20lbs or less club

Welcome/WTG!

It's great to see new faces... I'm new myself. It's so nice to have a support group like this where we are all in similiar places.

I'm wanting to get going soooo badly. I know it takes time though. I guess I'd hoped to make more progress in January, but I did make some so I guess I can't pout too much. That week out of town really derailed me. Does anyone else seem to let the PMS week derail them? I have a sweet tooth and cravings anyway, but especially then.

Anyway, I'm going to keep up the 5 days of exercise a week and I know that'll add up in time.

Congrats on the loss CaseyAtMartin and xnatsx!!!! That has to feel great. It's amazing how each lb down feels so much better.

Did you ever figure out how to do the weight loss ticker? I thought I remembered seeing where you'd asked about them and noticed you don't have one. Anyway, we can help you get one up. It's easy.

:) i've lost another pound. I'm now the lightest i've been since i can remember :) :) :)

hopefully it's not jsut water loss. But actual fat loss, i measured myself and i've lost an inch and a half on my waist, and inch on my hips. But that could be my dodgy measuring :p

Woohoo!

WOOHOO! You go, girl! That is awesome! Selfishly I'm glad too, b/c you're showing me that yes I can do this too. I was going to skip the gym today but you've given me the motivation not to, so thank you!

HOORAY! I bet you look and feel fantastic.

okay i am gonna join you guys in here if you dont mind
ive got 16 pounds to go
lost 5
:) hope everyones had a successful day

Thanks!

Thanks, Jennay! I did it - I went to the gym again thanks to you guys. And I'm going again today!
I ate like a pig that night though (b/c I drank too much... that always sets me off to eat too much...) That's ok, today I'm going back to the gym and am going to get back on that wagon!

I keep trying so hard to remember that losing weight takes time and that I have to be patient, you know? My goal is 1-2 lbs/wk, but for some reason I STILL keep thinking that every morning I hop on the scale it should be a lb lighter - ha! Patience is my biggest hurdle I think. I tend to give up too quickly and think "it's not working anyway, so I may as well pig out." Ack! You guys are proof that being patient and working hard really does work, so thanks!
Welcome, Sophie!!
And bglittert1979, thanks so much for sharing that fitday link, it's been really helpful to have one of those too.
Hope you all are having a great weekend!

okay i have lost a pund this week. i really didnt think that the eating 500 less calories than the bmr, would work but it actually does! hope all you guys have had succesful days

kinda slipped off the diet today, but i'm still 9'11. I think im just going to eat low cals this week, then go back onto low carbs, cause i was craving things to much. I have to go to the gym as well.

Hi ladies - if you don't mind another newbie, I'd love to join you for some extra motivation...I only have about 5 lbs I'm still looking to lose...but I actually expect it take me about 6-8 weeks cause it's stubborn, resistant, hangin-on-for-dear-life belly fat.

Welcome ladies!

We can do this!! :D

Ok, I decided over the weekend that I'm going to have to really crunch in (obvious, but anyway:rolleyes: )... I'm going to do a 20 min program on my treadmill each morning before I get ready (M-F). Then, I'll do 2 of the longer programs and 3 workout tapes each week (I've already been doing 5 workouts a week). More water.. I've been doing "ok", but could get a lot more in. Eating... I need to make better choices and NOT overeat at night. This kills my efforts! Anyway, here's to an awesome week for us all.

GL everyone!!

Oh, yes... I had to move my ticker UP again :( I WILL get below 140 very soon, even if it kills me.

Good morning Ladies!!! Long time no See! :D I have slipped yet agian. I get so mad at myself for not sticking to my goals. I know I feel uncomfortable in my body and yet do nothing about it.As of today I am going to start my 21 day program. You know that saying, It takes 21 days to get use to, into and stay with a program or routine. Well, my first 21 days will be of doing:
20 min of Pilates dvd
Drinking 80 oz of water
Eating off of my salad plates for every meal
Logging on this website to give and get support

I am tired of failinf and it's only 21 days, right? I can so do this. Ya'll have a Awesome day and drink your WATER!!!!!:D

ARRGGGH...don't know why I hopped on the scales this am hoping/expecting to see some downward action....a) it's only been a couple days since I dropped my calories down and b) there hasn't been a single day where I've actually met the goal.

