Rebel's Diary

About tofu: it needs a bit of a crust. It's spongy stuff (which means it takes on marinades very well) and I really don't like the texture if it hasn't been cut relatively thinly and fried off a bit. Although tossed in corn starch and deep fried somewhat bigger chunks work well with a dip. Bottom line: check Youtube for recipes instead of treating it like meat and expecting the same effect.
Yea i found tons of recipes

Isn't hummus amazing? Fucking love that shiiiiit. Did you make it yourself? I like Moroccan hummus or pesto hummus best.

No i didnt. The store had 5-6 different types. I looked at a few different recipes. It dosent seem that complicated to make. Mightgive it a try soon.

Your dinner sounds lovely - the lunch is an interesting combination :D If you´d had a bit of breakfast your calories would have been on point, I think!

Everything has been going pretty well. I'm still stressed out about the drama yesterday. Stress and bipolar not a good combination :(
Im not sure about my weight right now. I weigh about every 2-3 weeks. My energy level is going up. My breathing is much better than when i first changed the way im eating.
So over all i think everything is ok.

Nice deficits in the last 4 days lee (as far as I scrolled back)! You are doing great!!

Smart that you only weigh yourself only once every 2-3 weeks, good way to get the signal from the noise. I weigh myself on most days, but I take it with a grain of salt by mentally drawing a trendline. That seems to work for me. But then again, I like numbers and studying things, so if I see a huge spike in my weight, I think "hey that is interesting! what could have caused that" (not "oh no I gained a ton overnight :p").

Great that your energy level is going up and that you also breath easier! It's very good to appreciate and celebrate those improvements as often as you can! I think the more weight you lose, the more the changes become noticable. The first 5 kgs are perhaps hardly visible/noticeable, but the last 5 are a huge difference (and everything in between).

How much progress do you estimate that you have made since starting?

Also: a deficit that might be sustainable when you´re just losing a couple of pounds may be less so when you know you´ll be doing this for months on end. So I´m glad your deficit wasn´t quite so big yesterday. Well done dealing with the stress; that´s a tough one for most of us and I imagine it´s more so for you.

I doubt if I'll keep the calories that high. I picked up some avocados and they have a butt-ton of calories.
Yea i dont handle stress very well. Its a challenge.

I don't handle stress well either Rebel. I try really hard not to take on other's stress, but I am a bit of an emotional sponge. I think it's great that you are working on losing your excess weight. 47 lbs in your first month is awesome. I know it will be a long- term thing & you will need to be determined. We'll be here to support you along the way.
Are you eating much in the way of fruit & veg? Our son has Bipolar & it is very important to him to eat very healthily. He eats lots of veg. When you struggle to eat breakfast perhaps a banana would be a good thing to have. Having cut up fruit & veg in the fridge makes putting together a healthy snack or meal nice & easy. Celery or carrot sticks with a little hummus are delicious.

Ill have to try that. I swear you could put hummus on a cars bumper and make it taste good ;)
