I weigh myself most everyday

What I have learned by joining weight lost sites. True weight is in your birthday suit without shoes. I do this first thing in the morning when taking a shower. In the even or before you go to bed your weight will be 2 to 3 points higher. Or it has been for me; you can gain water weight if you had too much salt (I use "No Salt") and what is already in the food i cook and I use other spices.

On this site I have been posting my weigh in clothes and shoes, this morning I weight 163.2. Birthday suit, I weight 161.2 after eating breakfast.

I hope to continue losing :gnorsi:

I think this is a great way to keep yourself accountable and on track for your goals.

However, in my experience daily weight ins usually lead to driving most people INSANE! :)

Like Troutman mentioned above your weight can fluctuate daily for a number of reasons like water retention, time of day or more importantly, stress levels. I own a private fitness studio and work with clients every day for weight loss and the first thing I tell them after we do their initial assessment is to go home and break their scale and NOT weigh themselves unless it is their scheduled monthly assessment (weekly would be alright too, but we do monthly).

The reason I do this is because I have had (and still do have) clients that continue to weigh themselves everyday and they come in stressed to the max because they are looking down at that scale every day looking for losses every day and they are stressed because they are not seeing huge losses like they would like to. And one of the reasons they aren't seeing losses like they want is because they are stressed the max about the scale every day!

All that stress works AGAINST your goals by flooding your body with a TON of hormones that don't like fat loss and will actually fight to hold onto that fat in your body.

Now if you're simply doing it to keep yourself accountable, then thats ok, but I would still recommend moving to at least weekly...or MAYBE 2x per week if you feel you need to.

Anyways, thats just my 2 cents from my experience with my clients :)

cmak you are right if you don't understand your weight can fluctuate daily for many reasons. It could prove to be a big disappointment, but on the other hand if you do under stand and you do get on the scales everyday. You may slide on by that big piece of home made candy or home made pie.

I weight myself everyday or every two days, but always in the morning, naked, before eating and drinking and after peeing. So it don't fluctuate like it would if I weight at different hours. It keeps me motivated !
 
I am dissappointed the last month i only gain extra pounds.
