Hi everyone, Q tipped me off on this thread, so here i am.
Brief introduction:
I'm from the Netherlands (this is the point where I patiently wait for the cheers and applause to die down, eventually
).
Been working on my weight since feb 2010, lost 70 pounds.
Took up running last year, somewhere in may, it must have been.
Started out with a couch to 5k program.
After I had done that, I built my distance to 10 k, then 15 k which was about the most I felt comfortable with at the end of 2013.
Despite not taking it too far too fast I suffered an injury at the end of 2013: runner's knee. Took me a good month to recover from that, and started 2014 with less running miles than I hoped.
But I'm bakc on track, and 2014 is the year of achieving goals for me.
First accomplished goal of 2014: ran my first half marathon, two weeks ago.
Up next: the marathon in Berlin in September. My training for the marathon starts this weekend, can't wait
Hope to share a lot of great running achievements with all of you here, and help keep each other motivated to keep on running.
Cheers!
