WOW. That is some message. Is this how people get to 5000 posts by filling air in their posts? I'll have to ask my gramps what ROCK ON! or smoeken' yourselves means but please.... The database will be filled up if peole did this every day you know.

Flat cooked it on the cardio session. I feel it baby! I feel I can bend steel with my mind and stare at adversity and have it run away like a whimpering dog..................I ran after this "adversity" dog, and gave it an extra kick for fricken good measure.

I have that feeling in myself and that look in my eye......no one can take, baby!

Next, my weight training session late this afternoon........The cast iron no not what is coming..........

I hear the bike still whimpering from this mornings' session........

LEAN AND MEAN, BABY!

PROPER ATTITUDE

By Dan Gallapoo

Zig Ziglar, one of the top experts in the country on attitude and motivation said, "Your attitude determines your altitude." Your attitude will determine your level of success, not only in this program, but in every area of your life. Although an exhaustive study of this topic is beyond the scope of this book, later in this chapter I will recommend a few books that have been instrumental in helping thousands of people understand the role of attitude in the quest for success.

The most important thing you need to do right now is believe that this program will bring the gains you desire, and commit to faithfully following the program for eight weeks. Nowadays it seems to be necessary to explain the word "commitment". In the age of a 60% divorce rate, kids quitting school at a record rate, and a nation that says "when the going gets tough...quit", it becomes quite obvious that most Americans do not understand or practice commitment in any aspect of their lives. That is pathetic...and that attitude will destroy ANY possible chance of success in anything ever occurring in your life.

One of my favorite teachers always used parables to get his message across, so I would like to use a little illustration to help you understand what "commitment" means. Eggs and bacon, right? Now think about what was involved in that breakfast. The chicken was involved in your breakfast...but the pig was COMMITTED!!! Commitment means that you don't quit because things start getting tough. You don't rack the weight half way through your set of squats because it hurts a little and it's hard. You don't blow off a workout because you want to watch T.V. (T.V. stands for "The Vacuum" because it sucks out your brain. All the truly successful people I know watch very little or no T.V.) You don't eating because you're tired of it or you don't want to carry your food to work or school. You don't quit this program after two weeks because you're not Mr. Universe yet. Stick with it for the whole eight weeks. Only an eight week commitment to achieve your strength and size goals! What have you got to lose? Chances are you've been in a rut and not growing for years. Change now and follow this program or you will probably be stuck in this no-growth rut forever!

Don't quit something when it gets tough and painful. If you keep pushing and staying consistent, your successful break-through is usually just around the corner. If you quit too soon you will rob yourself of the success that is within inches of your grasp. Those who have the guts to keep going through the disappointments, trials, pain, and set backs always achieve the big successes in life. It is a guaranteed law of the universe.

Those who quit when the going gets tough never accomplish anything. If you are a quitter, then welcome to "Weenie Land". You'll have a lot of company there, and everybody will have plenty of excuses to justify their miserable lives. You can expect to wallow in mediocrity, at best, for the rest of your life.

If you have been a quitter in the past, choose to change that right now. You have the capacity to change. You were engineered for success, designed for accomplishment, and endowed with the seeds of greatness. Study the books that I recommend and start to understand the power that you have available. Start to understand how your mind works and start putting in positive information every day to counteract all the negative seeds that have been planted in your mind over the years. You can really achieve any goal that you set your mind to. Napoleon Hill in the classic success book Think And Grow Rich said, "Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve."

Write your goals down with a date that you want to achieve them. A goal without a date attached is just a wish. Believe that you can accomplish whatever you commit to, every day begin to visualize the outcome you desire, and develop a day by day, or week by week plan to attain those goals.

Keep recornds of your training and eating. This will not only log your progress but will keep you from slacking off. If you look back over three weeks of training logs and find out that you have been doing the same weight and reps in your exercises, then you know it is time to start pushing yourself. I really started making consistent progress when I started keeping a training log.

I know that this program will provide the results that you have been hoping for, if you really follow it faithfully. I wish you all the best and all the muscle and success that you are willing to work for!

Thanks Chillen, maybe we could meet on yahoo sometime

Jackie xx

Weekends will be the best opportunity, young lady. Work 7 to 3, and then workout out shortly after this, and then family in the evening (holiday get togethers--sisters, brothers, friends, etc), and then cardio in evening, then bed.

Anytime on weekends basically.....name it and we rock it! :)

Things are well at work (network engineer), which give a fair amount of free time.

