Weight-Loss The Amazing Race Challenge Legacy Red Ladies Team

Weight-Loss
Hello girls, I hope you had a very good Easter day!

I managed to get all my excercises but of course the eating wasn't a good one. :ack2:

Lori, good luck with the bran cornflakes. I know they are one of the best breakfasts possible but unfortunately I don't like them. I find that the taste is like the one of something taken out of the garbage bin lol.

Wulsk, you are too funny about your dislike of bran cornflakes...

Lori--I have discovered Fiber One cereal by Kellogg. One 1/2 cup of the regular Fiber One cereal (there are 3 kinds) has 14g of fiber and only 60 calories. :hurray: That is an incredibly lo-cal way to get in tons of fiber--and you should be able to find it at most supermarkets. I stock up when it goes on sale. :)

Yeah, the woman that I met warned me that they weren't going to taste very good. And I have had the Fiber One Cereal bars that were pretty good...but I'm probably gonna have to doctor up the All Bran with some Strawberries and Splenda or something.

My mom ordered it off of Amazon for us..so it should be here by Friday - I'll let ya guys know how that goes..lol.

Back to the office today for my third and final week of training :willy_nilly: THANK GOD! I just wanna get in and get going...training always is a big exercise for the mind!

I had set my alarm for 4am this morning in hopes of getting up early to exercise or at least walk the dogs..but unfortunately, I slept until 5...which means I'll just have to do it after work.

Well, I hope you guys have a wonderful day!

hiya ladies!

Well I did not want to let you down so I have been working hard! (I didnt want to let me down either)

I got in 120minutes today! I didnt even realize it worked out even until I entered into sparks site. I did 45 minute at gym (ran very hard 3 miles and then walk etc) then I walked at work on my breaks 12 min then 13 min next time then I took dogs for a walk tonight with baby and my sister (hard work pushign storller through snow!) for 50 minutes. So that leaves me with only needing 103 but I plan to do more, hopefully.

I ate pretty good today, I had a negative calorie total in sparks so that is good (first time since I started tracking 4 days).

Lori-I like the healhty cereals, a dab of fruit and some splenda will make anythign palatable! HOope training breezes by, it only gets better once its done.

Wulsk-dont you worry we will do great this week and I bet you will see that day of eating did not set you back much at all!

Well looks like we are all on track here girls, we are rockin,

ps finished the salmon

nightie night

well I have rather bad news, mother nature :reddevil: has decided to visit early this month and my weight is up to 155 this morning which is +4lbs . Very not happy about this but its a part of life (unfortunately). I will try very hard to stay on track and not let my :grouphug: down! I am notorious for bad eating around this time. I was so excited to hop on scale this mornig after all my walking yesterday too!

Lori-with Wulsk and I 'coiciding' in one week you better not coiciide with us or we're sunk for sure LOL!

hope everyone is doing well

---this explains why I was so tired sunday/mondy!

Aww, no worries about Aunt Flo! Just make sure you drink lots of water each day..that always helps me with the water retention. And stay away from salty foods.

I did good yesterday - got in an hour and 45 min. which was more than I expected and boy am I sore today. The tapes that I do are a mix of low and high energy cardio with weights. So my muscles are sore.

Mom - I like the idea about walking on breaks...I can't believe I haven't thought of that sooner. I usually go out to smoke :sifone: which is why the thought probably didn't enter my mind.

Good job on the salmon! I hope that next week's detour is something I can do for the team..I feel bad that you guys have had to do both extras.

Yesterday turned out to be a pretty good day at work..my boss threw me right on the phones. I was nervous at first, but after lunch, I had a little pep talk with myself and ended up getting two appointments set for my first week. My boss was very impressed. :hurray:

I have been trying to get extra water in to avoid any water weight gain and watching my calories.

Have a great day ladies!

