Yeah, understand how it happened. I'm just saying that's what I disagreed with. It's much more weighted on how long you've been a member...the easiest rep of all (plus you can just look at the join date if you want to know that)..... but it looks like I'm being outvoted anyway so I guess the point is moot.
I dont like the spacing on the posts. Instead of every 300 posts, it should remain at 100 posts for 1 rep point--since its going to be Length of time as a member and Post driven.
If the decision is going to be to stay where we are currently (and maybe adding in a "thank you" system, as TM liked that idea, but I dont know how the other mods and members feel about it), then the length of being a member should have a just a tad higher value in points as compared to the norm.
As an example:
Every 100 posts= 1
Every 1,000 posts= 2
Length of time being a member (an ever increasing value for each year): For example, 1 year = 2, 2 years= 3, 3 years= 4, with an ending cap limit of points after 5 years)
With time "during the year" still being set at 180, for one point.
And, one could work in the other variables, pretty simply.
Edit: I changed some of the wording and values, to better serve as an example.
I havent voted yet, because the current system can work, but it needs some revision. But, presently I do not like it.
The "thank you" number would list the number of times (accumulatively) the forum member received a "thank you" from another member appreciating the content of the post, and this can be per post. Hopefully, just like the rep system, one can add in a comment line, and go to the user CP and see who gave them the thank you, and read the comment.
Best regards,
Chillen
