Wats up Chillen, how life treatin ya???

I responded to your profile message, Wes. Things are well.

Chillen you gun. Not sure if you remember me...I left early in December as i went away.
Back now still have been training but obviously havent posted it here.

Not sure if your still active if you are how's everything?

Good to have you back LT. Things are well. Of course I am still active :) Just been busy with a lot of personal items lately.

Sure has been quiet in here. I sure hope all is well with the move and the family, Chillen.

Hey, Wojo! :) :)

The move went well. Its been an extremely busy the last few weeks with moving stuff into our new home around work and training at the same time.

Absolutely love our new place. Mom (my wife) hasn't been extremely crazy about the three boys (myself and two sons) huge stereo systems playing at the same time: But she seems a bit tolerant, lol :)

Took us more than a week to move in, and nearly another week to get things organized.

I am going to show some pics of my new home gym. Its absolutely fabulous. I do not need headphones any more while working out, and finally (after all these years in having them), I can finally, finally, turn on my Klipshcorns to their performing potential. I also have one computer system in the corner (lap top), that is specifically used for recording my progress in diet and training. It has no mirrors. Mirrors are a distraction to me. I am in the gym for one thing: The Personal Improvement Business.

Thanks for asking Wojo. I plan to post more regularly to the COL, beginning next week, and get back to normal! :)

Hope all is well with you! :)

Best wishes

Chillen

Mirrors are great for checking form.

February 07, 2009: "Thoughts for the Day"

Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing:

You have to make the mind run the body.

Never let the body tell the mind what to do.

The body will always give up.

It is always tired morning, noon, and night.

But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired.

When you were younger the mind could make you dance all night, and the body was never tired…

You’ve always got to make the mind take over and keep going.

(George S. Patton, U.S. Army General and 1912 Olympian)

Dare to Battle!

“It is impossible to win the race unless you venture to run, impossible to win the victory unless you------------>dare to battle.”

(Richard Devos)
=========================================================

“The battle of life is, in most cases, fought uphill; and to win it without a struggle were perhaps to win it without honor. If there were no difficulties there would be no success; if there were nothing to struggle for, there would be nothing to be achieved.”

(Samuel Smiles quotes (Scottish author, 1812-1904)

=========================================================

This is the quote I think about when I am experiencing the side effects from low carbing, and when utilizing glucose depletion workouts:

I am not here to win a popularity contest. (referring to the head aches, etc)

But, I produce a popularity contest with the end result. (Lean and mean)

Like that sort of friggen battle..........LETS GET IT! :)

=========================================================

Giving up is simply not an option…

Sometimes you need to sit down and remember exactly WHY you have fitness goals and WHY it is important to you. If you do not know WHY you are working so hard it will be very easy to give up.

If you are very serious about building your body, losing weight or whatever, giving up on the promotion of this why, and building its foundation through education.........is simply NOT an option. If you quit every time something becomes a bit overwhelming, or you do not understand it all, how do you expect to earn your fitness goal?

It saddens me when I see people throw in the towel and say “it was too hard” so I couldn’t do it or when they struggle and do not know what to do.

It saddens me because they are giving up on their dreams and they are giving up on their self.

Of course you are overwhelmed! Especially if you are new and do not know much about diet and fitness and trying to apply to your specific lifestyle.

But you can make it work......

You need to understand that everyone of us (at one time or another was in the same place as you at one time in their diet and fitness goals) and we felt the EXACT same way when we started.

GIVING UP IS SIMPLY NOT AN OPTION!

Got that? It is not an option.
=========================================================

In the name that is the best within you............

You must battle.

Failure is not an option.

We all have the ability to excel, you just have to have the ability to remove...your...personal obstacles.

Best wishes

Power of Thought: Effect of Thought on Health and the Body

(By James Allen)

As A Man Thinketh: Effect of Thought on Health and the Body

The body is the servant of the mind.

