Sounds like a lovely walk - at least one way :p Having a rest day to make up for it sounds like a good idea tough.

Just a quick dip onto the forum before bed to log my day. Was ott on calories I think, especially from what I have been used to, but it was a party and it isn't a regular thing, so... meh.

Managed to get just shy of 11k of steps in though today. way more than i was expecting

That sounds like my kind of walk, Stan! I like to plug an audio book in and just keep on strolling.

Which part of takeaways are you craving? The convenience? The salt? The grease? The belly hug quality? Sometimes when you pick apart a craving you find something at its core you can actually satisfy in a healthy way.

I think it's partly smells to be honest. Late afternoons at work you can smell the local restaurants and takeaways cooking up their produce. There's both a chinese and an indian in close proximity, plus two pizza places. Then on the drive home there are two good ol' fashioned british fish and chip shops right opposite each other. The smell is heavenly! lol. I presume it's a combination of these planting subliminal messages in my mind
 
Sounds like logic. Maybe you can make something at home on a day you have an hour of cooking time? Home-made means you know what goes into your food and that usually means healthier stuff goes in. Some examples. (Should be a playlist: some are simple, some are harder).
 
Your steps have increased 76% in the past month - that is awesome work, my friend! :) I am still struggling to reach 10K. Even walking the dog doesn't get me that. Guess I need to walk her longer. Probably good for both of us! Hope you have a great day!

Jokes aside, that's hard to ignore temptation like that. Especially when it's assaulting your senses with such delicious aromas. Every time you chose not to give in, it'll get a very tiny bit easier next time though. You can fight it!

I reckon my 76% increase is a bit of a fraud lol. I'm thinking I was just super lazy last month! But thank you :D I have really tried hard to get moving and it's a good feeling to see the impressive looking stats

Confession time; I had a chinese at lunchtime today. Boiled rice and chicken curry. It wasn't that bad, right? It's quelled my need anyway.

Managed 12k steps today. Unfortunately I was in the office all day so only managed 4k of steps while at work. That meant I had to go out for a walk this evening and today was not a pleasant evening weather-wise. We've got weather warnings in place over half the country so I got soaked and battered by the rain and wind but hey, I got the steps in lol

Grave news though, I am definitely coming down with what could be a bad case of man-flu. The snuffles are in, I've got a headache brewing and my throat has that pre-illness feeling in it. Got a presentation on Monday that I so don't want to be ill for :(

Having a moderate portion of take-out once every two weeks or so is better than collecting craving until you explode and stuff yourself with the entire menu. What I usually do is split the portion in two and bulk both of them with dry-fried veggies. Takes very little time, you get two batches of goodness and you don´t have to feel guilty :p Best of luck with the sniffles.

Thanks all - weather was much better behaved today so at least I'm dry haha! Stopped at the shops to buy lots of drugs to get me through the manflu so fingers crossed I survive. Cate, that song is just awesome lol :D

Got my steps in again today, pleased with that as I had a busy day