My exercise so far for the week is 2:45...no worries though...I plan on getting the rest I need in the next three days. :waving:

Hi team,

I am sorry I missed to report last night. I will be short as I am going to do lots of things today. I did get my exercises yesterday but the 2nd day of holiday eating damaged my weight. I know from experience that this will go away quickly - the question is if it will be quick enough for the Friday weigh in. I am in a stress a bit. My plan includes 1 hour extra walk and 1 litre extra water. I also noticed it is very hard to exercise with junk in the stomach. :ack2:

I hope each of the other teams also have holiday weight problems lol.

And you are doing great, my ladies, stay focused!

I am off now to fight the weight.

TOTAL SO FAR: 03:26:11

Quick update...

I have been strict. All exercises done. The walk was doubled! 2.5 litres of water drank. I am expecting a huge chunk of the Easter weight to be gone tomorrow but since it is also my pre TOM time I rather be realistic.

TOTAL SO FAR: 04:25:10

Status Update: Need 18hrs50min
Wulsk-4:25:10
Lori---2:45:00
Mom2-4:47:00
Total--11:17:10

I saw an idea on one other threads, they put down the minutes needed so this week is 1130 then each post you put that at the bottom so

my post would say 677/1130

then the next one after this you just look at 677 and add say 23 minutes that you did so you put 700/1130 at the bottom of your post. Maybe this is just me but it helps me see where we are at and motivates me.

well girls I will be wokring from home next 2 weeks which is a challenge for me because of less activity and easy access to food any time, this will be a challenge but I am goig to try and stick to doing sparks and listing calories each day.

nightie night

Hi chickies! Had a very busy day yesterday - but I did manage to get an hour and 38 min it of exercise...so that puts me up to 4 hrs and 23 min.

Mom - that 1130..is that a total for all three of us or individually? I was just a little confused on that..blame it on too much info at work and it being too early for me to comprehend..lol.

I have been drinking my water each day - and its funny because all of the new girls at work tell me what a great job I do with that - and how dedicated I am. (I'm always walking around with my water bottle) So, it is very encouraging.

I work 10:30 - 7:30 today so I'm gonna get my exercise in this morning before I go to work.

Have a fabulous day girls!

Ok so if we need 18hrs 50min=1130 minutes for the team

Wulsk-4:25:10=265min10sec
Lori---4:23:00=263min
Mom2-4:47:00=287min
Total---------=815min total for the team

so at the bottom of my post I would list
815/1130
since I have not done my excercise yet for the day (its only 7am) but if I had done say 60 minutes of excercise then I would list 877/1130

if Wulsk posted after me then she would list her time as say 100 minutes and she would list at the bottom 977/1300

etc and it goes from there

We should definately still keep tabs on our own to make sure there is no mistakes and to add it in to our profile on friday but that way we see how close we are getting again, no big deal if you dont want to do it.

ok ladies have a good day!

817/1130

Mom2 - Is that 815 or 817 at the end. I dont want your team to lose out on points based on a 2 minute typo.

Omega-ooh I'm telling you posted on our thread...tehehe just kidding stop by any time. It is 815 so near as I can tell, you perhaps read it before I edited it, I posted, re-read and I had put 3 numbers in wrong off my sheet. It wont matter since we track each of our times separate and log that number but I GREATLY appreciate it. HOpe your team is going well.

hi ladies just bored here and checking in, first day hoem from work and the little one is also home vomiting and with #2 issues, ugh how I hate cleaning up bodily fluids! Well I sure hope I dont get this (but it might help offset PMS gain ok kidding kidding kiddding).

.....
so at the bottom of my post I would list
815/1130
.......
.......
ok ladies have a good day!

817/1130

mom2 - the bottom line of the whole posting still has what looks to be a typo. I would hate it to put anyone off as I know that Wulsk times everything to the second. Our team is trying our best - our weights were always going to be a problem since we all get our TOM at much the same time. Add in my skewed weightloss and you can imagine it! Sorry to hear of the illness at home. I hope that there is a speedy recovery.

Oh, I see everyone is focused as always. Shame on me. I have lost some weight but not as much as I wanted. I was sooooo nervous and snappy this morning! :banghead: I can't accept the idea that I might become the reason our team to leave the competition this week. The harsh truth is that I am 2.9 pounds more than last week's result! TOM is due anytime so my body doesn't respond to anything now. HORRRORRR!!!!!!