It obeys the operations of the mind, whether they be deliberately chosen or automatically expressed. At the bidding of unlawful thoughts, the body sinks rapidly into disease and decay; at the command of glad and beautiful thoughts, it becomes clothed with youthfulness and beauty.

Disease and health, like circumstances, are rooted in thought. Sickly thoughts will express themselves through a sickly body. Thoughts of fear have been known to kill a man as speedily as a bullet, and they are continually killing thousands of people just as surely though less rapidly. The people who live in fear of disease are the people who get it. Anxiety quickly demoralizes the whole body, and lays it open to the entrance of disease, while impure thoughts, even if not physically indulged, will soon shatter the nervous system.

Strong, pure and happy thoughts build up the body in vigor and grace. The body is a delicate and plastic instrument, which responds readily to the thoughts by which it is impressed, and habits of thought will produce their own effects, good or bad, upon it.

Men will continue to have impure and poisoned blood so long as they propagate unclean thoughts. Out of a clean heart comes a clean life and a clean body. Out of a defiled mind proceeds a defiled life and corrupt body. Thought is the fountain of action, life and manifestation; make the fountain pure, and all will be pure.

Change of diet will not help a man who will not change his thoughts. When a man makes his thoughts pure, he no longer desires impure food.

If you would perfect your body, guard your mind.

If you would renew your body, beautify your mind.

Thoughts of malice, envy, disappointment and despondency rob the body of its health and grace. A sour face does not come by chance; it is made by sour thoughts. Wrinkles that mar are drawn by folly, passion and pride.

I know a woman of ninety-six who has the bright, innocent face of a girl. I know a man well under middle age whose face is drawn into inharmonious contours. The one is the result of a sweet and sunny disposition; the other is the outcome of passion and discontent.

As you cannot have a sweet and wholesome abode unless you admit the air and sunshine freely into your rooms, so a strong body and a bright, happy or serene countenance can only result from the free admittance into the mind of thoughts of joy and good will and serenity.

On the faces of the aged there are wrinkles made by sympathy, others by strong and pure thought, others are carved by passion. Who cannot distinguish them? With those who have lived righteously, age is calm, peaceful and softly mellowed, like the setting sun. I have recently seen a philosopher on his deathbed. He was not old except in years. He died as sweetly and peacefully as he had lived.

There is no physician like cheerful thought for dissipating the ills of the body; there is no comforter to compare with good will for dispersing the shadows of grief and sorrow. To live continually in thoughts of ill will, cynicism, suspicion and envy is to be confined in a self-made prison hole. But to think well of all, to be cheerful with all, to patiently learn to find the good in all - such unselfish thoughts are the very portals of heaven. To dwell day to day in thoughts of peace toward every creature will bring abounding peace to their possessor.

All is good here. Don't you worry about me, though. You've got your hands full enough! :speechless: Good to see you back.

That's good to here! We are mopping up lose ends around the house, and finally life is getting......close to being normal again. Its the little things we missed in our planning that are biting our butts at the moment, but we are working with it, baby!

I am really pumped in moving in this house. Its more than the physical move, its the "purpose of the move". One of the primary jobs (if you will) of a father is to open up and remove obstacles (that can be removed) for their children, and allow them to pursuit their dreams, while young and in their prime of their lives. I have spent nearly my entire life (since my oldest was born in 1985, and my youngest in 1988), putting "belief" into their hearts. It began as simply as working with them as a child in child-like things and progressing into more complex areas when they became teenagers (I think you know what I am referring to, Wojo), and I will go to my death bed, making them believe in their heart they can accomplish anything in life they want, and handle any complications that come up in life.

Its good to hear all is well, Wojo. Really.

"Tell yourself that thousands and tens of thousands of people, not very intelligent and certainly no more intelligent than the rest of us, have mastered problems as difficult as those that now baffle you”

Do Your Limiting Beliefs Block Your Health and Fitness Goals?

