What goals do you guys have at the moment?
I'm reworking my aerobic base and transitioning to barefoot running. So, instead of being able to run lots 3 or 4 times a week, I'm about 70 days through running every day for the rest of the year, barefoot a third of the time to start. Working up to, by the end of the year, an hour a day of aerobic running. Which I then intend to do everydayforever, which believe it or not should be quite possible for me at this point.
At the same time I'm gaining+/maintaining strength whilst I finish what should be my last defatting for a while (I say this a lot... and I always mean it ). Then I'll continue using an IF'ing "Radical Carb Cycling" (in quotes to make it sound like I get credit for making it up) approach to getting strong while staying as lean as I can make reasonable progress at. Not a lot works for me, but this seems to. Basically, I'll transition to "bulking" by increasing my number of refeed (and strength training) days from 2 to 4 (going from 2x/wk fullbody to 4x/wk upper/lower, Westside'ish).
My long-term goal became, at some point, MMA supremacy in whatever weight class I end up in. Starting with wrestling, prolly. I gotta check into what the Uni here's got going as far as that (the girl team's quite good it seems but somehow I doubt they'll let me train with them). In the meantime I'm just going along with Joel Jamieson's general recommendation of getting to x level of strength on the big lifts before workin' on any fancy ****.
