World's Friendliest Countries

New York, Detroit, LA, any big city.

The south where you are is quite a bit different. Once you get south of the Ohio river people are generally more friendly. there are exceptions like Atlanta. LOL

yeah they're a little bit friendlier and more polite down here, but unbelievably slow. And the food is NOT good for your figure, but sure does taste great in your tastebuds..

I skimmed that and the US was like 5th or 6th actually. Depends on day / season / geographic location.

Some Americans are extremely friendly but some are not. If you drive during rush hour as a foreigner, I am sorry, we americans need to be places so HONK HONK get out.

I spoke to a Brazilian exchange student for hours couple months ago. What I got out is, we need to be more friendly to foreinger and help those who looks confused instead of taping our feet and saying move along. You may have been in a grocery store with electronic check out before but they have never seen one. She was stuck trying to figure out how to pay for like 40 minutes. The lack of human interaction does make America less friendly. Gas station is credit card / atm as well.

My point is: lets start being more friendly to those around us. Let's take this crown from Canada. You never know what one act of kindness can do to make someone's day. I mean when someone let me in during traffic, I just go thank you in my head and it reminds me that there ARE kind people out there still and makes me feel a little warmer inside.

California cities are one of the friendlier cities compared to others....

We're so corny in Calgary that we have a section in the daily newspaper for random acts of kindness. People who return purses and wallets to their original owners, people who help change flat tires, that kind of stuff.

I agree with you about rush hour, though. We're incredibly aggressive drivers here in Calgary. I don't think any other city in Canada is as aggressive as we are. Time is money. Therefore, we want to get from point A to point B in as little time as possible. And with the urban sprawl of my city, it can take over an hour to drive from one end to the other ... and that's on a good day.

I wonder if that's what New Yorkers do. I heard some places in Asia (Korea) have this tendency to just bump into you without saying anything, and keep on going, and that it's normal for them.

When I went to NYC and was kicking it in Chinatown, that's how it was. I held the door for this little Oriental woman, and like 3 little 5 foot Chinese men scooted in too without saying a thing...LOL, ****ers. And yeah, when you bump into people, the norm is to just keep on bumpin...a local told me that back in China, there's so many ****ing people, they'd be saying sorry all day, so they don't bother...carried over to Chinatown and elsewhere in big cities I suppose.

Damn, I'm just north of the Ohio R. I guess that's why some people here are awesome, and some can suck my taint.

Hahaha yup. After I was told about it, it made sense and I wasn't really offended anymore...not that I was, it just seemed strange, haha.

OK MMW

here goes
Buddy and I got to town a day early for the concert. We had a cab take us to "the strip". we go into each bar and quickly walk out upon seeing the freakshow. We walk up and down looking for a normal bar. We get approached by 2 "women" who start talking to us and acting all friendly.
We stop under a streetlight and my buddy says

"can I ask you a question?" she says "sure"
Buddy : "why the **** do you have an adam's apple, are you a guy?"
The she males get pretty scared and take off because my buddy is about 6'-6" LOL

Then we try to get a ****ing cab out of the freak strip and they wont' come pick us up because they won't go to that part of town. We end up walking around aimlessly and finally find our hotel at like 3 am.
We actually stopped at a party store and got a 12 pack and said **** it we might as well drink since we are stuck in Cincinnati lost. LMAO!

oh yeah I have to add

several times my buddy who is drunk by now walking around said

"**** this town!! Trains go up, what the ****?"

oh theres more so much more LOL

gay guy calling us on a payphone while we were waiting for a cab, almost getting our ass beat because my buddy yells at the front of a bar
"what the **** are there any ****ing normal people in this town"

ahhh the memories

Hahaha, that's great. I wonder where you were, there's really no "strip" here. If it was downtown, there's really not a lot of freaky **** there. Then again, things change around here pretty quick, so it depends when you went. Hahaha, either way that's hilarious. It's a good thing your buddy scared em off, I'm sure you were thinkin about going for it...:D
