Weight-Loss The May Weight Loss Challenge

Weight-Loss
I worked the midnight shift, so I've been off since 8:00 AM. I've been playing all day. Well, I did do one errand. I need some pants that fit. I went to the goodwill and didn't find anything. I went to old navy and I found a pair of jeans with a waist of 34 that fit very nicely. Not too loose, but good enough. I don't think I've been in a 34 for decades. :hurray:
I am so close to a 34 I can taste it..
I have never bought myself 34in jeans so that means I have not fit into them for at least 16 years or so.

Love dropping sizes- I have dropped only 1 but it was from a tight 38 to a loose 36- essentially 2 sizes as far as I am concerned.:D

I'm really a loose 36, but I still got the 34s.

Doesn't matter man, doesn't matter. You bought them, you fit in them.
I could button mine- but there was issues involved- really do not want to get into it.....:D
Trying to forget that moment....

When I started I was at 38 and getting tight. Some of my 38s were too tight, but I wasn't going to 40s. Now I don't have to worry about that.

Exactly.
40 was a barrier I would not cross.
It was getting harder and harder to convice myself that all my jeans were shrinking..

Good to know that boys pull out the lame excuses too!

I know how you boys -excuse me, men- feel. I got into a size smaller pants the other day and bought them out of principal.

Congrats!

And another Monday it is. One week to go and about 2.5 lbs to lose to meet my goal. This past week was my slowest week at only 1.3 lbs lost. But if I can match my other weeks' loss then I can meet my goal of 190 or less by June 1.

May 1: 201.5
May 5 : 199.1
May 12: 196.1
May 20: 193.6
May 26: 192.3
June 1:

Lost: 9.2 lbs

Here's hoping for some more losses to be posted! Good luck everyone! One more week to go!

May 5: 220.5 lbs.
May 12: 216.8
May 19: 212.5
May 26: 214.8

Ok... while I know this looks like a gain it is actually about a 2 pound loss. I moved last week and am using a different scale in a different location. The scale shows about 4 pounds heavier than my last scale. I would be at about a 9.5 pound loss.

I think this may put me out of the race, because I can't tell you how much i have lost with 100% accuracy. I'll still keep posting though.

I swear I really did lose, not gain those two pounds. The scale and I had words this week and its lucky it has survived.

Well - finally my weightloss started happening for the month.
01/05/2008 10st5.6
18/05/2008 10st5.6
19/05/2008 10st3.8
26/05/2008 10st0.4

I know that it is poor compared to what you are all getting - but I am pretty pleased with it.

In the past week I have hit two milestones.
- 150 pounds lost
- BMI under 25 - making me theoretically "normal" - as if that were ever possible.

I just want a decent weightloss next week before it all stops again.

May 1: 229.8
May 5: 224.6
May 12: 221.8
May 19: 219.2
May 26: 217.2

wasn't a good week, but I did have a good weekend. I plan on kicking it up this week, though.:waving:

May 1: 207
May 5 : 206
May 12: 204
May 19: 200 (this weight its from Friday after my work out)
May 26: 201 (Playing catch up from my birthday)
June 1:

This has been my slowest month yet. It took a whole week for me to just get caught up to where I was. We will see how it goes this week.

Congratulations! Those are both fantastic goals to hit. I am miles away from a 25-or-under BMI.

Thanks. I have to admit that I am pretty pleased with myself about it all.

Believe me - when you start off as big as I was - you really appreciate the BMI under 25 milestone.

Great job everyone! If I have to have me arse kicked, at least I'm being kicked by great people! :D

May 2: 230
May 9: 225.8
May 16: 226.8
May 23: 225.8
May 30:

MAY TOTAL: 4.2

Not even going to post the weight since you all should know what it is....

Starting today i am back on track. I am losing so of this weight and getting past the 220 barrier....

I have wasted this month and I am not happy about it. I am using too many excuses for eating like crap and not doing cardio. I did great this winter but now all of a sudden I am hung up because I cannot run due to my groin- which I think is healed- but I can go to the gym and use the elliptical.

I am just so pissed at myself for wasting an entire month...

I know what you mean. One day turns into one week and so on. But, thankfully, I think we are all finally starting to get back on track. I'm gonna work hard right along with you and if I see you start to slip, I'll pull you back up, k? (Or kick you in the arse, whatever the situation may call for.) You can do it, sweetie. We're all cheering for you and we have no doubt that you can reach your goal. :)

You guys can consider me out of the game for this month but I will stick around to torment and torture all appropriately...

I will not defile two threads with my rantings, I will keep that for my diary but suffice it to say, I am pissed.

Congrats to everyone who managed to keep their heads out of their nether regions for the month...

*sigh* June is coming...

Don't think for a minute that you wasted a month. First, you were able to maintain your weight. That's not an easy thing at all. Many people get down to some weight that is good and then everything goes to shit. You kept at it. ate some crap. worked out and built some muscle, but in the end, you didn't gain any fat. That is an accomplishment. don't sell yourself short.

Second, and maybe just as important, you made some friends here (this challenge thread). You helped me, and I'm sure you helped others. Don't count that as a loss, either. :grouphug:

Guys it doesnt matter if you lose 10 pounds or 1 pound for the month. Its just the fact that you lost! I consider all of you still in and still winning.
