Weight-Loss The Amazing Race Challenge Legacy Red Ladies Team

Weight-Loss
Omega - I'm well aware that I will have to do the last challenge. I can assure you that I will not cause a PROBLEM for the last roadblock.

The girls on my team have been very supportive - and know what I have been going through over the past couple of months financially. I would not have entered the contest if I felt that I would NEVER be able to do a roadblock.

Girls - if you feel the same way as Omega..PLEASE tell me! I am not a high maintenance person that isn't willing to play my part on our team. If neither one of you wanted to do this last roadblock (which you both told me you had no problem with) I would have figured something out and got it done.

I did do the salmon roadblock - but did not keep specific count because Nicole claimed it after we all agreed that she would be the one to do it.

Sorry if I sound a bit snappy, Omega - I just don't appreciate being treated as the "weak spot" in the team.

I do not consider you to be the weak spot in your team - and I am sorry that you took my comment that way.

I simply wanted to alert you to the fact that you would need to do the final roadblock. You had been confused on 12th April as to the difference between roadblocks and detours in the main thread:

Am I missing it..or is there no detour this week?

And you had already been confused on 28th March on page 6 of this thread:

I saw what Kimberly wrote about all team members doing one of the detours - and I don't know why I was under the impression that only one of us had to do it. I did eat Salmon twice this week, but I didn't measure the amount. They were pretty big portions - and I'm going to try to see if my boyfriend has an idea of the measurement of it - since he's the one that cooked it.

There have certainly been some that I would find particularly difficult and I wouldnt want you to not realise that you were committed to doing an unknown task.

Your team has done very well in this challenge. Certainly on one week you came first. Had there not been a minor time calculation error I suspect that you would have come first again last week.

I hate to mention it - but a couple of weeks ago (26th March - page 5 of this thread) I alerted your team to a potential time calculation error in your thread. I have been kicking myself for not spotting this one for you all:

Mom2 - Is that 815 or 817 at the end. I dont want your team to lose out on points based on a 2 minute typo.

I have tried to be nothing but supportive of your team.
I hope that you find similar levels of support from other opponents in the future.

Good evening :)

Nicole and Lori, I have my beans confirmed! I am excited to eat them! :)

Nicole, I am proud of you trying to get 1/3rd! Really! You are absolutely right that we were glumy partly because our Blondi motivator was absent. However I don't share your optimism for the outcome of this week. I have good drop today but I am still 2 pounds more than last week. I have launched plan "B" and we can now hope for the best.

Lori, you did the bull?!? Noooo! Haha, that makes me laugh! Have you counted it towards the exercises? Hehehe! :)
Thank you for the motivational post. I love those as well very much!
By the way Lori, don't get upset over what Omega (Margaret) said. She just tried to help and she is a very punctual, savvy player and wants the best for us. This is a little silly misunderstanding, I am sure all is cool now.

Girls, tell me your total minutes at the end of Wednesday (tomorrow). If I see there is significant shortage I will push myself on the last day.

Well I will be deffo a weak point this week in terms of weight. :ack2:

ah ladies not to worry not to worry, we are all friends here & supporting one another :Angel_anim:!

Omega-it does not matter if you had or hadnt caught the error as the calcs we were doing were based just on Wulsk and myself's time at the end of the week last week, Lori added her time in thursday night so it would have been to late to change. That is ok, we are still in the game and have learned our lesson but thanks for watching our backs!

Yu & Lori -thanks ladies for upping the excercise this week to make up for me, I am trying but I am short right now leaving me LOTS to do wed/thur. I did my last med this am so I am already feeling MUCH better and doc report was good. So today I did a 30min walk before my appointment and this evening I did a 45min jog/walk with the dogs. So that puts me at 75+30+75 I believe, will have to double check my diary. Thus I only have 180 so far and boohoo hubby will be out of town thur/fri (I forgot it was this week) so that will definately be a challenge! I am going to try and wlk for 15min a day at work and hopefully get to the gym wed/thur as well, if I can fit a walk in with Lillian and dogs before dinner then I *may* get in my 1/3rd I am trying my best. On the bright side my weight is looking promising today, I know some is from the being sick and will come back but still I think I will do well this week.

Oh, almost forgot, I had also bought my beans and they are soaking, no worries, looks like we will both enjoy it. Yu, you worked so hard to find them I think you should get credit for doing it!
Keep up the good work

Margaret - thanks for trying to help out - I apologize for taking your comment the wrong way. I am a very competitive person, and I'll do whatever I need to do, if feasible, for my team. So, I apologize again.

Girls - you are starting to sound much better! :sifone: Yesterday, I got in 65 min before I went to work, and then two 15 min walks on my breaks. Total of 80 min for the day.