"All the flowers of all the tomorrows are in the seeds of today and yesterday"

"All the so-called "secrets of success" will not work unless you do."

Limiting beliefs they seem to be with us for most of our lives, some of us manage to move past a few of them but then more seem to rear there ugly heads.

For instance if you are currently doing your best to maintain a health and fitness program and yet, have a limiting belief that you have always been plump and unfit, you just might find yourself sabotaging your best efforts to become fit and healthy.

“I’ll just skip a day,” or “I have a headache today,” or “I deserve a treat, I’ve been so good for so long,” any of these are ways to avoid doing what we know we need to and worse yet they lead to another day and then another day when we give ourselves more and more reasons not to have to continue doing what we know is good for us.

What are some ways you can get past these moments and keep up the good work? Just relying on willpower will not work, give yourself the gift of new habits of thinking along with your new body.

Try these:

Question your assumptions about your reality, has it always been true or can you remember or find a time when it wasn’t? To do this you will have to listen in on your mind-talk and when your mind says something about ‘always’ or ‘never’ as in, “I’m kidding myself, I’ll never be slim and healthy, no-one in my family has ever been slim” grab that thought and ask yourself immediately, “Why not?” and “Never?” find someone in your family that proves that thought untrue, even if it is yourself. Have you ever been slim and trim? Prove that thought untrue and you will have opened up and moved your boundaries and limitations.

Once you have begun to move your boundaries, remain open to new information about yourself and your life, find beliefs that suit the way you want to be and the way you want life to be. Try it on for size and see if it fits, by giving it a few weeks to prove itself to you and then actively look for moments in your life when it does. (This is what we do with our limiting beliefs, so your mind is used to proving you right - remember you are always right as you will always actively look for proof that you are and actively avoid looking at or remembering moments that prove you wrong - if you believe you can’t you will find evidence to prove that in your daily life and become blind and deaf to the evidence that proves you wrong, and the same if you believe you can - personally I’d much rather believe I can!)

Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe : German philosopher, scientist & writer
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749 - 1832):

I have come to the frightening conclusion that I am the decisive element. It is my personal approach that creates the climate. It is my daily mood that makes the weather. I possess tremendous power to make life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration; I can humiliate or humor, hurt or heal. In all situations, it is my response that decides whether a crisis is escalated or de-escalated, and a person humanized or de-humanized. If we treat people as they are, we make them worse. If we treat people as they ought to be, we help them become what they are capable of becoming.

=========================================================

Whenever a negative thought concerning your personal power comes to mind, deliberately voice a positive thought to cancel it out.

Today I want you to become aware that you already possess all the inner wisdom, strength, and creativity needed to make your dreams come true. This is hard for most of us to realize because the source of this unlimited personal power is buried so deeply beneath the bills, the car pool, the deadlines, the business trip, and the dirty laundry that we have difficulty accessing it in our daily lives. When we can't access our inner resources, we come to the flawed conclusion that happiness and fulfillment come only from external events. That's because external events usually bring with them some sort of change. And so, we've learned to rely on circumstance outside ourselves for forward or backward momentum as we hurtle through. But we don't have to do that any longer. We can learn to be the catalysts for our own change.

I have an idea. At one point, theGooch and I, starting a team fitness journal. I haven't heard from theGooch for quite sometime (several weeks). I e-mailed him, and he said he needed a break from the forum. So, I need a partner. Would one of you be willing to partner with me? I will get one of the mods to change the title if one of you decide to take this on.

One of the motivation problems I have been having with this team journal is the extent of my personal fitness journals I keep, and then having to post to the forum journal. So, I will need assistance with this. This is the main reason, I never had one on the forum.

Let me know. If you both want to do it, we can make a threesome, and this would be too cool.

Best wishes

Heya Chillen

I find the time to post on the forum. My drive to assist people, will never die (until I am in casket). I do this in my life and on the forum.