I think my head hasn't been in it all the way...gonna take it day by day the rest of the month and stop making lame excuses for myself as to why I keep going over my cal limit. So today, I'm focusing on today...and today I will eat 1500 calories. No excuses...it's not rocket science or climbing Mt Everest...it's just pushing away from the table a little sooner. Easier said than done.

Wish me luck ladies and good luck to you all as well.

Jelly, I'm sorry to hear you're frustrated but your 21 day program sounds great.

I think the weight loss is slowing down...I'm okay with that. I would like to get all of the weight off as quickly as possible but I'm sure you guys know that the last 10-15 pounds can be very difficult to get off. I don't count calories, I just eat lots of protein-enriched cereal and peanut butter and nuts for protein, cereal, raisins, and beans for fiber, and fruits and veggies. I don't eat meat or dairy. I don't eat sweets, EVER. Some people can eat just one small piece of chocolate and be satisfied...I'd just rather stay away from it or I will overeat! I drink chocolate soymilk to satisfy my cravings! For exercise I run, swim, do the elliptical, and do Tae-Bo. I also drink lots of water drink Diet 7up on occasion. Sorry for the rant...good luck everyone!

Hang in there everyone!

It's just going to be a day by day thing... sometimes moment by moment. I love that feeling though of NOT overeating.. walking away and doing something else. Then realizing it's JUST about getting past that impulse moment to dive in for second helpings or grab the bag of chips, etc.

Impluses might come pretty often for some of us, but honestly they usually go away pretty quick if we allow them to. I'm thinking of you all and can't wait to see everyone's progress.

I think it's ok to get excited about the numbers with loss and maintainence, but we definitely have to focus on fitness goals and other things. That number.. even goal will eventually get boring and we want to stay there once we get there! We ought to do a maintainence post after this.

Thanks!

Thanks for the pep talk, Kat! I needed that! :)

For the past 2 days I've been really happy about how I've been doing during the day, but then by night time I go too long without eating and get really really REALLY hungry and then I chow down at suppertime. I eat so fast I just inhale the food. It's hard b/c I can't figure out how to put dinner on the table sooner. My day is packed, so I don't get dinner even started until the kiddo goes to bed at around 7pm. So by 8 or 9 when dinner's ready I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo hungry! I've tried a pre-dinner snack, but it doesn't seem to help. Hmmm... I need to work on this!

Also, I didn't get to work out today which bums me out :(

hugs AnnaBananna

You have just described what I've done MORE times than I can imagine. Course, for me I'm pretty hungry by 5 or 6.. I couldn't wait much longer for dinner. I think it's real common to do better throughout the day, heck a busy day makes that easy.. but then chow down at supper. I don't know how many times I've even said I know I'll be hungry, so I need to be careful when I get home.... but then still blow it.

I think the key is to try as hard as possible to eat more frequently. I really hate breakfast early.. like before my classes or work, but I just make myself. I've also been taking real food for lunch instead of the vending machine grab. I take salads on the days that I work in the morning because we have a fridge there and then on days when I have classes I take a sandwich of some sort. I also keep almonds and other healthy snacks on me. I'm also keeping water handy and haven't had any pop. That's huge for me! Point being... those few changes are a big deal and will add up. I'm feeling better, but also I know I'll lose extra weight as a result of doing these things consistently. Is it always easy?... definitely not, but I'm tired of feeling run down and disppointed in myself. It's hard overeating and dealing with the guilt, not to mention the stomach ache after.. etc.

Oooops... there went another pep talk! :D When I give them I'm mostly giving them to myself, but if someone else can benefit from them that's awesome. That's what this support group is all about.

Maybe we can help you think of ideas. There has to be a way to sneak in food throughout the day. Even if it's bites here and there. Going so long like that kills your metabolism.

We'll figure something out, I bet a lot of people have good ideas here.

hi there everyone... I'm in need of some motivation to get these last 10-15 lbs off!

I have actually been a part of the wlf for like two years! on and off of course. I lost 20 lbs in about 5 months and have since fluxuated back and forth. I'm going to hawaii in about 7 weeks, and I'm getting married later this summer - and realized it's time to do this and focus on maintaining my goal weight.

But I have built some horrible habits and need to break them to get it done. I need to figure out how to make exercise a normal part of my life - instead of just something I do when the scale doesn't agree with me.

It seems like ya'll are working through these last pounds, so I thought I'd pop in and say hi! and maybe get the kick in the pants I need to really make it happen =)