I got one of the girls at work to walk with me - so its nice to have someone to chat with. The walks really help out too - wakes me up and gets the blood flowing!

I don't know why, but I haven't seen any kind of loss yet this week - don't know if I'm retaining water or what, but I have been making sure that I'm drinking a lot of it at work to try to get that retention down.

Well, I have to be in a little earlier today - so I will have to do my exercises tonight. The dogs will be happy because they get a walk out of it!

And our Wednesday motivation...

There are some events that you can influence by making intelligent choices and by taking decisive action. There are other events and situations that are completely out of your control.

You have what it takes to successfully deal with both. There's no need to worry endlessly about what the future will bring, for it always brings you new opportunities to make a positive difference.

You can do your very best with those situations that are under your control. And you can adapt and adjust to those situations over which you have little or no influence.

The foolish actions of others can leave you hopelessly frustrated if you allow them to do so. Keep in mind, however, that there's nothing to be gained by working yourself into a knot of frustration and resentment.

Instead, accept whatever comes your way and commit yourself to finding the value in it and making the best of it. With a positive, generous sense of purpose, there's no limit to what you can achieve, even when conditions are less than ideal.

Greet each new day and each new turn of events with confidence and enthusiasm. And you'll emerge a winner no matter what.

-- Ralph Marston

Have a fantastic day! :coolgleamA:

Exercise: 335 min total for the week

Girls, quick check in from me.

1. I am super tired.
2. I ate the beans - I followed the recipe and I ended up with a HUGE POT!
3. It was very yummy buy my belly expended
4. I expect a gain tomorrow and I am sure we will be eleminated due to my probable 6 pound gain. Please don't hate me.
5. I doubled my exercises today for a total of 353 min

P.S. Lori, you look amazing - the new hair is top class and very elegant! You are a very beautiful girl!

Hey Red Ladies!! I'm glad you're all feeling better now.

Yu--I don't recommend eating the whole pot in one day!! I did it over 3 days and was super super gassy--and feeling REALLY full like you. That feeling is mostly water and gas--as it's very fiberous. Drink extra water, get in some cardio, and you'll feel better in time for weigh in. Just watch your calories closely the next day. I felt terrible last night from all the gas/bloating, but feel great today. :)

Ahhhh! Were we supposed to eat the WHOLE POT, I forgot that. Well I can eat it for lunch tomorrow and dinner but I suppose I dont need to since Yulianna ate it all today! I made extra but I would still need to eat about 3/5 of what I made--yikes! I too am very full tonight and not partaking in a snack tonight.

I did well today, I was thinking of you gals so I pushed myself to excercise as much as I coudl, tomorrow iwll be a real challenge since I cant go to the gym in am :banghead: on account DH being out town for the day, I am very bummed because they are starting a new class tomorrow morning and I really wanted to go!

ok so lets see Yu 353 Lori 335 Nicole 300 so assuming we all added our minutes correctly :svengo: then we have 988 minutes out of 1115 (18hrs35min) minutes needed so tomorrow between the three of us we need AT LEAST 127 minutes if we shoot for at least an hour each then we are sure to be fine LOL.

I know we can do it girls.

ps I have been keeping it a secret but I believe I will have good news to report in the weight loss dept tomorrow so no fears!

ps weight this morning 145 so down 2lbs-yeah. I am not sure if that is a bit artificially low due to being sick but I will use it as long as you know it may be harder for me to 'loose' next week.

Girls, I am so ashamed. It is so hard to write this but I have balooned with 6.2 pounds from last week. No kind of loss from your side will save us from elimination. The only thing I could do was to push myself as much as I could and try to cover our team minutes.

I am sad but I am double more ashamed. :nopity: I will understand if you are pissed off with me.

Margaret has saved you, as the Omega-3 are now the Omega-2..lol. No worries, dear. Unless M makes a miraculous recovery in time for tomorrow..lol. But then my weight is also up, so...:banghead:

first off Yu-I will not be upset at ALL if we get eliminated so long as we tried our best and we did, you work more than hard enough! Dont be worried.

Secondly-what is wrong with Margaret? ok going to check diaries!

PS I have lost 2.5lbs:sifone:, that should help some; still expecting to go back up from post sickness rebound but maybe not. Next week will be my week to increase due to PMS.

Morning girls..not much time this morning, so I have to keep it short and simple!

Got in 65 min and Thursday which takes me to a total of 400 min for the week. I hope that's enough - I wasn't keeping track of how many I needed...I do apologize for that.

Got on the scale this morning and I'm down to 196!!! Very exciting for me.

Yu - no worries...I could never be mad at you!!

We've all worked very hard - and you should be proud of that.

I will check in with you ladies tonight!

