! You should have confidence, I know it's hard at times... but you have a beautiful son that looks up to you and plenty of things to be confident about I'm sure. Make a list! Give yourself credit where it's due, I think a HUGE part of this is being positive to ourselves and loving ourselves. Keep us posted!

Yeh! I'm feeling better...

My weight is creeping back down... I'm feeling a lot better. :D I'm getting in good workouts, doing decent with water, and eating normally (no overeating-making better choices overall). I'm going to shoot for 5 days a week on exercise. I did 4 days, then 3 days, and then 4 days so far this year, but that just doesn't cut it for weightloss. So, I'm hoping about 3 or 4 weeks of 5 days a week I'll really start to head to my goals.

Hope everyone is doing ok this week! It's worth it! Course, I feel like it's easy for me at this place because I have things to cut. It gets harder as you get closer to goal and your habits are all pretty good. Then, it's the little changes that add up. Anyway, let's finish the week strong.

Woo hoo!

I got my 5th day of exercise in for this week. I only exercised 4 days the first week of Jan, 3 days in the 2nd week, and 4 days in last week. That's just not enough when I'm trying to lose weight.

Everybody post updates! I want to hear how you all are doing.

Great job! The more exercise you do, the more it becomes a habit rather than a chore, at least in my opinion. I believe this is day 5 for me as well!

Hello :)

Hi all,
Mind if I join? My goal is 15lbs. Figured an online forum would give me some motivation and accountability. ;)

Thanks and welcome

Thanks CaseyAtMartin and great job on your exercise!! Let's keep each other accountable every week. It does feel good. I know one day I planned to take off, but I got home and really wanted to get something in... so I did. It's amazing how you just have to get the ball rolling so to speak.

Welcome jennay! Jump right in and good luck on your weight loss journey.
