20lbs or less club

Hey guys!!! WELCOME NEW PEOPLE!!! I am so happy to see some new people here!! I can relate with most of you and it seems like a few of us are around the same weight (137-142) so good! I am 138 lbs and I really want to get back to at least 125 but I just haven't gotten motivated or have but extremely briefly. I live in a very skinny town so even though I am not really that bad I feel awful.

Casey- if you weight is displayed correctly (160) then you do need to lose weight unless you are really tall because that is overweight. I am really honest and I am not trying to be mean, but from a medical view point and for your self esteem you need to lose a little weight. I know what it's like when people tell you that you look great and don't need to lose any weight and they keep telling you that until you really need to lose weight. They tell me that too and I'm like, yeah if you like the flab attached to my stomach and the cellulite that has recently formed on my thighs!! LOL It's very frustrating because I would be more motivated if someone would actually call me fat to my face....

Glitter - Your fat!!! (OMG I cant believe I said that ;) )
Get your ass motivated and get to 125!! YA HEAR :)

Hello, all,

I've been on this forum for a while, but took a break mostly because I did not seem to find people who are on their last 20 lbs, and I believe we have a lot of the same challenges.

I am back now into the weight loss/fitness program, and I want to loose 10 percent of fat (currently 31%, would like to be around 20%). That is my long term goal.

So, I'd like to join in the club. :)

Welcome Nothingtoloose!

Why it is soooo hard to loose the last bit?? I wish it would just melt off... it is so frustrating, walking your ass off, eating blah food, grrr. Just wish it was easier.

Thanks Bglitter. I know just what you mean. I'm 5'7'' and I would just feel healthier and more comfortable at a lower weight-which is why I'm here! Hopefully the people who think I look good now will be BLOWN away in a few months!!!

Thanks, Heidi! Yes, those last 10-15 lbs are very hard to loose. But I know we can do it! Actually, my goal is really now more on fitness and changing my body composition more then anything, so if I reach my fat% goal and I'm at 125, I'll be very happy. I want to feel fit and strong.

So I am glad that we have this club to motivate each other, because it takes a lot of motivation and consistant work to get to that last goal!

I started on my self-devised program Jan. 1st, but Ive fell off the wagon the following week because of a cold (from which I'm still recovering). But as soon as I'm well again, I can't wait to start back on my exercise plan.

Nothin ToLoose~ YAY!!!!!! Welcome back!!!! I am always in and out as well. I nedd to just stay put. But of course life gets busy, even form the computer :p You could do this, STay Strong!!! See ya later

Good Morning Ladies!!!! Hope your weekend was good. I have started off my morning with two slices of wheat toast, tuna mixed with dijon mustard, a can of fresca( 0 cals) and half way through with my 1.5 liter of water :D I am sooooooo full. Oh yeah, and a handful of Lays baked doritos  I was super hungry. No wonder why I can't lose anything LOL!!!!

Anyhow, I am gonna do my Pilates and My billy Blanks ab dvd in about another hour. Then gotta do my push ups. Well, ya'll have a Great Day and Stay Positive!!!! Don't forget to drink that WATER!!!!

Looks like no one popped in here in a couple of days... How's everyone doing? I've recovered from my long cold mostly, eating fairly well, and will start my fitness routine next week again! Looking forward to feeling strong again!

Hope everyone is doing great!

Electricity is wonderful!

Well, we lost ours in the storms last Sat through this Wed. The girls and I spent most of the week with my parents. Glad that's over, but a lot in our area are still without power. What a pain!

Anyway, I only got a couple workouts in at my parents... was very lazy... did great with water.. no pop, but horrible on eating. My mom cooked up a storm and I indulged all over the place. Plus, it was my time of the month... so I kinda took the week off.

Now, it's serious time. lol I'm going to workout tonight and tomorrow so I can get in at least 4 days of exercise for this week and I'll start watching what I eat again. I weighed 140.5 at my parents toward the end of visit... so, not bad.. but I really need to kick things into gear. The university I attend was supposed to start up the 16th, but not will start up Monday... so I'll be busy, but I'm hoping that'll help.