Best wishes to you young lady!

It was PARTY TIME today!

It was a ROCK AND ROLL PARTY with my body, and I won. :)

I liiiiiiiiike it when I can eat a tad more (compensate) and still maintaining deficit, when we rock with the "personal" work that needs done, baby!

Cardio #1: AM (5:00 AM) (25m)

Upper Body--Late afternoon (yes, I am gonna disclose it, patience)

Cardio #2: PM (around 6PM) (25m)

Cardio #3: (just after 7:00PM) (25m)

Weight training time: 40m, (1 minute rest periods between sets)
Total cardio time: 75m

Work: 9 hours

Even made dinner for the family (and did dishes afterwards), washed and dried laundry, assisted in feeding my wifes father, and putting him to bed. My wife and I are a TEAM. Its not a one sided situation.

There is always time to train folks, and I am an old man to most of you!

ROCK ON!

KEEP WORKEN AT IT!

Let us ROCK with an opinion on PERSISTENCE!

How To Develop Persistence

As an Internet Marketer, I’ve seen countless people set themselves challenges and fail to meet their lofty goals. But why do they fail?

Is it the plan that is at fault?
Is it the lack mindset they hold?
Is it their lack of persistence?

Since acquiring a habit of persistence is connected with the mindset, I firmly believe that acquiring the correct mindset is crucial before taking on any goals. If you get your mindset right first then the correct plan and the right people will be drawn to you through the utilization of the Law of Attraction.

This explains why one person can disclose their plans that created them great fortunes and yet another person attempts to follow the plans and fails. The mindset of the two individuals was different.

The truth is that you don’t need a detailed plan with every step already worked out for you. You do need a good idea of where you want to be and how you intend on getting there, but the smaller details of these plans will fall into place once you’ve practiced a success mindset.

Persistence is just one of the habits you MUST have in order to acquire a success mindset.

Napoleon revealed four steps which are essential to developing a habit of persistence:

There are four simple steps which lead to the habit of PERSISTENCE. They call for no great amount of intelligence, no particular amount of education, and but little time or effort. The necessary steps are:

1. A DEFINITE PURPOSE BACKED BY BURNING DESIRE FOR ITS FULFILLMENT.

2. A DEFINITE PLAN, EXPRESSED IN CONTINUOUS ACTION.

3. A MIND CLOSED TIGHTLY AGAINST ALL NEGATIVE AND DISCOURAGING INFLUENCES, including negative suggestions of relatives, friends and acquaintances.

4. A FRIENDLY ALLIANCE WITH ONE OR MORE PERSONS WHO WILL ENCOURAGE ONE TO FOLLOW THROUGH WITH BOTH PLAN AND PURPOSE.

Let’s have a look at each of these four statements…

1. A DEFINITE PURPOSE BACKED BY BURNING DESIRE FOR ITS FULFILLMENT. As already discussed in Chapter1: Desire, acquiring a Burning Desire for your intended outcome is the first step towards acquiring riches of any kind. Without such a passionate desire, you will be easily knocked off of your horse at the first hurdle.

2. A DEFINITE PLAN, EXPRESSED IN CONTINUOUS ACTION. Although your definite plan of action will become attracted to you by creating a burning desire to achieve your goal, you do need a solid plan to begin continuous action. This plan should be decided upon with the aid of your mastermind group. Just remember, reach your decisions promptly but change those decisions slowly (if at all).

3. A MIND CLOSED TIGHTLY AGAINST ALL NEGATIVE AND DISCOURAGING INFLUENCES. From a Law of Attraction perspective, if you no longer focus on the negative aspect of a family member or friend, then that part of their personality CANNOT be shown to you. Even if that person had nine personality traits you disliked about them, but had one personality trait that you did enjoy – if you could hold your attention on that one good aspect of that person and make that your dominant vibration around the person then by the Law of Attraction you would only be eligible to be around that person when they are demonstrating that one good aspect of their personality.

4. A FRIENDLY ALLIANCE WITH ONE OR MORE PERSONS WHO WILL ENCOURAGE ONE TO FOLLOW THROUGH WITH BOTH PLAN AND PURPOSE. Having someone to provide encouragement and hold you accountable to complete regular tasks is vital to your success. You can find this person in your mastermind group. Alternatively you should consider seeking a business coach to help you remain accountable and provide the necessary knowledge that can help you avoid costly mistakes that you may have made if you were going it alone.

