Weight-Loss Team 1 Chat Thread

Weight-Loss
Yesturday I had a great eating day, was proud of myself and ate well and managed 2 meals, lol...Im gonna work on gettin in 3 meals a day, i honestly dont think i eat enough...maybe it will help me out...or try to eat at least 2 meals a day...usually i snack and eat dinner...

I think im gonna give up boot camp as it stresses my body so much and i see no results in weight loss anyway, im on the fence with this one...i was doing great loosinf consistantly till i restated boot cmap...so i dunno, im gonna think abt it a bit...

I can get so much more done without boot cmap thrown in there...
in general not just exercise...

So im workin on at least 2 meals a day and at least 2 liters of water a day...and as much exercise as i can manage...

Oh and I can play tennis again:) I dunno if my tennis buddy will be ready it is still a little chilly but no more snow, finally and no more freezing at the moment:)

I love tennis, i can play like 2 - 3 hrs at a time and love using the back board and i tis activity i havent done for awhile...

Great job Relly! You DO need to eat more meals or more often. You just can't fuel yourself through the day with only two meals. Have you ever tried changing it up with how many meals and how often you eat? I know 3 meals a day works for some people and 5/day work for the others. Maybe try upping it to 3-4 meals and keep a journal on how you feel throughout the day. I think you will find that you are much more energetic. I'm already hyperactive but I can really tell if I skip a meal, my energy levels go down. I find I feel more like sitting and watching my daughter play rather than getting down in the floor and participating. Plus you are much more liable to cheat or binge since you are tend to get ravenous on only a couple of meals.

Two hours of tennis?!?! OUCH! That is an intense sport and gives you one hell of a workout! I can't play long due to my knees, but used to love it.

As for the bootcamp, do what you feel is best for YOU. DO you think you may be gaining muscle? Maybe that's why the weight loss is less. I initially gained 6lbs when I started back with weight training after the pregnancy but I lost inches. It's different for everyone.

Have a great day and try to get another meal in!

Yo everybody!

I am feeling much better today. I am retaining fluid like crazy and still have a cold but the frustration and weird food cravings are gone. I don't feel great and I feel sooooo fat due to the water weight, but oh well that's what comes with being a chick.

When I started back to college last month, I was informed that it is required that you take a health and fitness class. They didn't require this the last time I was in school! So basically I am having to take a PE class with a bunch of 18 year olds. Of course, they think I'm ANCIENT even though I'm only in my late 20's. LOL! Anyways, today we have to either briskly walk a mile or run 1.5 miles. When I stated on monday to the instructor that I'd be running, the entire class looked at me like I was crazy! What?!?! They don't think an "old" lady with an extra 30lbs can run?!?! You just wait til I smoke their young asses in class today!! Hah!!

I'm finding I'm having a bunch of energy on 3 meals a day, but I'm eating around 30% protein and only 30% carbs so maybe that is also helping keep my energy up. I'm noticing some people just dont metabolize carbs that well, even whole grains, if carbs are the staple of the diet.

Glad you're feeling better. Can't wait to hear their reactions when you show em what being in shape is REALLY all about! LOL

Wow this thread is so full of emotion, excitement and support! We should totally have our own reality series :p... I LOVE this team! And we are doing so well... no doubt in my mind it has a lot to do with the support here :grouphug:

I had an interesting conversation with my H last night... I dont even remeber how it started but he mentioned concern about me not eating enough... he jokingly teased my food diary saying theres like 1 baby carrot half a celery stick lol (obviously thats not true) but I eat things based on their serving size for the most part and apparently that doesnt look like enough... I just kind of looked at him with a funny look and was like excuse me mr snacks, with your bags of chips chocolate bars, and take out constantly on hand. I eat just fine, I'm never hungry and i eat just about all day long, just healthy things in the right portion sizes... and got a reply of "i know i just worry, sometimes people let it get out of hand"... it's sweet that he cares but I felt like an addict in an intervention even though i know theres nothing wrong lol... it's just weird when even our own husband assumes that if your not over eating and your losing weight you must be starving youself... even as he watches me eating a chocolate bar lol (which aparently I may have starved myself all day so i would be able to eat) sigh... if only he had the same concern with the number of clothes I have... I could always use more clothes lol

Hey Amy:)

Honestly Im never hungry, even with all my activity and exercise it is rare for me to be hungry...(I work nights)

Yesturday I ate a salmon salad
some popcorn/butter
a few snap peas
1/2 cup of rice and some pork stir fry

a muffin at work around like 130am.

I actually had something that resembled two meals yesturday that is pretty typical for me

As for bootcamp, I cant do as much as i was doing, im afraid of rdoing to much and hurting myself like i did the first week back to bootcamp and i just feel more ackomplished beign able to get more in ya know.

I felt my life was balancing before boot cmap now i dont feel tha tbalance..