Anyway I did my planned workout. I had 2.5 litres of water. I did my walk.... twice. :banghead: All I can do now is to pray...

Mom, I am sorry for your little one. It must be very painful for a mother to see this. Poor little thing! I certainly like the idea of keeping a rolling update of our minutes. I did 52 min today. I am sorry for my weired seconds but I am a maniac. I will NOT count them in the thread but I will still report them at the report sheet.

867/1130

And I see that our old good teammate Margaret is playing with one leg for our team! I knew it. I got the calculations right now. wink wink :)

Wulsk-good job, you are doing excellent, dont worry about it--we just do the best we can. Thanks for getting the total all straightened out.

I fear to say poor baby is getting worse as day goes on, we may be making a trip to the doctors. Being home wiht her I could not go to gym, I hoped to take a walk when she fell asleep but she is unable to sleep so I have gotten in NO excercise and still need I think 105 minutes, getting worried. I will do my best tomorrow. My problem is I am home with a medical issue for the next two weeks and my husband is working on a big project (the last week of it) and is putting in long days (hes still working and its 9pm here) so I cant just leave for a bit. I am being really good with watching my calories which is hard being at home all day normally I would snack all day. I have to finish log in sparks but I think I am under today--yeah! This morning I was 'only' 1.5lbs up from last week which is amazing considering I normally gain 4-6lbs pms.

Lori-hanging in there?

ahhhh, you know how they say there is 'calorie amnesia' where you forget what you ate? I entered my totals for 1/2 day into sparks earlier and I thought I was doing so good, I just found the other paper I wrote down my food on and I forgot the largest calorie item all day! Darn Darn Darn, now I am 'over' by 250 calories.

Wulsk-my BMR is supposedly 1500 then I add 300 in for breastfeeding, right now I am trying ot be conscientious of my food intake but not setting a limit just making sure I get at least 1800 then I figured excercise would be bringing it down. I have been getting in around 2000 each day so I figure if I still loose weight I am doing good. For now I am just tracking how much I take in and how much I loose I just calculated out 1800 for an idea I have not tried ot stick to that yet, I want to see what the lbs will do first just on my typical amount I eat. I DO NOT like to restrict my quantity, you are so good, I do not like to be hungry LOL, so this is just to get a baseline I guess.

statistically the odds are slim but lets hope its a non-elimination week or one of the teams doesnt report. Assuming we are still in the game I just wanted to say that I LOVE LOVE kiwi fruit so I would be happy to do the challenge. On the other hand Lori if you want to do it they are usually 3/4 kiwis for $1.

Update: I almost forgot to weigh in so now that I know I am ot positive 4lbs perhaps we will be ok regarding abov statement--I dont really belive its a true weight but today says I am down to 151 which is I believe down 0.5lbs so yeah, I will take it and enter it in, this is very surprising since I am still PMS but its thursday so it counts and I'll take it. Now I am going to do my best to get in that 1hr45min walking even if its in circles around the hospital waiting for our appoitnment!

Week 4! I hope we will continue even if we come last this week! :hurray:

Week 4—Vancouver to Auckland 18hrs 5min. 6hr2min if divided 3 ways.
Therefore, as cliché as it is, this week’s Detour is to either 1. Eat a kiwi fruit everyday or 2. Eat 8oz of lamb over the course of the week. Each team member must complete one of the detours.

OK, week 3 is over for me. I am down in weight today but still I will have to report a gain... :ack2: ...unless some miracle occurs tomorrow morning. Anyway I am updating my data tonight. Any imporvements tomorrow are welcome. I did double walk, almost 2 hours workout and I drank my 2.5 litres of water before 3 pm so I have a super empty bladder for tomorrow morning weigh in.

I have also had 520 grams of salmon this week. This is its raw weight but I believe it is enough to cover the requirement of 1 pound/half kilo even cooked. It doesn't metter really since I am not in charge this week for the roadblock. :)

There is an uncertainty whether we will get all our exercises this week. All is good anyway and I hope we will continue no matter what!

I am eating kiwi and lamb next week :)
