Weight-Loss Tea Talk

Weight-Loss
I'm sorry hun. I wrote that at 2am and I guess I was a bit out of it and didn't check to see if any Teavana stores were available internationally. :(

I'm glad you found something though. Raspberry teas are yummy. I used to have one called 'Raspberry Black'. I liked it but it was a bit drying. I kept buying it anyway because I liked the taste and eventually got used to the drying which didn't seem bad after a while.

Don't worry about it, I think we all do that sort of thing from time to time. Especially at that time of night.

I've bought a few others as well, so I have other things to try. They're cheaper than Twinings herbal/ fruit (which is a good flavour but can be a bit anaemic) and come in varieties you can't get as easily with Twinings (or if you can you pay much more for). I also bought (all M&S) strawberry and raspberry infusion (this may end up being anaemic), rooicos and vanilla infusion, and cranberry and elderflower infusion. On a whim when I had to run out and get last minute ingredients for dinner, I also bought a "sleep" tea (if nothing else it might help me set up a night time routine and get more sleep, if it's not completely vile. I paid that price, although not from that store)

^ Sleep tea worked well (at least as part of my night time routine). I haven't gotten off to sleep that long, or slept that heavily, in forever. Really pleased. (Tasted like lavender. Has other stuff in it too, but just tastes like lavender to me)

Just trying M&S Roobios and Vanilla. I like it a lot. Not sure where one ends and the other begins, because they're quite complementary flavours. Also has a small kick to it even though it's caffeine free, which is good.

Pukka Tea Night. I've written it down. I haven't slept well in a while.

Soon, I'm going to harvest some of the lemongrass I'm growing and make tea over the weekend.

I've had my eye on a peach rooibos for some time MUHAHAHAHAHA. I already have my plan of attack!!! MUHAHAHHAHA :flame:

I agree with the above phrase.

I found my organic honey that I lost in the clutter of my cabinets and I'm looking to use it in the next brew. But it has a really sweet taste... we'll see how this goes ^_^

**Chandra Chai**

12 (+) silver dollar-sized pieces fresh ginger (to your taste) 4-5 sticks cinnamon, broken into little pieces 1 Tblspn (T.) plus 1 tspn (t.) plus 1/2 t. green cardamom pods 2 t. plus 1/4 t. black peppercorns

1 t. whole cloves
1/2 t. fennel seeds
1/2 t. licorice root
1/2 t. allspice berries
1 vanilla bean (optional)
5 cups water
3 T. honey
soy milk or cow milk

Combine all ingredients, excepting the honey and milk, with cold water in a pot. Cover snugly! Simmer over a medium-low flame for 50 minutes. Remove from heat, but let sit, covered, for another 40-50 minutes. Filter the dreamy concoction into a suitable container. Stir in the honey and add enough milk to taste.

It is always more pleasant to savor this delectable brew in some luscious, ambient place. Light a bit o' nag champa, let its smoky tendrils curl about, and wander into waking dreamland....

I've been enjoying Chamomile mixed with Samurai Chai lately. I think it's because it makes me feel so relaxed. ^_^

I think the sleep tea is really becoming part of my night time routine. It's not enough on its own, but even just smelling the box makes me feel a little bit drowsy now (I have to hide it so I don't smell it before I intend to!).

The fact that none of my new teas have calorie listings on them bugs me though. I know they can't be that bad, but I count spices and water for heaven's sake.

I usually just consider all of my fruit teas either 2 or 5 calories each. But I count them as water anyway ^_^

Thanks :) I'll start counting them again, I wasn't sure (and even checked out the legislation, which simply says that nutritional labelling isn't compulsory in the UK :cuss: )

I've finally found a way to make my darjeeling tea not taste incredibly anaemic. Add almost no milk to it (17ml milk to 304ml tea)

Have you ever had a tea where the flavours sort of separate? I'm drinking (and loving) white tea and raspberry at the moment, but when I make it the raspberry sort of sinks to the bottom, leaving something barely coloured on top and bright red at the bottom. It's ok when I stir it (the teabag doesn't have a string attached), and it doesn't change the flavour (at least after I stir it), it's just... weird. Hence wondering if this was unusual.

lol
That happens to me when I make strawberry white tea. Since I usually use a glass tea cup it's so pretty to see the ruby bottom swirling under the crystal top. It's so elegant looking isn't it?

When I mix it I miss it ^_^

Amy when you mentioned adding milk to Darjeeling I remembered something I've been wanting to try. Milk Tea.

I just made Milk Tea for the first time.
I have to admit, I first heard of this while playing a video game (LOL) called Harvest Moon a few years ago.
Anyway, my character would bring milk to a boil and then steep tea leaves in it instead of water.

I'm sure I'm one of the only people who lived clueless to this ^_^ But I finally made it tonight!

I used Almond Breeze Milk with a Tazo Refresh (it's Peppermint) tea bag.

I love it. I felt like a baby having a bottle of milk before bed lol ^_^

This is something I will do several times a week.

Went to the dentist early this morning. They gave me a goodie bag and in it was a pretty and solid royal blue tea mug ^_^ ...Loyal customer for life lol

I've had bubble tea at a Vietnamese New Year celebration about 8 years ago. (I had a great time and felt so welcomed by everybody). I didn't like Bubble Tea too much but I'd be willing to try it again. It was my fault though for thinking that the tapioca pears were frog eggs... I'm so stupid lol. (I had never had tapioca before in my life so I was completely clueless to what the balls were)

Bubble Tea is different from Milk Tea though which I love.

By they way... Green Apple Green Tea with Grape Jelly sounds sooooo amazingly good!

Strange how a teapot can represent
at the same time the comforts of solitude
and the pleasures of company.