“Bad habits are like a comfortable bed, easy to get into, but hard to get out of.”

(author unknown)

Chillen in an opinion on habits:

While it’s true that bad habits are sometimes hard to break, the same can also be true of good habits. At first, you might have to work hard to form a good habit, but over time the good habit will come easy to you. Good habits can be a great foundation for consistency in other areas of your life as well.

==========================================================

I believe in all of you. Each one of you are special. Each one of you deserve to earn the goal you so desperately want and desire. I want to do what ever I can to assist you to it. Believe in yourself. Be wise and think you CAN, it is in all of you.

===========================================================

The best is yet to come. You havent seen anything yet. Im going to put those pics of myself I posted to the forum to UTTER SHAME.

I hope your day went well and brought all of you much happiness and joy.

To swear off mistakes is very easy. All you have to do is swear off having ideas.”

Source: Sparkpeople.com

Chillen in some thought processes:

A well-lived life is not for the timid. The world was never meant to be approached with extra caution and fear of making mistakes. Kids know that you have to jump in feet first and be willing to take some lumps on the head if you're going to have any fun at all. When did we stop trying new things? Why did we stop taking risks? In large part, we're afraid of screwing up. We've settled into our comfort zones and don't want to look like a fool, to ourselves or others. What's the price we pay for our pursuit of perfection? No growth, no sense of discovery, few real experiences. The sacrifice isn't worth it. Are there points in your life that you wish you could have back because you didn't pursue an idea or a new interest? Those chances are gone forever -- but you'll have more in the future to take full advantage of. It's been said that most people don't learn much that's new past their 20's. That's an awful long time to stay stagnant. The only mistake you should be afraid to make is not trying.

=========================================================

“Concentration is the ability to think about absolutely nothing when it is absolutely necessary.”

Chillen in some additional thought processes:

Focus. See nothing else. Hear nothing else. It’s only you and the goal you are about to achieve. That person in the third row screaming that you’re no good? Their voice is no more significant than the distant roar of traffic is to a sailor. This is the only game you’re in right now. Try to go through each day focusing on one game, one goal, at a time. Scoreboard watching – paying attention to too much at once – will only distract you. It clouds your judgment and slows your reaction time. Save tomorrow’s plans and yesterday’s failures for some other time. Right now, it’s all about this one goal. You see it, you can picture it. You know how to make it happen. It’s time to concentrate on that vision and carry it out.

==========================================================

You have the heart, your have the brain, you have the ability. Use all of it, and then pull something out that you thought you didnt have.

Personal adversity is your learning PLACE; beat it up without a TRACE then EMBRACE your goal with your FACE.

Peanut Butter on Shredded Wheat

1 servings

1 shredded wheat biscuit (the natural whole wheat kind)
2 tablespoons NPB
1 cup of milk (or however much you prefer) Skim, 1%
1 tablespoon Splenda (or sweet to taste)

Spread the peanut butter on the shredded wheat biscuit

Place the biscuit in a cereal bowel and cover with milk.
Microwave the bowel for about 2 minutes, or until the milk is warm and the peanut butter is soft.
Sprinkle Splenda on top of peanut butter, and enjoy!

I tried this, and it ROCKS! (At least with me, HEHEHE)

As you guys know I love the heck out of Peanut Butter, lol. I was in a rather onery mood today ( :)), he, he. My wife threated to roll me in the snow, (which the snow would stick on me--think snowman), and leave me out there--EEK! I said as long as she fed me Natural peanut butter from time to time........I would be just fine........ :)

Okay, brotha and Sista's, I have decided to go on my own with the leg issue. I have a rather "experienced" Doctor/Certified Trainer I trust that is a very good friend of mine, and she has provided some input I need that fits within the containment of my personal goals. Appropriate experience (and practical application of book knowledge through the years) can be a vast improvement over inexperience any day of the week and twice on Sunday. So I move on with this logical approach.

We talked in great length the other day (she knows my history), and she gave me several ideas to work with, and I have selected one and taking off to see if it will work. If not, I select another from the group and so forth. One WILL work, baby.....I know it! :)

So we ROCK ON and MOVE ON,,,,,,,,and great the goals that lie ahead with a fierce vengence.

I have developed my own plan, and this new plan begins this week.

=========================================

Hope this day is great for everyone!

Happy New year!