The problem is that I keep a rather extensive diet and fitness record (some hand written, and some electronic), and rewriting these to a personal journal on the forum, seems rather personally redundant.

So I mentally fight between this and posting the information (in a regular fitness journal) in the event one could benefit. I battle between these two.

If feedback is good then this could assist posting to the new fitness journal (with the person I am sharing it with, and others), otherwise their is no point.

I have been extensively successful without a fitness journal on the forum; therefore, the purpose of the journal (primarily) would to benefit the person and/or persons sharing the journal with me, and the ones viewing and/or posting. I would deem this as beneficial because it is helping other persons, but not necessarily assisting me in the context I am wanting to put this in.

I would need one or more persons who are willing to "regularly" post to this journal, along with quality interaction and involvement. Or it simply will not work for me, and I will continue to do things on my own and have been quite successful at this. I hope you understand the context I am trying to put this in.

I would want "regular interaction" from the person and/or persons sharing the journal with me, and to be quite serious in what we are involved in.

Underneath my motivational behavior is a person who is driven, and carries a box of sandpaper as butt wipes. I can offer a lot (I think), but the person has to be willing participant and quality interaction is simply a requirement in this fitness specific journal.

I would certainly welcome you as my partner, but participating "regularly" will be required. I understand certain things come up (I just moved recently, and this has affected my posting on the forum). However, what I am looking for is "consistency" and "active participation" through out the up coming months. If you can do this, this would be fantastic.

I am also going to wait and see what Wojo has to say, and we can go from there.

:) Hope your day is great Jackie.

Hey Chillen.

Great to see you posting again, haven't seen you on in a while.
Should jackie pass up that offer I'd be happy to take the place, I'll update religiously with freakish detail.

I'm currently doing a carb cycling diet, basically consisting of high, medium and low carb days, I'll provide the link to the plan if you're interested.

What have you had success with for dropping BF%?

Best regards

Hey Chillen.

Great to see you posting again, haven't seen you on in a while.

I just got settled into a new home just recently, and this took up a lot of time the past few weeks. But we are back to normal and settled now. Didn't miss a beat in my training and dieting at the same time. "Always room for that", just have to plan, and make room.

Should jackie pass up that offer I'd be happy to take the place, I'll update religiously with freakish detail.

I am going with the two to three team aspect anyway. I am looking for commitment. Commitment to the self and commitment to the personal cause. Sure you can join if you want, this would be cool.

I'm currently doing a carb cycling diet, basically consisting of high, medium and low carb days, I'll provide the link to the plan if you're interested.

Yes, I am interested in seeing what you are doing.

What have you had success with for dropping BF%?

To make a long story short: After three months of NOT figuring out what worked (2007), I learned that cycling carbohydrates down (at the time I was hitting 0 carbohydrates and going Keto for a few weeks), and kept the same heavy training routine, but added in high energy expenditure component exercises.

The second time (bringing in the experience of the first attempt), I Cycled Carbohydrates down to about 30 to 50 grams, and would hit near 100 grams toward the end of the period (and was very strict on what types of carbohydrates I consumed), with much success. This is notwithstanding calorie cycling and other food manipulations at the same time. If necessary (and it did prove to be necessary when BF got below 10%), I will add in depletion of glucose stores, and adjust my training method to accommodate this approach method from my diet. Depletion of glucose stores (at least with me), is only necessary when my fat content is low, and I am wanting to hit the almighty stubborn area (which for me, is the traditional lower ab and lower back). Normally all I have to due is develop a calorie deficit to lose fat tissue (when BF is high), if I want to lose it faster (I manipulate the carbohydrate--mainly), or am attempting to get leaner (from being already lean), then lowering glucose stores or.....depletion of glucose stores become necessary (short version)

I am in a bulk now, of which I primarily carbohydrate and calorie cycle (to make this brief). I respond strong to it, and keep my BF low at the same time as you shall see in August 2009.

Best regards,

Chillen
