Weight-Loss
Propel Water

Hello everyone, hope everyone is doing good :)

I am not good at the drinking water thing. Some people say drink 8 glasses of water, some say take your weight and divide it by 2, and drink that many oz of water, that would put me at 12 glasses of water a day  (not happening), I can barely drink 2 glasses. I tasted Propel fitness water from Gatorade and one bottle has about 3 glasses of water, so drinking 4 bottles of this is probably doable.

My question is, would drinking propel be considered as drinking water? It say it's water, but it's flavored and I'm not sure if your suppose to drink plain water or will this do.

This is just my opinion so I could be wrong. Propel has add nutrients and calories. It's good for when you're working out because it replenishes your body. You should try the flavored waters that have zero calories, though. They taste just as good, but you're not consuming the extra calories. Hope this helps!

I just read that propel has only 10 calories per serving. Thats nothing, you could drink it til your bladder explodes and not gain weight. And if you like caffeine, which I think it has, thats an added bonus and stimulant. So drink up!

GREAT, Propel it is!!!! I've tried drinking plain water, I've added a slice of lemon, but i just can't seem to drink alot of it, I struggle with 8 oz of plain water vs drinking a 24 oz of Propel just at lunch time alone.

You're definately right about the 10 calories thing. It's not alot, but I'm a calorie counter so I'd rather have those calories in food! :) I'm not sure about the caffeine part, but I thought you can't count caffeinated beverages as servings of water? If you could, I'd just drink coffee all day long! Anyway, I don't know. I'm sure it doesn't hurt because, like 1_day says, it's better than soda!

Water / fluids

not sure if I've posted this in the right place

I know you're supposed to have like 2-3 litres of water a day, but do you include other drinks (mainly diet coke) and what if you're drinking alcohol should i drink more / less ? ? ?

2-3 litres, would be of a non-diuretic liquid, in other words not containing caffeine or alcohol. If you do consume a diuretic, you need to replace it with even more water.

Yeah I know they get really unrealistic with the water recommendation sometimes. 64oz on top of all other liquids? Can't always do that. I'd say if you drink for ex., 4 diet cokes a day, and 4 small bottles of water, thats just fine.

Water!

If you really want to better yourself for weight loss than the 3 liters is correct and not correct. You said you drink diet coke and alcohol and that will dehydrate your body and you will need more water to balance your system out. Limit the diet coke and alcohol you drink and increase your water intake. Good Luck!

I agree with fitness coach. Dehydrating drinks mean you need more water. Water is critical for fat loss. Most people don't drink enough. Drinking more water becomes a habit, though. I never go anywhere without a one liter water bottle.

i have a question please... drinking water during exercise?

i've been exercising for 3months now.. its my first time exercising by my decision because i only exercise before when my teacher ask us to.. but now im doing it because of my own decision so im kinda new to it...

im just curious.. i know drinking water is good after an exercise right? since i lost water when i sweat.. now my question is....

ill give this scenario so you people can understand what im trying to say..

i jogging for 15mins then i drink water and rest for 5mins.. then go jogging again for 20mins or so and then drink again and rest... repeat.. repeat...

am i doing the right thing? i mean.. sometimes i wonder if drinking water while in a short break and go run again is good? since im new at this i dont really know.. im curious if drinking water during a short break is good.. because i think instead of burning more calory.. i keep burning body water because i keep drinking water during my short break...? can someone explain me that... do i really decrease the burning of calories whenever i drink water when having a short break? because if it does.. i might change it.. i may do jogging 15mins then 5mins break and then go jogging again.. and then repeat.. and then when im finish for like 1hr or 2hrs of jogging and resting.. that will be the time i will drink tons of water?

so what you guys think would burn more calory...

jogging then drink water while having break or jogging having break jogging again having break then when finish exercise.. that will be the time i will drink a water

hope you guys answer this.. thanks!

I'm sure there is someone here that can give you better advice, but I know when I was doing circuit training (curves) that they recommended you drank at least a bottle of water during you workout. I can't see that it hurts as long as you aren't drinking so much that it gives you like an upset stomach when you go back to working out....

I don't remember who said this, but it was some kind of fitness dude. He said to drink at least 8 oz of water every 10 minutes of cardio, during the workout not after.

You should be drinking water during your exercise. I doubt drinking water has anything to do with how many calories you burn.

well its been along time since my football and nutrition classes the coaches would make us sit through. The way it was explained to us was the drinking of water just keeps your furnice burning. It keeps you from losing too much salt and getting into dehydration slump. So i wouldnt stop long enough that you heart rate gets back to normal and you need to get it going again. drinking water durring a workout would almost have to be a good thing

I have water in a squeeze bottle that I drink from. I jog 4 miles a night 6 nights a week on the treadmill and it really helps. Every 5 minutes or so, I just grab the bottle and squeeze. It makes it really easy to drink while jogging. This way you can maintain your heart rate and burn more calories. So far in 7 months I have lost 47 lbs. I have 15 lbs to go to meet my major goal weight of 188.

Try a squeeze bottle, it's a lot easier then trying to drink out of a glass.

everyone is right.. but jsut a peice of advice.. if your gonna do a workout.. do it for 20 min strait.. so your body starts to work on the fat reserves.

Hi Sara,

Dont worry about the numbers. It is normal for the weight to oscillate on a weekly bases even daily between 1.5 to 5lbs. That is the reason why we should not get on the scale on a daily basis, rather once a week on the same day at the same time. And it is also important to look at the trend. Are you going up or down?

Good luck
