Thoughts on men wearing spandex / lycra running tights

Yep. I will admit my gear was very effective. I don't usually mix the two up. Saturday evening I did. The contrast of a shiny black latex with matte black leather was quite nice. I hit two nails on the head with that outfit :)

BTW, in answer to your question, yes, men/women can look good in spandex but only if they have the body to carry it off. I hate to say it, but most people don't. And most men won't wear spandex/lycra because they think it's gay. It's not. There's nothing wrong with it whatsoever. It's comfortable and essentially should feel like a second skin.
cool!
:)

Tarzan. So...loincloth. But I also had a huge leopard stuffed animal that I cut up and used as a pelt. If I find out how to put these pics on the comp I might post pics.

I have it on good word that you, once again, went as Little Orphan Annie this year. That's not half-naked, it's just ghey. :D

after reading this thread, I'm not sure I've done the right thing.
I'm starting running again after a few yrs off, I still (been told) have a nice body. But my long baggy shorts feel heavy. So I've ordered some viga running shorts, full length tights, but also some viga mini Lycra shorts, are these too short for running??

I'll probably get some soon to wear under my shorts on cold runs. Call me what you will or make fun of me but I'll be comfortable when I'm running.

I would see it as a little strange if I saw a guy just wearing them around the gym or in public etc. But, if its for an athletic event and it truly serves a purpose then I say go for it.

Yeah, I saw a few other pic's after id ordered them. Ah well. I'll try Em on and put them in the back of the draw

I agree, but LOOSE shorts over the spandex, please! Those skin tight spandex shorts showing *everything* (or not) remind me too much of the cod pieces in the Middle Ages!

Guys, size or showing off the package (no matter what) REALLY does NOT impress me or any of the women I know!!!!!!

mmm, mixed comments, when they arrive, i'll see firstly if i'm comfy in them. and go from there.
Are running shorts over lycra/spandex ok?
(I really don't mind lycra/spandex as long as the poerson has the body to wear it, either male or female)

Most running gear has some padding in the crotch so the guy isn't revealing that much. But I will agree that some men look horrifyingly disgusting in them. However, some guys look smokin' hot.

Lots of guys run with tight running gear where I live, and they all look fine to me.

It's the guys that wear tights with no padding or jock strap that I find to be on the gross side. It's just too much information ... but they're usually the guys that don't look good in lycra/spandex to begin with.

I'm used to seeing men's packages because I took ballet for many years, and we all know what male ballet dancers look like in tights. I'm pretty much immune. Really, where else are they supposed to put their equipment?

LOL....it's the thread that won't die

We'll be playing this thread for years.....

Exactly! ;)

It's not as popular as it once was, but a few years back woman in L.A. literally replaced pants & skirts with Spandex. Everywhere you looked you'd see black legs and various degrees of lower torso with different tops (sweaters, shirts, whatever). Women with a good figure looked HOT and then there were plenty of fatties walking around exposing us to their thunderous hips, wide-displacement asses and even layers of cellulite revealed as rolling bulges under the material....it was wrong, just so wrong....but of course they'd say "it's so comfortable"....yeah, tell that to my burned retina's!

Should it come as any surprise that, when it comes to wearing skin-tight or revealing garments, that men are held to the same accountibility as woman? Not really.

Some people just need to take a good look in the mirror and realize what they're presenting. One guy at my gym wears a swimming jammer to spin-class; what an idiot...no padding and you can see too much detail. He's overweight and looks terrible. His shirt isn't even long enough to cover it up. Not only do my cycling shorts or bibs have padding, but I wear shirts that pretty much dismiss the matter anyways.....

At the same time, I've seen woman out in public where you can totally see the camel-toe. Hey, I know a lot of guys who think it's sexy when you can see some G-string action rising out from atop the pants....but seeing material sucked & tucked up into a woman's vagigi...I'm sorry, it's just a herendous fashion violation, not arousing! And how about when woman squeeze themselves into spandex that is too small or worn and you can see the fabric fighting to maintain structural integrity? Done right, it's a very sexy and sporty look...and it is comfortable/fucntional...but done wrong, it's visually oppressive and that goes for both men AND woman alike!

But for men, it goes back to the saying: balls are not boobs, nobody wants to see 'em. There's no cartlidge, bone or anything other then soft-tissue down there...nothing that can't be compressed or confined to an acceptible level. Is it a testiment of your manhood? Not really...it's more a function of the temperature of your body and the temperature around you....your body moves thing in & out to regulate temperature! Beyond that, it's about how thick & tight the material is and how much padding or lining it has.

Wear black because it hides definition and make sure you have some semblance of padding to remove details...and unless you're swimming in a pool or about to jump on a bike, wear a shirt long enough to mostly cover things up.

There really truly are woman out there who dig men in lycra....but, just as the rule applies to woman, you need to have the body & shape to pull it off. I'm under the impression it's better to show too little and let them crave & want to see more...then to just let it all hang out and be vulgar.

Beyond that....it's just clothing.

I can't stop thinking about Evo in crotchless, cheekless leather chaps.

OMG ... that's some awesome mental image. In fact, it's criminally awesome :drooling1:

I'm glad there are no laws against wearing crotchless, cheekless leather chaps. Or latex ones for that matter.

all I asked really was are they too short LOL

I'm going running early Sunday with a friend who's now said expects me to wear them
