Coooooool! Totally, do it! We need more of us old guys bulking ;) But seriously for me it's more fun than cutting - never being very hungry, getting to really focus on the weights, not doing all that cardio, adding to yourself rather than taking away. I love the feeling of all those nutrients flying around in my body!

On the other hand, losing that lean look is a little depressing. Sometimes I look in the mirror and think damn. I just try to think forward to when I've got more muscle and I know it'll be pretty easy to cut off that extra fat when I finish the cal surplus.

Are you an endomorph, meso, or ecto, Chillen? I just did some reaidng on bulking for endo's (I'm endo/meso leaning more towards endo though) and got some interesting info, there are some links in my log. A lot of the guys on the forum sound like ecto's and plus are a lot younger than us with fast-ass metabolisms, so they don't have to worry as much. In an attempt to minimize fat gains, I'm going to try a moderate carb/high protein intake (30c/30f/40p) intake for a couple weeks and see what the results are.

In my opinion, cutting is easier and than bulking, especially for us oldsters, but who wants easy?! Go for the challenge and show us how it's done Chillen!!

WOW! :)........I am very grateful for your response! Thank you! +rep for your thoughts and time, Phil!-------MEANS ALOT!

I havent taken the time to determine whether I am a endomorph, meso, or ecto.

But in nearly two years of dieting and training, Ups and downs, and one "gainer dumb" period, I have learned what works and what doesnt for me.
I have my caloric figures narrowed down to near science in accordance to what I "specifically" do, and its more elaborate then most would probably endure---but has really paid off in getting myself lean. Now it will pay off in the opposite direction.

I am VERY meticulous in the caloric sense....and this is what mainly made me decide to do a regular bulk: The knowledge I have of my own body, how many calories it burns in a day (with work, etc, etc), how it responds to different exercises, what exercises it doesnt respond to, how and when to eat, etc.

My MT line is pegged, so this is a great base of knowledge--and though it began with Benedict.....it slowly got adjusted through my bodily feedback......and benedict is not even close to "my reality" of the MT line.

The problem with me was mentally: I have conditioned and trained my mind to "close my mouth" not to "open the mouth".....LOL. This presented a small complication to think over and debate--in my head.

The other was just the plain TRUTH and bottom line: I was afraid to let go of the torso I had worked so dang hard to obtain; to see them get covered was another mental barrier to get passed.

But, I have my mind right to "open the mouth" in accordance to my knowledge of my persona MT Line, and allow about a 3 to 4 month bulk and I will make adjustments along the way I am sure (in training and diet), and my past history lesson and knowledge learned will play a key role in this bulk.

Thank you Phil for your kind words and thoughts........By the way I started today......(and I do PLAN TO ROCK ON and SHOW HOW ITS FRICKEN DONE!)

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm doing pretty well. My computer came back from the repair shop, but I still can't use it. They didn't have a replacement power adapter and chord. We just ordered one off of ebay. It's getting shipped from Canada though, so it will be a while before I can use my computer. :(

The fitness stuff is gong well. I'm sticking to my diet plan and I'm slowly gaining weight. I weighed myself this morning and I'm at 116 lbs. I used to be 114 lbs in the morning. It makes me happy to know that I'm making progress. :)

Are you sticking with my caloric suggestions and weighing time suggestions?

Yep, I'm weighing myself in the morning every couple of days and I'm doing my best to estimate calories. Sometimes I eat out, so its hard to calculate it exactly.

Just try to get a mental clear picture of what you are eating when you eat out....and of course make good selections. And, then take this mental picture, and google approximated caloric figures......and get a rough idea--just something fairly close.....KEEP ROCKEN!

Hey........since you kept the advice I have this for ya!