Plus i miss working out at work and it helps me with my energy and i feel it is too much strain on top of boot camp cuz boot cmap is brutual this time around...LOL and im sore for 3 days afterwards which makes everyhting else harder...

I wanna focus on learning to run and i wanna go to my sun clini walks twice a week and i cant fit anything else in with boot cmap...

Im a sinlge mom to two and i only have so much time i can allow
ya know...

I need to stop by your diary...it has been awhile...:hug2:Im sorry for how you have been feeling lately:hug2:Happy your feeling better:)

That's so sweet that he's concerned. My H is the same way. He also thinks I work out too hard. Hah! I just call him a wimp and continue on my merry way to the gym.

Good job on the healthy eating. Maybe the H will learn a few things. Just because one is thin with a high metabolism doesn't mean they don't have to put healthy stuff into their body!

Relly, I would definitely drop the bootcamp if that's how you feel. Maybe you'll be into it in the future, but dont feel bad about dropping it now. As long as you're still getting exercise, its all good in the hood. Its also important to spend time with the girlies, that is of primo importance actually so dont feel bad. Plus, if you're not feeling GOOD from the bootcamp then maybe its not for you at this time. DO YOU WOMAN!

P.S. You are so FUCKIN LUCKY that you rarely get hungry. Lucky lucky lucky!!! I am constantly feeling hungry it seems.. Right now I'm pushing my hunger for another hour as I'm eating around 9am, 2pm and 7pm. Supposedly right now my body is burning fat since its already burned all my food from this morning. LOL this theory is probably such a load of BS but its really my only hope since I already tried straight-up calorie counting with no good results (just a lot of hunger but no weight loss GRRRRR). I know, I look like a total idiot even hoping this Leptin Diet will be of help.

Your not an idiot Claud...

We are alot alike it seems weight loss wise, it is a bloodly miracle when we move the scale...it takes alot for us to move it too...

Nothing wrong with trying things out and giving them a go, just dont deprevive yourself:)

I was interested in on of the diet plans out this way but it is the same general idea, you only eat 3 times a day no snacking and are limited on everyhting else you can have through the day, i belive if you are hungry between meals you drink herbal tea...

Months ago it wasnt an option bu tnow im just never hingry been this way since abt Nov...def Nov for sure, once i starteed boot camp was never hungry...which in theory should be opposite...

At least we are still her Claud and still trying:)Mean we want it...just gotta figure out how to get it!!!

ka im off to bed ladies:)

You know, I am always hearing about how uncommon it is for people like us to work our asses off, eat well and still not lose weight. You hear about these controlled studies, about friends of friends, and of course famous people who drop the weight like it hot. It's shit like this that make other people believe we are not working hard enough or eating right. I think the reason there are so many of us on this forum is that we have an issue that we are trying to resolve and we FOUND EACH OTHER because of this. We all have had to deal with people in our lives, and on this forum even, that doubt our hard work, our claims of such hard work and eating habits, and so on. Well WE KNOW what we are dealing with. Claud and I have been on this forum for almost 2 1/2 years dealing with these problems and neither of us doubt each other's hard work. HERE we find understanding (for the most part), compassion, encouragement, and acceptance. It will be people like us that find the real answer, because we don't let others discourage us. We know from personal experience that there is no true quick-fix, answer, or diet that will work for each and every person. It's people like us that truly make a difference rather than sit upon our soap box and regurgitate text from books and magazines on how a person should eat, exercise, and live. We develop this knowledge from experience. From this experience we can change lives.

Okay, I'm done venting.

Aww guys... :(
I know you'll get it all figured out one day...
Makes me feel bad complaining about it being so hard to lose weight when I really just wasnt doing what I needed to. then complaining i'm only losing half a pound or a pound at a time... and here you guys are working your butts off and often feeling like you have nothing to show for it :(
If I could I would totally share my pound a week with you guys

That is very kind of you mama. And sometimes I feel like a bitch complaining about my size when I know people are starting off with a lot more to lose. I personally am ALWAYS pleased to see people losing the flab..especially when they're ON MY TEAM!

P.S. I lost a bit less than a pound a week, religiously, for about 1 year so I know the good feelings associated with the scale going down. More power to ya!

Well my knee is feeling slightly better, pilates this morning didn't feel too great on it, but I was able to do some stuff at the gym (just stayed away from my leg weights), but now it's a stomach flu that's taking me down. I feel ick and nauseous constantlyyyy. I think most of it is a mental thing and I'm not going to let it get to me.

So today I got in an hour of pilates, 35 mins bike, 20 mins weights, and 25 mins elliptical.

Hey teamies!!

Saw 136.7 on the scale today... Haven't ever seen below 137 so I think things are finally looking up.

So far today my cals and macros are on target!

Lets just hope this loss isnt too little too late!!

Way to go MissDFITT!!! That is awesome!

Mo2, thanks so much for being willing to share your losses. You're too sweet!

Congrats congrats congrats on the loss!!!