Sorry to join in and then be gone. I'll be around a lot more now. :)

Welcome to everyone that's joined. I saw a post about calories.. I wouldn't recommend anything less than 1500 for anyone.. just my opinion though.

Tae bo fan here too!

Although, I have to be in the mood for it. I guess that is the same for all workouts, but most tapes I have I can get into pretty easily. I love the focus on the abs and booty in the tae bo. I have the original tapes.. 4 and then I have 6 of the live series. Most are really good. I wish he had a little bit better music in them, there are some places where it's very motivating.. but others are a little cheesy.

Anyway, right now I'm into my Firm tapes.. I still like the Cindy Crawford and Elle tapes. I've had those a long time. I like the Jillian (from biggest loser) dvds, those kick my butt!

What kind of exercise does everyone here do? I have tons of tapes.. probably almost 60 total and like to do some treadmill here at home.

Hi, Kat! That's awesome! I've never been a big tape or dvd person, but I am starting recently with Comcast on demand, they have free exercise videos. Although some of them are not very good.

Anway, I'm concentrating mostely on weights, because I want to build my muscle mass. My goal is to reach 20% fat (I'm now at 31%), and one of the ways to do it is to build muscle. I do cardio, but mostly as a way of increasing stamina, heart strength and lung capacity, because I don't want to be winded after walking 3 flights of stairs. For the cardio, I either jump rope, climb stairs or do those Comcast on Demand videos, 20 min or less.

For weights we have bowflex at home, and that's what I'm working out on.

Hey NothinToLose!

You're halfway to your goal! That's great, has to feel good.

My sister has a Total gym and really likes it... most people I know prefer a gym or outdoor things. I understand. Hey, whatever works we all should do. I just like the convience of working out here at home and not having to worry about how I look... plus, it's safer at home. My sister makes me nervous running by herself in neighborhoods and parks. I did do a month free pass to some classes with a good friend and we had a lot of fun. It was very motivating!

I love weight training myself. Sounds like you have a great routine. For me, the tapes just guide me. I'm not as good at doing my own workout. Plus, they push me to do more... where I'm not sure I'd do as many reps or sets on my own.

Anyway, just chatting. :) I did get a good workout in tonight.

I totally understand. I'm the person who likes to exercise at home when no one sees me. And I would not feel comfortable running in the streets and parks - most of the time. Years ago I did do a lot of biking in parks and through trails, but I felt safe doing it b/c there were many bikers out, and it is harder to attack a person on a bike, b/c of speed.

Actually, my favorite sport is horseback riding, but I still need to supplement it with weights and cardio to be really fit.

It actually took me the whole year to loose 1st 13 lbs, and even though it does seem like I've gone far, I often beat myself up for not doing better. Loosing 12 more lbs is actually my long term goal. If I get it done this year, I'll be very happy! But I have newfound motivation because I want to be fit for my favorite sport.

Way to go on your workout! I can't wait to shake off my cold so that I can get back into working out!

I agree

...with CaseyAtMartin. That is a good amount to lose and doing it more gradually will give you every advantage in keeping it off. As much as we can be tempted to do this quickly... long-term and healthful habits are definitely the only way to go.

I think this way too, we will feel more satisfied.. who wants to feel deprived on some strict program? Not me. I know people that do that, but they can't white knuckle forever.

Anyway, the horseback riding would be neat. I'll admit I'd be terrified to be on one while it was walking. It is very good exercise though! You can see how you'd use your arms, core, and legs to hang on and guide the horse.

Guess my overindulgence has caught up with me.

I think I knew when I weighed a few days ago at my parent's house, that being down was a bit too good to be true. Course, I'd done well with water and felt like I'd lost the pms bloat. Oh well. I have to change my siggy and I'm going the wrong way!
