realworksuks vs [Focus] - "LIKE DONKEY KONG, SON!"

Well yeah, apart from your squats. Unless Im converting wrong again.

Tbh, I was lying about those. I just thought it would help me not look like a complete pansy. :(

Training

A1 Box Jump ?x3x8
B1 Speed Full Squat 75x20x
C1 Mod Step-up 50x8/8x3
D1 Deadlift 45x5, 135x3, 185x2, 235x5x5
E1 Crunch 35x8x3

Thoughts

Kinda forgot how to box jump there, initially. It was quite comical.

Is it just me or are deadlifts and squats a lot easier than they should be?

After the crunches, I messed around with cable crunches and some other stuff, and I just can't make myself work with them - doesn't feel like it used to. Cursed adaptive prowess. :/ I'm gonna do side bends until I figure something out.

Also, decided I'm gonna tighten up the diet a bit and stop eating 4200 calories a day, because I feel like I'm getting fat. According to the scale (and it has been accurate thus far), I'm not - it's just that I've put on 10 lbs of lean mass in two weeks(????!?). Droppin' it back down to 2600 like it's supposed to be, and gonna starve like nobody's business, because I'm hungry at 4200/day.

Sick of this "hey guy im just gonna go ahead and get hyoogee k" ****, body. I DON'T WANT TO GET HYOOGE, DAMNIT. I just wanna be lean and strong, you bastard. :cool3:

Training

Biked 21.38 miles (from Shouldice'ish to the Mid-Sun Community Center (starting point of the half-thon I'm signed up for)
Ran 11.37 miles
Biked 21.38 miles (back home)

Total time: 253 minutes

Thoughts

Kinda hard to see where you're going in the dark, when you're too dumb to bring a headlamp or something with you. My mountain bike really sucks.

I'm 80% sure I'm gonna go to bed now and never wake up. So, if this be my last post, I think we all know who to blame.

But, my ****ers, I will not be doing anything dumb like this again. Almost certainly just cost myself my half-thon goal pace. Sorely tempted to say something really funny here, but I won't. :bncry:

Gettin' ma nerd on - Energy Expenditure

Okay, so, for the past 31 days I've had my Garmin running pretty much full time. Using this and TEE numbers from various studies + the two V02 benches I had my buddy do on me, I estimate my caloric expenditure at my current (as of today, haha) activity level to be 6709 calories/day. Now, had I actually been eating the 2600 calories I was supposed to be the last 15 days, that would've put me at a 4000 calorie/day deficit.

Fortunately, I was eating much closer to an average 4200 calories/day and expending about 1100 less than I will be now. However, I appear to have been gaining muscle like a God damn mastodon at what should have been a 1400 calorie/day (or 2.8 lb a week of fat loss) deficit. And based on extrapolation of 3 months of data, actual fat loss was a flat 1.5 lbs a week. So, what I take from this is that functional caloric debit is half of theoretical (and they say there's no such thing as an "efficient" metabolism. Yeah, right. Though I do agree that it is 99.9% excuse and 00.1% truth).

What I take from this is that if I can tighten my belt a bit and sit at a 2600 credit/day as I mean to (and have been, last ~ 4 days), this puts me at a theoretical deficit of 4000 calories/day and a functional of 2000, for a 4 lb loss of fat per week, in place of my previous 1.5. I will maintain this ratio for 2 months (!!!!!) and if I'm not at 5% body fat by mid november... well, I'mma be pissed. :violent2:

:cool2: Was it good for you, bb? It was good for me. Also, I did all of the math in my head while I was cycling earlier. Mmm, yeah. <3

P.S. Fun fact, here is what the massive eatin' calculator says my maintenance should be:

http://i34.tinypic.com/29krtkx.png

Pretty accurate, no? Not bad, B. Not bad at all. :)

P.S. FTR, I am not double-posting my training log anymore because there isn't any point in doing so while rws isn't here. I don't really need to post whore, hehe. Which is not to say I'm not keeping up or anything.

You all healed up or what, rws!? I'm gettin' Draconian on this ****. So, uh, I hope you're y'know.. controlling your eating slightly, or whatever you do to look that good. ;)

What happened to my homey RWS?

He cut too much and the cardio bunnies got him. We probably won't see him again until mid-winter (assuming he gets fat and thereby avoids the snow bunnies). :bncry:

Also he broke various of his parts, or something. I wasn't really paying attention tbh.

I think I am losing strength or something.

Maybe it's just lack of carbs, maybe it was too much volume... I dunno, but 225 on the bench was way harder than it shoulda been.

I am down to like 168 in the morning but honestly I am not seeing any fat come off, I guess my upper body looks very lean (mainly arms and shoulders), but stomach still looks ****ty. Legs are terrible, etc.

I went bar hopping on my bike tonight... was fun. Met a chick and didn't have any gum, tragic. I think she was too drunk to care though, she invited me out again tomorrow night, ha.

On your bicycle?

"I hope you have a big trunk cause I'm going to put my bike in it."

I was gonna ask if he's ET because that be some serious air time.

Also, rws, I think you should try a WS4SB-SS fusion like I am currently doing, with maybe less volume. (I respond well to volume, so afaict, the more the better, for me.)

K so...

Why I cannot stop gaining weight. T_T

I think maybe I'm eating way too much, though the numbers would say that is not even close to being the case. Gonna find out in a couple days, I guess. I'm verging on seriously considering taking a month or two off the weight training so I can actually LOSE weight. I don't want any more muscles right now, damnit. And I know for certain that if I simply stop touching the weights, do crazy much cardio, and maintain current intake, I will drop weight like a joke. I just don't want to be one of those people, haha. But I also don't want to be a 240 lb mammoth by the time I get to a low bodyfat. -_-

I probably am doing or have done something very similar to it... just an upper lower split right?

Not just. I think maybe you are exceeding your recovery capacity. I can't remember, but have you ever tried something much lower in total volume for a sustained (more than 2 month) period?

Seems like we're opposites in this way, because afaict the more I do the more my body gets the message, but in your case I think those long workouts might be overloading you. Hard to tell though when you're not even posting what you're doing. ;)

Yeah, back in high school my workouts were always under 45 minutes, but I didn't know anything about lifting back then.

You may be on to something... I dunno.

Since you asked though..................! I am really messed up right now. My right hand up through my forearm has been numb for ten days now, it feels as if it's asleep. Also, it spread down to my entire right leg down to my foot. I am getting kinda concerned, and I went to a doctor but he just figured I should quit lifting, so I tried that but it didn't do anything. I lifted for the first time tonight since Thursday. I probably have some hardcore pinched nerve or something, who knows, but it sucks ass. It really disorients me... like I get up from my chair and sometimes I almost fall over... dizzy and etc.

On top of that my knee is broken hardcore... can barely walk with it. My squatting career is over.... hmph.