I saw one of my old posts in this thread:http://training.fitness.com/young-athletes-development/need-motivation-29159.html

And, thought I would repost it for those that havent seen it. It may or may not spin off some thought one of the valuable forum members I care so much about:

FIGHT THIS FEELING BABY........GIVE YOURSELF A CHANCE!

I am all about trying to motivate the brotha and sista's! YEP!......HEY! LETS ROCK THIS THING!

I give the brotha some food for the brain:

I think you need to fully disclose your goals. In addition, I think you need to fully provide your diet details and your training v. rest routine. And, I mean be detailed in the response.

Have you been keeping training log, where you enter weight per exercise, number of sets performed, and reps completed? Are you being, or attempting to be, progressive in your weight training program? How many days of rest per week do you allow? The importance of a training log is so fundamentally crucial, I can’t express this enough.

For example, it can be record of your progression, and if a sticking point surfaces, you will be able to pinpoint when it occurred—exactly, and then compare this to the data in your diet journal, which is another log I advocate in creating. With the sticking point example you then will be able to examine your diet record up to the point of the complication, and see “if” the diet is causing the sticking point, and make adjustments in diet in some unilateral fashion.

In addition, you can use these consistent records of your diet and routine to compare against your physical results, and can be a base of information to use to form a change of plans “if” the body feedback isn’t the one you are wanting.

The Diet and Weight Training Routine will be forever a “married couple”, but a lot of persons tend to forget the “siblings” in the equation that are sometimes more powerful than the “married couple”; however, can cause “uncontested divorce or separation” of the “married couple”.

Within the “married couple” only one is really natural: The Diet. We all have to eat. But we do not have to weight train.

The “siblings” effecting the “married couple” are any environmental factors within the circumference of our daily living that can perform a “cause and effect” on the “married couple”, and having a cognitive understanding that the reverse is also true: the “married couple” can have a “cause and effect” on the “siblings”.

One could obviously say that tracking the diet details on paper isn’t natural, and I would tend to agree (and if tracking can be done “mentally” then it serves the same purpose).

However, for the average Joe and others, when a problem surfaces they need a “Tool Foundation” and mental stimulus set in advance to assist in opening wider and/or enabling true circumference of vision of the environment and their placement within it, to permit “effectiveness” in dealing with it: “Bitching” about it solves “Nothing”, and not knowing where to look or begin to look for answers can enhance and/or compound the problem.

EMBRACE the “siblings” of PAIN.

Pain is a powerful force, and takes on many faces. It can bring you up and bring you down, but it’s not the pain that causes this teeter-totter, it’s the application of your mind and how one uses it to deal with it that is the ultimate decision maker.

(Chillen)

You cannot control everything that happens to you, but you can control your attitude toward what happens to you, and in that, you will be mastering change rather than allowing it to master you.

(Chillen)

Have your mind WIDE OPEN, and allow progress in your training to be a BASE for your motivation to bread INTO other aspects of your life, and use your brain to bring in differing aspects of inspiration to keep you motivated when your lifestyle enironment wants to sand blast your interal will and desire.

Really brotha its about consistancy.

Alot of forum members think I do some magical diet or routine when in reality its just staying true to diet, consistancy in weight training (using basics and some advanced techniques), and above average will and desire.

And, this is it. Theres isnt nothing special about it. Consistancy in application pays OFF====and this is the bottom line. Nothing so magical there.

===============================================================
One of the KEY things I did when I first started was I kept telling myself that no matter what happens, I will pursue and keep "the aspects of my goal" in line and continue.

One has to MAKE IT A PART OF ONES LIFE and allow themselves to work with it as they would when problems and complications come up.

If work interferred and I absolutely had no choice not to train, then I kept my diet tip top (because this, in my opinion, is over half the battle), and I was still moving forward, though I lacked the training through no fault of my own, but rather to---living facts of life. This in itself can be motivating.

In other words, if the things in life bother you keep the apsects of training in line and do the ones you have control over, and try not to fall off "totally".

Have a plan of action. Most importantly, blend diet and fitness within your life as you would other important values, and you will win more than you lose.

True POWER is application of Wisdom and this can come through--MASTERING YOURSELF.
==========================================================
Answer all my questions and step UP to the plate for yourself and lets get this thing going for you........

The mind can be a friend and/or foe, in either case you are in control of variances in the equation.

You are the KING.......Remember this:

“I am, indeed, a King, because I know how to rule myself.”

Best wishes to you my friend,