Have a Fabulous Friday!!

Oh well, girls you are doing so great. You have respectable losses this week. I am really giving you a tight hand shake for doing so well. Little good news is that I dropped 2 pounds since yesterday - it was clearly the beans bloating. I don't want to speak about the winds I have experienced.

I will not say that I am happy that we stay in the competition because of the Margaret bad luck. Poor thing. :angelsad2:

However I will take this chance and will make the most of it. I have slept today and even if it wasn't for the detour I'd still took a nap as I woke up at 5.30 am.

Total: 60 min

Morning girls! It's the weekend! But, unfortunately I have to work today from 9-1. No biggie though.

Got my exercise in yesterday - two 15 min walks at work and then a 45 min walk with the dogs when I got home..it was so nice out yesterday.

Got my nap in as well and it was AWESOME!

So, total exercise so far - 75 min.

This is our week girls! LET'S DO IT!
:waving:

Lori-hope work wasnt too bad, you are right --- this is our week I need to get on ball, past 24 hours have not been great.

Yu-I hope your bloating is down and you are feelig better, dont be so hard on yourself!

wow girls did you see one team lost 11+lbs OMG no competing with that!

we went for a stroll today so I have 90 minutes in so far this week.

keep up good work

personal minutes: 90

Morning girls! Happy Monday! Where have ya guys been all weekend? I'm used to seein ya on here!

Hope you guys are hangin in there.

I got a little over an hour of exercise in on Saturday - didn't exercise yesterday though...I was just feelin lazy.

I am up a few pounds because I pigged out on Saturday - and I paid for it..got really really sick to my stomach. Lesson learned! :smash:

But I'm off to a good start today. Got a 35 min walk in this morning with the dogs..they were thrilled! Packed my lunch to take to work - Turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread, strawberries, cucumber, celery and some low fat spinach dip.

I ate my breakfast this morning - some cherrios with skim milk. (My new resolution is to eat breakfast come hell or high water!)

So - I'm feeling pretty good about today so far. I work 11-8, and I'm going to do my two 15 min walks on my breaks - so that should put me up to 65 min for the day (may even try to squeeze in an extra one)

Have been taking my nap every day!

So, that's it! Hope you ladies have a fabulous Monday!

Total Exercise so far - 178 min

hey ladies

I did good on excercise, not as good on eating. 90 minutes in today, I did a 40 minute jog plus some walking this morning before work and then 30 minute walk with kiddo and dogs in tow this evening.

Lori-I too overindulged this weekend and had a lapse from journaling! We will overcome.

Yu-I hope you are not down and all thigns are going well.

hey ladies, happy pre-weigh day.

I am hoping to run my 1/2 mile tonight I was supposed to this morning but we had a snafu last night and I did not get up early enough to run. It should be no problem though even if I procrastinate as to the end my road is 1/2mile I can just do it thur night!

*me thinks* my scale is posessed every time I admit hmm I have gained as it 'stays on' for a few days then bammo its back, I have been up 2.5lbs all week and so I was thinking thats what I got for eating badly this weekend and was thinking I had to be super good today for pre-weigh and then bammo today its back down to last weeks. LOL Altough I am expecting my PMS gain any day now so hopefully it holds off one more day. I dont expect a loss this week though.

hope you all have a good day

another 60 minutes yesterday

total minutes as of wed am=275

ok red ladies how are we doing?

Well, no luck here today I woke up with cramps and bloated! To be honest though I ate horribly yesterday as well so I am sure that did not help, I always crave chocolate soo badly 1 day (I know how cliche sounding right?). I am up 1.5lbs and tomorrow will be worse.

ok I am pulling out the big guns for this week, anti-inflammatory whole foods way of eating, you will be seeing veggies, fruits, meats, nuts and no processed junk which will serve to break the horrid sweet tooth I have been having and get a good loss on our last week, I just know we will make it through cuts this week so long as we have our excercise. Oh and ps I have 310 out of my 1/3 (389) minutes but I will get them in!

Yu-worried, hoping you are ok, you NEVER stay away this long.

Lori-hope all is well and you are getting your schedule for work all down pat.

Morning girls - how was your week?

I got my nap in every day this week - and I weighed myself this morning only to see that I weigh the same exact weight as I did last week....grrr.

I know that its a mix between water retention and pms. :banghead:

Yu - I hope you're ok chickie! It's not like you to go missing all week!

If we don't get eliminated, I am excited about the brussel sprouts. My boyfriend does a great job at cooking them...his are the only kind I like. :drool5:

I feel bad that I haven't been updating my exercise progress all week - but I have been keeping track so I will just post my final number on my stats.

I hope you guys are doing well...have a great Friday!
