20lbs or less club

Welcome dancer!

The "eating at night" myth is discussed quite a bit on the WLF. If you have a healthy snack at 2am and are still at a caloric deficit, you have nothing to worry about.

As for the motivation to work out, I understand that it's difficult. I keep a fitday journal---perhaps you could start your own journal and write down your exercise each day. I feel very accomplished after taking note of my workout. I'm sure others on here will have great ideas. Good luck!

So I can't actually figure out how to make my diet ticker show up bigger than the tiny little thing, but the point is 5.8Lbs down!! I started Monday, I know 2Lbs a week is a healthy aim but the first 5Lbs always drops off really fast when I start eating healthy. I think the first 5Lbs you lose is probably just water anyways. I eat around 1500-1800 calories a day and do half an hour on the elliptical or go for a walk. I'm usually a gym junkie but I have exams right now and it is just not happening LOL. Actually I really need to be studying now so I better go. I came on to post because I had a really sudden pizza craving and I figured sharing my weight loss would make me less likely to cave in. I find I get food cravings when I get stressed, like about my chem exam tomorrow :(
Anyways keep up the good work!!!

Wow, everyone's been very busy lately.
Anyways I persevered through my pizza cravings and dropped some more weight. 6.6Lbs down... many more to go lol.

Hey! Well, I just came across this club.. sounded good. I did have 21.6lbs to loose and now I have 17.8 so.. I am within the range. My highest weight was 146 about 1.5 years ago and I had it! So I lost 16lbs and gained 6 back over this past winter. I just started again about a week ago and I have lost 3.8lbs. My ultimate goal is 115 before my wedding date (5-24-08). I weighed this when I was a freshman in high school.. and when I graduated I was 123lbs so somewhere within that range would be wonderful. I have been doing yogabootyballet wich is great! and I just bought a bike and ride it 3-4 times a week! Anyways, this should be a fun ride!! Good luck!

Hey yogabootygirl!
Congrats on your weight loss this far. How tall are you? 146Lbs as a highest weight just sounds like my dream lol but I'm 5'8'' and a medium build. A wedding is a good goal and sounds like your doing a good amount of exercise so you'll have no trouble reaching your goal. My goal is to reach 145... yes your highest weight lol... and maintain it so I look and feel great this summer.
Anyways hope everyone is doing well, March is a sucky month... rainy and boring.

Welcome yogabootygirl :)
Congratulations on your progress so far! And good luck reaching your goal.

Hi everyone!

I'm at around 151 right now, hoping to get down to 135, which is around the middle range of my "healthy weight" according to BMI calculations. I started off at 160 a few months ago, so I guess I technically should have looked for the 25 pounds or less club, haha.

Good luck everybody!

YAY YAY YAY...I weighed in this morning and I'm at 133.4!! I'm crossing my fingers I finally broke the plateau I was on!!! I could not get past 135...I hope I loose a few more pounds before I get stuck again, this is such a great feeling :)

How is everyone else doing thus far?

Happy Monday :p

freshman15- I am 5'1'' and a half!! so I am very short. but also busty wich makes me look even heavier. but yeah! I hope you reach your goals too! Thanks!!!!

Hey! we're the same height and we've got the same goals! I WOULD LOVE to be at 115 again...and to be back when I was 13, that would be great wouldn't? :D

BTW, what is yogabootyballet?

mnexercisegirl

wow its great to hear from someone that has some things in common with me! I was 16 the last time i weighed 118 or 120 around there .. so I would be happy with the 123 when I graduated. The BMI thingy says that would be a healthy weight (115) so I'm trying. . . it just seems like a far far away weight. anyway, what are you doing to loose the weight,.
yogabootyballet is a set of DVDs that has fun dancing and strgenth training and then you cool down with yoga. its really fun most of all.. I dont know if it works, i've only been doing it a week but .. we'll see
good luck!!

Well, I have not been over here in a little bit so thought I'd pop in say "hello" and hope everyone is doing well. I'm in a temporary "holding pattern" because my body totally had a "oh no siree" freakout:) at losing another single 0.00001 % of body fat...so I'm just working my way back up to maint. calories until I figure out a way around it.

Sounds like everyone is doing well except for the occasonial slip up. I have them too and you just have to work harder the next day. I have a question for anyone. I have a pretty physical job working at an animal clinic and I do strength training four days a week and four days of cardio at about 30-45 minutes. I am supposed to be having 1500 cals a day. Should I up this because of my workouts. Oh yeah, and good news. I have now lost 6 lbs and am down to 152. I would like to lose about 10 more if I can. I am almost 6 feet tall so I think 142 is a good weight for me. Thanks everybody for your help.

I know i'm slightly more than 20 pounds, but that first six pounds has come on really weirdly in the last week, and will probably drop off pretty quickly.

How long does it take on average to lose around 20 pounds with dieting and excercise?

Hey xnatsx!
I started dieting last monday and I've already lost 7.8Lbs. I'm not doing anything extreme either. I eat healthy, around 1800 calories a day... and I haven't been exercising as much as I should because school is really busy lately. I find that, for me at least, the first 5Lbs drops off. I assume it's mostly water weight and just a result from eating less salt and more wholesome food. The more you lose the slower the weight loss becomes. I find once I reach 150Lbs it becomes alot harder for me to lose weight. But unfortunately losing weight is relatively easy, its keeping it off and making a lifestyle change that's not!

So my boyfriend wanted to go out for dinner last night but I stealthily got out of it lol. I just feel like I want a little more progress before I allow a cheat day. Also I find that I can't just go out and have one piece of pizza... I get in the mind set where "Oh I've already ruined today, I may as well go buy a box of chocolates, and a bag of chips". That's what I really have to get over if I want to keep the weight off for good this time. I was thinking I'd go out for sushi and then to a movie. Sushi is healthy and then we wont need to buy a bag of poporn because we'll just have ate.
My boyfriend is amazing and supportive but he doesn't think I need to lose any weight so I feel bad when he wants to go out and I dont. I probably shouldn't be complaining, "oh no, I have a boyfriend who thinks I perfect and sexy just the way I am" lol.
And truly I know I'm not fat. I'm not even chubby. I just have a little bit more of me than I would like lol.

Weighed in this morning at 132.4...so that leaves me with 7lbs to loose ( I want to be around 125lbs). However, I'm not getting toooo excited, I'm afraid it might be b/c of the meds I'm on for my allergic reaction I had...I think it made me loose my appetite. Anyways...here's to below 10lbs left to loose :)
My brother called around lunch time and surprised me, he was in my area and wanted to go to lunch...I havent seen him in awhile we live about 2hrs apart. He wanted to go to Zaxbys...ohhhh I could taste the fried chicken fingers :p but I opted for a house salad with grilled chicken and light honey mustard dressing...not bad either!! Actually it was really good....its always nice to find a yummy healthy food at a popular resturant.

Weighed in at 156.6Lbs today!!! Feeling good. I started at 165.8Lbs, so that's 9.2Lbs down. Feels good approaching the 10Lb mark... 10Lbs just seems like a substantial amount.
